Happiness isn't some permanent state of being; it’s more like little bursts of joy we manage to steal from the clock whenever we can. There’s no such thing as constant bliss. My personal rule of thumb is just to grab those moments when they happen and try not to step on anyone else's toes while you're at it.
When you set the bar sky-high, you're basically just signing up for a massive letdown. Then again, who among us can honestly say they haven't felt that electric, heart-pounding anticipation for something incredible, only to get absolutely blindsided by reality right after?😉
Not a single soul.

And you can't really escape the trap of expectation; it’s just baked into the human DNA.
It’s like... you finally reach the summit of one mountain, and then you look over and see another peak in the distance. You start thinking, how do I get to that one? It looks miles away, but you want it. You really, truly want it.
So, you start climbing the next one.
And for a second, the view is breathtaking—it fills you up, leaves you breathless, and makes you feel completely alive and inspired.
But eventually, the inevitable happens: you have to head back down. And it sucks. That’s just the cycle of life.

Then there are those people who just never stop, constantly scaling peaks and descending valleys in an endless loop.😉 It’s exhausting, sure, but it’s also what makes you feel like you're actually living.
Is life actually easier if you're good-looking? in Psychology ·
Lali said:I don't buy the idea that being attractive makes life a breeze; if anything, it’s harder for women because they end up trapped in this cycle of unhappy narcissism—there's just this crushing pressure to maintain a flawless image, which eventually turns into a massive headache as the years go by. Plus, you have those tired old stereotypes where a pretty woman is dismissed as just a pretty face with nothing upstairs, as if anyone actually gives a damn about her intellect when there's a perfect exterior to look at 😉 That kind of shallow validation tends to breed all sorts of deep-seated complexes over time since people only value them for their looks. Sure, handsome guys might develop narcissistic streaks too, and while they might have an easier time navigating social circles or getting attention, it's certainly not a guaranteed win.

So, the whole thing isn't quite as black and white as people make it out to be.

👍 🙂

It’s both and it isn't.
The "is" part comes down to the fact that the whole world seems built on visual identity first; it’s the initial thing we notice, the thing that grabs us, whether it blinds us with its beauty, its ugliness, or some messy middle ground. Then again, beauty is entirely in the eye of the beholder.😉

As for why it isn't "easy"—well, when you're attractive or whatever, life has a way of throwing situations at you where people, whether they realize it or not, get stuck on that surface-level effect. They fail to let your actual personality breathe or simply refuse to take you seriously because of how you look.
It’s like people are slaves to their own biases; they struggle to wrap their heads around the idea that someone can actually be beautiful, kind, smart, and charming all at once.
In their minds, that's just too much to process. So, they end up hating that person, ignoring them entirely, or pigeonholing them into some narrow stereotype.
At the end of the day, seeing someone who has it all just serves as a mirror for their own flaws—flaws they’re already irrationally obsessed with themselves.

It’s entirely your fault that I ended up inhaling two slices of cooked zucchini 😠 and now I’m stuck sitting here at 3 in the morning😠 😁

Go fight amongst yourselves without me 😎

Anyway, peace out. (I'm grabbing another Nutter Butter)🙄

Everything is just perfect here in the States!!!!!

Don't give up that easily, for heaven's sake😠

And honestly, using a word like "finished" can be a bit ambiguous if you aren't careful about the context, which might leave a random reader scratching their head. hehehe😎 😁

And honestly, yours isn't exactly something you'd throw away either—you've got that whole wide-open, classic American spirit going on... there's enough of you to go around, if you think about it.🙂

Oh please, why wouldn't I? You got a problem with me?
You have no idea what kind of heavy artillery I've got tucked away in my arsenal.😁
What, you aren't even going to offer a friend some solidarity?😍 😍 😍

It’s funny how you turn out to be such a non-believer deep down, isn't it?🙄

is there some kind of logical explanation here, or am I just a total mama's boy? 😢
am I really going to be whimpering like this for the rest of my life?
what's the best way to handle this? I know I'm crying over nothing, but I still can't seem to get the dam to stop breaking...

🙂 Even if you do, it’s not the worst thing in the world. I used to worry that people would walk away from me because of it, and honestly, looking back, they probably did—but even now, in my 30s, I still break down like a kid. To someone else, the reason might seem trivial, but to me, it's enough to set everything off.
I guess we're just built that way, so don't sweat it too much. Even when the tears do come, they tend to get more selective as you get older, basically deciding for themselves who is actually worth the waterworks and who isn't.
There were times when pure rage would wipe me out just as easily as sadness does.
God didn't give us tears for no reason.😉 😘

Sadness, or something more? in Psychology ·
I’ve always felt that whenever someone tries to lecture you about keeping it together—telling you not to cry or acting like tears are some kind of weakness—they’re missing the point entirely. It feels like
God
designed tears to be the physical manifestation of grief for a very specific reason.
Everyone needs their own season, whether that’s for laughing, being happy, or just sitting in the sadness and letting it out.
We all have our own internal clock that dictates how long those moments last.
But sometimes, life happens... and that season just doesn't seem to end. 😉In those cases, you just end up carrying that heavy weight along with you wherever you go, because there isn't really a way to just toss it aside.

Let’s flip the script here; it might sound a bit cliché at first, but why not give it a shot?

Take his own weapons away from him—but don't be aggressive about it. Instead, go slow, using a bit of feminine cunning and subtlety. Don't just dive in like a hungry dolphin looking for a quick fix; take it steady. And what's the goal?
People often fail to grasp what truly hurts or irritates us unless they feel that exact sting on their own skin. Hit him back using his own tactics.

If this is a deep-seated issue that you feel is genuinely significant (and you're the expert on your own life), talking it out or playing nice won't cut it—try hitting him where it actually counts.

Spend some time browsing the web, looking at guys of every possible shape and size, every race and build, all the niche content you can find (and trust me, it's all out there...), and give him the impression that while you love him, he's essentially just a player in the shadows. Make him feel like you're totally turned on and perhaps even a little "obsessed" with what you're seeing visually... which happens to be other men.

Self-pleasure? Let him know you're doing it more often and that you've discovered some pretty thrilling new channels to explore. Introduce a layer of mystery to the whole thing; let him sweat a little. At first, he might find it attractive or even a little kinky—since most guys are driven by those primal urges—but any decent, grounded man who actually cares about you is eventually going to wonder, "What on earth is going on with her? She's lighting up for other guys like a matchstick, and she can barely get going without porn featuring different dudes!" 😲

Confuse him a bit. Experiment. Push his boundaries just like he does to yours, whether he realizes he's doing it or not. You might get an answer out of it, I don't know—just a suggestion, I'm just throwing it out there.

Give it a try. And good luck—there's something to be said for when the scales finally balance out; that's usually when things start to resolve themselves. :-)
Duje Draganja: Sellout or just misunderstood? in Other Sports ·
sara4 said:Give me a break, everyone, this is getting ridiculous... if you actually consider that Duje is one of the premier athletes in his field, isn't it laughable that he's pulling in only $2333 a month? If you stack that up against a top executive at a major corporation, the number looks like pocket change, doesn't it? And he IS one of the best. I'm not saying the US Olympic Committee should be cutting him a bigger check—simply because we aren't living in an economy that can afford to overpay—but rather that a person should have the right to make whatever decision feels financially and personally sound, even if that means changing citizenship. We keep patting ourselves on the back for the successes of American women's volleyball from a decade ago, while conveniently forgetting that our national team was essentially anchored by three elite players from Russia...
Duje plays a sport where securing a future isn't a given, unlike a standard pro football player or a decent basketball player. Comparing him to those guys is just pure hypocrisy.

Regarding scholarships, any American athlete with Olympic potential gets a stipend; it’s not some exclusive perk reserved for Duje. And when he takes that scholarship to Berkeley, America sees zero return on that investment.

Honestly, everyone here is playing the moral high ground, but let's be real: it's mostly just American resentment bubbling up. And for those of you who had your tickets to the States back in '91—are you really still convinced you made the right call back then?

👍 👍 👍 👍

For God's sake, maybe there were a few rare exceptions, but the vast majority of these self-proclaimed "heroes" 🙄 (shout out to the actual outliers who stood their ground) were the ones ducking out or fleeing the country at sixteen, and now they have the nerve to lecture Draganja...

Pathetic.
