I've got about 20 GB of free space on my drive—plenty of room, right? So I start extracting, and suddenly I get hit with a "disk full" error. It’s impossible. Fine, whatever. I clear out some junk, try the extraction again (just basic drag-and-drop, trying to unpack an ISO for a game), and the file isn't even in the target folder. But get this: my C: drive, where my Windows installation lives, suddenly jumps up by about 3 GB. Clearly, that file is hiding somewhere on the system, but where the hell is it? I can't find it via Search, and it's definitely not sitting in the temp folder. 🤷 How am I supposed to track it down? And how do I fix this ridiculous "disk is full" nonsense when I know for a fact there's space? 🙄

rumors:
The release date of Windows 7 SP1 is getting closer. Scheduled for September 2010, Windows 7 service pack 1 will not dramatically change Windows 7 and is only considered a minor update that might include support for USB3.0, the new WAT and a few fixes here and there.

Wzor already confirmed that Windows 7 service pack 1 will include Windows Activation Technologies that is going to block all the pirated Windows 7 copies, but it still hasn’t been confirmed if it will include USB 3.0 support.
Older games are capped at 1024x768 because that was the standard screen resolution back then. If the game itself doesn't have built-in support for higher resolutions, you're stuck—there's no way to force it. 👍

Look, just turn on indexing and trigger a manual crawl of your D: drive where you actually keep your files. Let it finish. And for heaven's sake, don't try to index the C: drive too, or the index file will become massive and bloated. It’ll take some time depending on how much data you're sitting on, and honestly, you should probably leave the PC alone while it runs because multitasking will just slow down the process—the system usually tells you that anyway. Once it's done, you'll find anything immediately, whether it's a song, a game, or a photo. Without doing this, you aren't going to find a single thing from the Start menu. 🙏
So, that works for Firefox... but what the hell are we supposed to do on Opera? Seriously?
That only happened to me once. Honestly, I could brag about that if I were actually trying to pack on the pounds, but since my whole goal is losing weight, it’s not exactly a flex. 😛
I set my filters to block all pop and rock artists, so hopefully, that finally stops them from jumping out at me...
Ashley Vaughn15 said:Hey! I'm running Windows 7. Everything was working perfectly until today when I suddenly got this message pop up: "this copy of windows is not genuine." Does anyone know what happened or how I can fix this?! p.s. I'm definitely not some "tech expert"... 🙂
First off, there’s already a legitimate thread on this exact topic right here on the forum.
Second, for heaven's sake, pay attention to what you're updating... 👎
edit: Keith Bennett38, you're being way too harsh. There is an existing thread about this; I didn't create it, nor did I approve it..... 🙂
I'm using Windows Media Player 12, and I can't listen to the radio for the life of me. 😠
Whenever I click on online stores, it either says "no online stores" or claims they aren't available in my location.
And when I try clicking that little down arrow next to the online stores link? Absolutely nothing happens. Nothing at all. 🤷
I've already tried disabling the firewall and switching my Region and Language settings to the USA, but no luck there either. 🤷
I used to be able to listen to it just fine back when I was running Windows Media Player 11 on XP. 🤷
Personally, I just use Winamp for radio streams and it has never once screwed me over—though, granted, Windows Media Player 12 might actually have better sound quality...👍

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it. Now, the whole thing freezes constantly and I have to do a hard manual reset. It happens when I right-click an icon, or even just during a software installation... Plus, the USB ports are being totally hit-or-miss. Is this an issue with Windows or is the hardware itself faulty? I really don't want to waste my time taking it back to the service center if it's just a Windows problem...
Thanks
It isn't because of Windows 7. I've been running 6.1.7600 ultimate x86 on a Compaq Turion X2 RM-74 2.20GHz with 2GB 800MHz RAM and Intel HD Graphics 256MB for three months now without a single hiccup. HP provides drivers for every OS on their official sites—I didn't even need a disc. Windows 7 handles most of it automatically, but I also used Driver Genius Pro 2009. So, bottom line: absolutely everything works perfectly fine... 👍
Ashley Hall48 said:Look, I used to do things this way on my old setup without any drama, but now that I've moved to a seven-day cycle, it just won't work!! I was reading online that you have to mail it back later, but I honestly have no clue how 😁
I don't know what to tell you—I simply wrote down exactly how I did it myself. Maybe you're dealing with a bad Bluetooth driver? Go find the right one on the manufacturer's website. My process is simple: I go into the HP Wireless Assistant, turn on Bluetooth, right-click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, and select "Add a device"... then just follow the steps I laid out above.
If it still isn't working, check the bottom of that Control Panel screen: there's a link that asks, "What if Windows doesn't detect the device?" Give those troubleshooting steps a shot... 🙂
STAY AWAY from the latest update tagged as wat KB71033
The Windows Activation technologies update for Windows 10
-->> If you install this, expect your OS to be flagged as non-genuine!! Basically, if you aren't running a legitimate license, do NOT touch this update.
I don't have WATU; I've got a cracked version running fine.
Honestly, if people don't take the time to actually read what each specific update does, they're going to screw themselves over...
God, the way those two things look together is just hideous. It’s an absolute eyesore. I'm finally ready to get rid of this mess—should I just go ahead and return it now? But wait, if I do, I still have it running on XP, so what am I supposed to do for the rest of the week? This is a total disaster!
I went ahead and installed Microsoft Office myself, but is that actually worth the trouble? I mean, it hasn't caused any issues for me so far, but you can never be too careful when it comes to this kind of thing.😬
A buddy of mine who’s running the same dual boot setup with Windows XP and Windows 7 tells me he just grabbed the shortcuts for his programs directly from the XP partition—I actually went through the trouble of installing everything manually. Honestly, looking at what my colleague is doing, I don't see the point in having access to games from both operating systems!
