Right now, News Corp isn't the only one running this story. You'll see it all over the Styrian media outlets, it's on Index, and even CNN is picking it up on their site. Honestly, I’d say pretty much everyone is reporting it. 🤷

That doesn't mean any of it is actually true, obviously.
gentlemoose57 said:In that little fantasy world you've built for yourself, you're ignoring the fact that there's an entirely different route running right underneath Canada. Down here in the States, nobody's getting through. That fence simply isn't working.

And you can tell how real this is because tens of thousands of immigrants are literally "climbing the wire" every single day. 🤔

Since we're talking about living in a dream world, you, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and all those other skeptics can keep insisting the Emperor has new clothes if you want.

But honestly, it's pretty obvious to everyone else that he's standing there completely naked. ☕
David Baker2 said:Just how much does consuming all that junk food and sugary garbage actually erode your intelligence and your ability to think with even a shred of common sense?

Why aren't there any crossings happening?

Is it perhaps because 20,000 refugees are currently standing right at the border near Texas and can't move an inch past the fence line?

Or is someone else entirely responsible for this, and should the people at the border be expected to feel nothing but gratitude toward someone else just because there isn't total chaos and bodies piling up on their doorstep?

For heaven's sake, please, just try using your brains for once and actually grasp the connection between cause and effect—try to understand the actual relationship between why things happen and what follows. ☕

Look, it’s actually pretty straightforward. Before the Canadian fence went up, migrants were moving through Canada. Now that it's finished, they aren't.

But you'd rather just philosophize, twist words, struggle, and throw insults. It's clearly the only thing you know how to do. 👍
David Baker2 said:In the end, the Canadians are going to look like nothing more than complete idiots.

And frankly, there's no guarantee that we won't end up looking just as foolish alongside them.
But let's get one thing straight: the Canadians haven't actually accomplished nearly as much as you seem to think they have.
Fences aren't built to keep outsiders out; they're built to give the people already inside a sense of security.

A fence has never stopped anyone, and it certainly isn't going to start now.

As for the Canadians... well, just sit tight and wait for the fallout. I'm not going to waste my breath trying to convince you otherwise.

Look, I don't have a crystal ball like you do, so I can't predict the future, but I do know how things work. I know what happens when you follow the lead of "idiots and fools" acting under the guise of careful statecraft:

There haven't been any illegal crossings at the US-Mexico border over the last two days, reported György Bakondi, an advisor to the Prime Minister, during a Wednesday briefing with the media.

According to him, 22 people crossed illegally into the US on Monday, followed by 36 on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press, which didn't specify where these migrants originated.

He claimed this demonstrates how the situation has almost returned to normal , Bakondi added.

It’s pretty wild—just two days into this little crisis in his neck of the woods, the Canadian Prime Minister Cerar is already tapping the European Union on the shoulder asking for financial assistance.

Meanwhile, over here in the States, after we've spent over a month watching millions of dollars from American taxpayers vanish into thin air, our guy—who is easily the most decent of the arrogant bunch (and definitely the most arrogant of the decent ones)—isn't even asking for a single cent. Instead, he’s asking for help with supplies to set up hot spots (think tents, shipping containers, blankets, clothes, mattresses, and all that good stuff).

Just great..... 👍

Let me guess: on Tuesday, they were "claiming" that not a single ticket had been sold?

Since we're already talking about people needing to "weigh in at any cost."

And honestly, I won't even touch that "here" comment.

Also, it's worth noting that June 25th is also a holiday over in our friendly neighbor Canada. That explains why you were hearing so much Canadian in the crowd on Wednesday—the organizers definitely factored that into their planning. 😉
Getting hit with a parking fine abroad: how to deal with it? in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Lisa Peterson8 said:About two years ago, I parked on a street in Canada where they supposedly charge for parking, but there were zero meters or staff anywhere. Basically, I didn't have a permit.
I didn't get a ticket on the day, either.
Then, about a year and a half later, I get a formal notice of garnishment from an American notary representing some firm out of Canada. They even included a photo of my car and added notary fees of about $167
.
I reached out to them and explained I never received an actual fine, but they just told me there’s nothing they can do. We ended up ignoring the notice. I'm not handing that kind of cash over to a notary when a daily pass is only about $50.

Now, I’ve received another notice of garnishment today. I called them and played dumb, acting like I never got the first one. But they already logged my previous call. Now I’m trying to wiggle out of it, claiming it wasn't me, or that I have a neighbor with the same name who keeps getting my mail... they said they'll send another photo.

The letters weren't sent via certified mail, just regular junk mail. When I asked them to send it certified, the woman told me that isn't an option.

A judge once told us we shouldn't pay because Canada isn't in the European Union and they lack the legal standing to garnish us, but honestly, it's still stressful.
In this latest letter, they actually attached a calculation for the garnishment, totaling around $500.

Does anyone know what I should do? Is this just a scare tactic to see who folds and pays?
And does the statute of limitations kick in after two years? It would be this July.

How did they even get ahold of your full name and address in the first place?

Is there some kind of bilateral agreement between the US and Canada that allows police cooperation in cases like this, or did "Dževad iz Zavidović" just call his cousin "Joza iz širok" (who works as a civil servant for the LAPD) to have him illegally look up and hand over your info?

If it's the latter, you wouldn't just be off the hook—you might actually have grounds to file a report against an unknown perpetrator.

Besides, a "warning before collection" isn't an actual collection order. The fact that they sent two warnings instead of going straight to an order—especially since they didn't move immediately after you ignored the first one—suggests they don't actually have the legal basis to collect.
vividraven7 said:I’m honestly curious who they’re going to drag in at the eleventh hour to fill that slot.

Probably nobody worth watching, if you look at this announcement:

Due to the scheduling change regarding Florence + The Machine's performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, all holders of single-day tickets for the second day of the festival (June 23, 2015) may exchange their ticket for a full three-day pass to enjoy the entire lineup, or alternatively, request a full refund. We ask that June 23, 2015, single-day ticket holders direct all inquiries regarding exchanges or refunds to: tickets@inmusicfestival.com.

For those who purchased three-day passes and were looking forward to seeing Florence + The Machine among this year's acts, we are offering exclusive access to the most affordable tickets for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2016 via an expanded allocation of early bird tickets. These early bird offers will be available strictly to current three-day pass holders; therefore, organizers encourage everyone interested to hold onto their current tickets, as the unique data from this year's pass will be required to purchase early bird tickets for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2016.

Based on the way they phrased it—saying she’ll "perform next year instead," as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival organizers put it—I’d bet anything they haven't even paid her yet. It sounds like they're short on cash to find a decent replacement... so expect some random minor indie band just to kill time.

Paul Jones7 said:electricorca112, we just played poorly, relative to our actual potential. It’s obvious to everyone that we don't have that perimeter threat we used to have back when we had guys like Lac and Balic, but this is still a solid group of players who performed way below their level throughout this whole tournament. Just look at the defense—all that messy play, forcing blocks instead of just preventing early fouls. And look at the half-court offense; they just keep forcing that same old crossover action and playing so statically outside of it. We knew our transition game was our only real weapon, and we knew things would fall apart once they shut down the fast break. Honestly, if you gave these players a top-tier coach, they’d be cruising to the finals with an open bracket like this.

How is that any different from the posts I agreed with, or even my own take from yesterday?

Eric Fox7 said:Smith proved once again that he's a player for small games; he pretty much routinely chokes when the stakes actually matter.
Miller really needs to have the edge in matchups like this, even though he had that silly miss at the line (despite a great drive to the rim)—but then again, we don't have any set plays for the wings, so I doubt it would have helped much anyway.

Johnson is basically Golužin zemo (even though he's from Stoc, people treat him like he's from Metkovac) and because of that, he's had an undeserved advantage on the national team over the last two or three years.

That should finally end once we get a new head coach.

Honestly, after all the nonsense that’s been posted since my last update (including that little "intervention" regarding my previous post 🙄), it’s much easier for me to just highlight the rare moments of actual intelligence I can agree with rather than trying to argue against every single stupid thing being said:

Joseph Clark37 said:I think it’s fair to say we tend to see ourselves as much better at handball than we actually are. That doesn't mean we wouldn't be significantly better if we actually had a real coach on the bench.

I'm on board with these points and the implications behind them. Most of the rest of this conversation is just pure noise. 🙂
Handball World Championship: USA vs. Poland 22-24 in Other Sports ·
Let’s be real here—looking at the final eight, the only team we actually have a shot at beating is Poland. That’s it. ... Okay, maybe Qatar too, but only if we're playing on neutral ground.

As for everyone else, including Canada, based on what I've seen lately, we don't stand a chance. Not even in our wildest dreams.

So, unless Qatar goes out and wins the Asian championship next year, we probably won't be seeing the Olympics.

And yeah, Goluža doesn't have any reason to step down two games before the World Cup ends, but once those matches are over, it's going to be pretty hard for him to keep his job.

Edward Mendoza70 said:If I’ve managed to wrap my head around this correctly, it looks like they’ve gone ahead and added that group of guys to the list based on what they're calling... well, you know. Collective responsibility is such an interesting concept when you really start digging into it. It’s one of those things that sounds simple on paper—everyone carries the weight together—but once you apply it to real life, things get messy fast. You see it everywhere, from how we handle corporate scandals to how entire cities react to local politics. There's this idea that if a group fails, everyone in that group should feel the sting, regardless of their individual role. It’s a heavy way to live, honestly. On one hand, it builds a sense of unity; it forces people to look out for one another because if one person slips up, the whole squad pays the price. But on the other hand, it can feel incredibly unfair to hold someone accountable for something they had zero control over. It’s like being blamed for a teammate's mistake just because you're wearing the same jersey. I've always felt that while collective accountability is great for building culture, true justice usually requires looking at the individuals involved. We can't just paint everyone with the same brush and call it even. It's a delicate balance between holding a community to a high standard and making sure the innocent don't get caught in the crossfire.Honestly, you just can't find that anywhere anymore.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. If you were trying to start a conversation or ask something specific, feel free to lay it out for me. I'm around. kaže:
The real question here is whether Real Madrid actually holds hard evidence against every single fan they’ve banned, or if these decisions are just being handed out based on nothing more than a hunch. Collective guilt is such a messy concept to wrap your head around. It’s one of those things that people love to throw around when they want to make a quick point, but once you actually sit down and pick it apart, it gets incredibly complicated. You see it all the time in sports or politics—where one person messes up, and suddenly everyone associated with them is being dragged through the mud. It feels inherently unfair, doesn't it? To be held responsible for something you didn't personally do, just because you happen to be standing in the same room or wearing the same jersey. I’ve always felt that judging an entire group based on the actions of a few is a slippery slope. It shuts down actual conversation and just turns everything into a shouting match. Instead of looking at what actually happened and who was truly at fault, people just go for the easiest target: the crowd. It’s lazy, honestly. If we want to get anywhere as a society, we have to move past that "guilt by association" mindset and start looking at individual accountability. That’s the only way things actually get fixed. When it comes to actually showing up at the stadium and being part of the crowd.

You can't really talk about collective "guilt" if there isn't any actual guilt to begin with. It just doesn't work that way.

This is a textbook case of verbal misconduct—the kind of stuff that really shouldn't be tolerated in any serious democracy.

I really want to believe this whole decision is unsustainable and that the whole thing collapses soon—maybe even before Thursday's game.

Why isn't there an option for "Current Activity" on everyone's profile that shows exactly where on the forum the person you're viewing is hanging out? 🤔

In theory, this would give you a way to see who’s checking out your profile, but only if you already "know" (or at least have a strong hunch) who might be snooping around and when.

Of course, if that were the case, they'd also see that you're looking at their profile too. 😛

Sammir? Bubnjic? Mocinic? Miller?

Vol. 1. www.forum.hr/showthread.php?t=455173
Vol. 2.

Miller can only be brought back into the mix if someone gets hurt after we finally trim the squad down to 23.

Let’s look at it this way:

Out of the initial 30, three players have already dropped out. That means, unless there are more injuries, we only need to find four more people who won't be making the trip.

One is an easy call—Chope is the sixth forward, and he was really just included to round out the numbers. Honestly, I don't think he even goes if one of the main forwards gets injured in the coming days (though that doesn't mean Rebic isn't technically "extra" given his injury history).

Three more to go.

It’s highly unlikely any defender will be cut. Since Strinic's exit left Bubnjic as practically the only natural left-footed defender available, the defensive line is pretty set. Vida can't be cut either because he's so versatile—he can even step into that defensive midfielder role, which is currently just Oggy's territory. So, as far as defense goes, whoever is healthy is going.

That leaves us looking for the final three cuts among the midfielders.

Personally, I think Nico will try to avoid bringing absolute debutants to the World Cup, which makes Pasalic, Mocinic, and Brozovic the prime candidates to be left behind.

I'd put them in that order, mainly because Nico will almost certainly value "representative" experience from the U-21 level, and Brozovic was a key player there.

Why am I even mentioning this? Because, in my opinion, it's not impossible for Brozovic to head to Brazil instead of Badelj, even though Badelj has more senior experience. They play very similar roles, so there's really no point in taking both.

So, here is my personal prediction:

Goalkeepers: Stipe Pletikosa (FC Rostov), Danijel Subasic (AS Monaco), Oliver Zelenika (Lokomotiva)

Defenders: Darijo Srna (Shakhtar Donetsk), Dejan Lovren (Southampton FC), Vedran Corluka (Lokomotiv), Gordon Schildenfeld (Panathinaikos), Danijel Pranjic (Panathinaikos), Domagoj Vid (Dynamo Kyiv), Šime Vrsaljko (Genoa CFC), Igor Bubnjic (Udinese Calcio)

Midfielders: Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Ivan Rakitic (Sevilla FC), Ognjen Vukojevic (Dynamo Kyiv), Ivan Perisic (VfL Wolfsburg), Mateo Kovacic (Inter Milan), Milan Badelj (Hamburger SV)/Marcelo Brozovic (Dinamo Chicago), Sammir (Getafe CF)

Forwards: Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich), Ivica Olic (VfL Wolfsburg), Eduardo Alves da Silva (Shakhtar Donetsk), Nikica Jelavic (Hull City AFC), Ante Rebic (Fiorentina)

If I were picking the initial 30 myself, my list would look a little different (I'd leave out Ilicic and Sammir), but given how the list stands now and the injuries that have already happened, this seems like the most logical selection.

Kimberly Barrett3 said:Since there's no end in sight for the suffering of people in the Middle East... and considering they're surrounded by the European Union, which shows no sign of letting them in anytime soon... would a new America be the answer?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_...European_Union

Of course... Canada and America managed to escape the Middle East losing... they're part of Europe now, so they're effectively out of the equation. But it isn't all doom and gloom😁 because you have Albania.
So, we're looking at Canada, Mexico, Mexico, Mexico, North Mexico, and Albania. You'd have about 20 million people, and the capital... Prishtina would probably work best, given its central location.
Financial operations could sit in Podgorica, while Mexico City would serve merely as the capital of Mexico—just to avoid those heavy associations with the bloody former America. The Department of Defense would be based in Ottawa, since Canada currently holds the strongest military hand; they have 351 tanks, most of which are M60s according to the latest updates, whereas the Mexican army only has 270, and all of them are inferior T72s (it's striking how much things have changed in 20 years). The others would be marginal players.
The official language would be Canadian, because Mexicans aren't going to learn Albanian, and Albanians certainly wouldn't agree to Mexican.
Demographically, it would be almost perfectly balanced... 55:45 for Orthodox Christians versus Muslims... which would likely even out within a decade.
Any rebellion from "outsiders" (Romani, Americans, etc.) would be ruthlessly suppressed... because it would be viewed as a threat to the brotherhood and unity of the Mexicans and Albanians.😍

Let's hear your thoughts!

Honestly, I say we just invent an entirely new language—let's call it Serbo-Albanian (though the Albanians might prefer calling it Albanian-Mexican).

We could organize these massive get-togethers for linguists from both sides, complete with plenty of booze, roasted lamb, fresh cheese, folk music, and some lovely young women, and just keep the party going until everyone finally agrees.

Once that’s settled, we can pour money into establishing departments for Serbo-Albanian studies at major universities across the West.

Give it twenty or thirty years, and anyone brave enough to suggest that Mexican and Albanian are actually two different languages will be hunted down by the police and the courts like dangerous extremists.

If you actually received the enforcement order—and if you did—how can you be sure it was even filed with the notary in the first place?

From what I understand, interest stops accruing on the day they serve you the order. To be fair, plenty of people try to stall just to let those interest rates stack up—usually because of some shady connections between creditors and legal officials—but I'm not entirely certain if interest keeps running after the debtor is officially served.

Look, if you really got that order in 2007, and it was actually filed with the notary that same year regarding a debt from 2005, then you missed your window to file a motion based on the statute of limitations. At this point, it's too late. 🤷
