I really hope you managed to grab that link before things went south. I need to scrub it immediately because there’s some seriously malicious stuff on that page that would get anyone banned from this forum in a heartbeat... 👍
I don't think I'm even getting the option to format during the installation process. Honestly, I’m too lazy to fix my DVD drive since I don't even really need one anymore—I'll just install from another partition via Windows XP or grab a USB stick. I assume if I were using a DVD, that formatting option would actually show up like it used to. 👍
edit: It specifically tells me that a previous version of Windows is already present and that it's going to rename it "Windows Old" once the new one is finished. It isn't giving me any choice to format; it's just showing me "Load Drivers" and nothing else.
Look, fine. There’s a whole spectrum of ways to handle this. He claimed it was impossible to delete, so I was just laying out how I actually managed to get it done 👍
Look, you don't necessarily have to go through the hassle of a full format. Try this instead: dive into that Windows Old folder and try deleting it piece by piece. Just grab a few files at a time, wipe them out, and repeat the process. Usually, when you try to delete everything at once, it hits a snag, but if you chip away at it manually, you can get most of it gone. If there's still a stubborn little remnant left over that refuses to budge, just grab an unlocker tool to force it through. 👍
What on earth is this "registry seeker" nonsense? You don't just go around scrubbing your computer with every random piece of junk software you stumble upon. You're supposed to use tools that have actually been vetted and proven to work. 👍
edit: I need to see the actual warning he's getting in the program; it’s pretty obvious he went ahead and wiped out stuff he definitely shouldn't have...
Build quality, thermal management, higher-resolution displays—all those premium specs favor the more expensive models, and obviously, you're getting better internal components too. But let's be real, plenty of high-end brands put out absolute junk back in the day when they were just starting out, like those old machines running a Celeron 900MHz with 128MB of RAM, a 20GB hard drive, and a measly 32MB graphics card. So, if you're just looking for something to get started with for learning purposes, this is an excellent 👍
Everything installs just fine on my machine. Honestly, if you’re out here trying to manually disable services and toggle options immediately after a Windows installation, you better know exactly what you're doing... otherwise, why bother? 👍
First off, we aren't running some custom XP Performance Edition here; this is just standard Windows 7. Second, this is someone's DIY home project, not an official Microsoft build, so if you’re looking for technical specifics, maybe try asking the person who actually cooked this up in nLite. you're talking about performance edition 😂
Give me a break: 1. I don't have a license: So I can't exactly run a Software update 2. 2. If you're such a big shot, why don't you go ahead and find me the graphics drivers (FOR WINDOWS 7) for my laptop? It's a five-year-old relic: Intel(R) 915GM\GMS, 910GML Express Chipset with 128 MB
It wasn't actually sitting at 100% utilization, either—that was just a momentary spike... I'm only looking at digital TV signals here, so obviously, there's absolutely no reason to bother with this leftover RAM...
Austin Ramirez18 said:That VIP stick works perfectly fine on x64 without needing any right-click hacks or Compatibility Mode. I was using it all summer down at the beach.
Look, you have to consider that there are probably older models that look identical from the outside but are functionally different under the hood—models that just won't work. Am I right? You’ve got entire lines of Huawei devices with various model numbers, or even ZTE units like the K3656 or K3756... they aren't all the same thing.👍
That screenshot was so tiny I could barely make out what was going on,
I’ve actually got another old laptop sitting here with a Celeron 1.60 and 768MB of RAM running Windows 7 Ultimate—it’s basically stripped down without Aero enabled. I mostly just use it to watch TV, so performance isn't exactly my top priority 👍
And honestly, there’s plenty of free RAM available because I don't run any bloated antivirus software, heavy browsers, or media players in the background... I have no idea how it would even manage... It's not just about the OS eating up the RAM, but why on earth did you post that specific image?
silverviper6 said:The x86 or 86-bit version is actually an original Russian build in English that my grandma sent me. It’s basically a 23-bit thing on XP. The OS doesn't have any "holes" or bugs. Plus, it supports all the drivers, whether they're for XP or 2000.
By the way: I have 3 Windows 7 licenses I got from Microsoft; selling them for $333 each.
Fine, I’ll give an original Russian version of Windows 7 the benefit of the doubt. 👍 I mean, if it was put together with a bottle of vodka within arm's reach, there shouldn't be any glitches, right? 😉
Anyway, thanks for the licenses, but I’ll just "acquire" whatever software I need myself. Over the years, I've become quite the expert at it. 👍
Listen, mister nobody, spare me the unnecessary whining,
it’s not like we didn't already know this stick works on 64-bit systems. You clearly don't even realize that 86-bit isn't a thing, so I guess we're both equally clueless here, one-to-one. 👍
The VIP models are just rebranded ZTE and Huawei hardware; they look identical on the outside, even if the branding says Verizon, but this thing won't work on 64-bit systems, nor does it play nice with Telac—I have no clue who actually manufactures those, it’s honestly ridiculous to go through the whole ordeal of upgrading your entire OS and tweaking everything just to get online, only to realize you're stuck because your only way onto the web is via a USB stick that doesn't work. Then what's the point? What good is having a high-end OS or 256-bit processing if you're totally cut off from the world? You're basically useless. I mean, seriously... 👎

I'm using that same VIP mouse myself, so I guess 64-bit is off the table for now too... 👍
Oh, and I almost forgot—cheers to our VIP, may his sarcasm live forever.
Jerry Flores74 said:Alright, just one last quick question. Do you happen to know of any specific software, games, or apps that definitely won't run on a 64-bit system? That’s really all I wanted to know. 😁
Look, you're going to have to ask someone who actually uses a 64-bit OS. I haven't personally made the switch. I ended up with the 32-bit version, and since it's doing everything I need it to do, I haven't even bothered testing out the other one. 👍
Jerry Flores74 said:Nice. 🙂 Do you have Skype or maybe x-firati so I can just message you if I get stuck instead of starting a whole new thread?
I don't use any of that stuff, but honestly, just post your question right here. This whole thing is about Windows 7 anyway, so I doubt there's anyone here who isn't more than capable of helping you out. Besides, I don't see why you'd need to go anywhere else. 👍
