No. That’s not exactly what I meant, though I guess I could just hit F11 to force Opera into full-screen mode. But then I lose my address bar and the minimize button, which defeats the whole purpose. I don't know what you're getting at with "tabs." If you're talking about browser tabs, they eat RAM for breakfast. If you mean keyboard tabs, please tell me you aren't still struggling with basic navigation. Be specific or don't bother wasting my time. Fine, let's just go with this then... if that's how it's going to be.
@quietridge92, if you can't wrap your head around Windows 7, just go back to Windows XP and call it a day.👍
😁
One can always look things up online. I was simply offering advice here. My point was that you really need at least 2GB of RAM just to run the OS smoothly, plus another 2GB specifically for XP mode to prevent stuttering. Some people claim the system is slow, but in my opinion, it's because they're running on insufficient RAM.🙄
Either go out and actually learn how to handle this, or just install Windows XP. Honestly, if you’ve got 4GB of RAM, your best bet is to set up XP Mode and just run everything inside that—provided your RAM and processor actually support virtualization...
For anyone currently rocking—or planning to rock—a Windows 7 machine, you might actually find some value here. It’s a joint effort between Microsoft and the folks over at CNN 👍 . http://windows7.cnn.com/
It’s not like I find it hard to just slap it on there so everyone can see the glory 😛

Just upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 to Windows 7 Ultimate the day before yesterday, and like the guy above mentioned, apparently I have to wait. Honestly, I am not at all impressed by how much you guys—and everyone else—are hyping up Windows 7. Some things are already driving me nuts. And what was the deal with those beta versions where you had that "send feedback" thing? Wasn't the whole point to turn that off so it wouldn't pop up on every single window? Now, when I try to play a video from a folder, instead of it just opening Windows Media Player and playing immediately, Windows 7 just blinks with the WMP icon in the taskbar, forcing me to click the icon just to bring the window up so the video actually starts. Or if I set a music folder to shuffle and set the crossfade to, say, 8 seconds so tracks blend smoothly, it just hits a massive pause until it "remembers" what to play next 😛. Then, if I click a photo in a folder, Windows 7 throws an enlarged preview in a window *behind* everything else instead of in front. I am seriously losing my mind with these RTM releases. Windows XP and Vista were decent enough, but they didn't act like this. And why does this damn taskbar always insist on being at the top? 😛 That’s about as much as I have to say about my "excitement." Forget this whole thing until they actually fix it... if they ever do . Edit: And where the hell is the option to minimize WMP down to the system tray like in Windows XP and Vista? It’s gone, isn't it? God, I hate this OS .
+ Now I'm trying to delete a folder of songs because I lowered the bitrate and moved the smaller files to a different folder, and Windows 7 tells me I need permission because I don't have administrator privileges? Am I not the admin on my own computer? I am actually going to lose it. So then I have to delete the songs one by one until the folder is finally empty enough to delete the directory itself. Unbelievable 😛
Look, there are hundreds of these sidebar gadgets floating around the web—just hit up Google. You can even grab massive bundles for something like $580 if you want everything at once. Just download them, install them, and instead of cluttering up your sidebar, just pin the gadget directly to your desktop.
If you aren't planning on using Windows Old anymore, just go ahead and wipe it. Once it's gone, make sure you run a defrag on that partition to clean things up properly.
Honestly, it looks like the week is running just fine from where I’m sitting. I really don't get the crowd showing up just to talk trash. If this isn't your cup of tea, then don't even bother opening the thread—there isn't anything here that'll appeal to you anyway. 😛 Anyway, since I've been stuck on Windows 7 for an hour now, does anyone know how to stop the Taskbar from jumping to the top every time I launch my browser or something? I've been digging through the properties, but I'm getting nowhere. It's the Ultimate 32-bit edition! Thanks.
Who’s actually going to drop music from a chain? You can't—there are way too many genres involved. It might work for a split second if you were playing it in a small circle, but having some of the more well-known users from other forums come on as guests? Now that, I could get behind.
Give me a break, seriously. These constant 503 errors are getting incredibly frustrating, especially since I’m not seeing this issue popping up on any other forums. I'd really appreciate it if someone could just get this sorted out.
A buddy of mine pointed out that I should just scrap all that Glary Utilities stuff you mentioned. Personally, I don't see any issues with my Norton setup—it’s been my go-to for ages, and I trust it implicitly. Hehe. Look, everyone knows that if you have ten different programs trying to do the same thing, they're just going to clash and mess things up. That's the bottom line: stick to one solid tool and call it a day. That's my two cents.
crimsonridge44 said:Ha, look, I know it’s not quite on the level of Vista, but let's be real—the interface is miles ahead of plain old XP. I see Windows 7 is available... hmm. Might actually be worth giving that a shot.🙂
Isso pack 7 is solid—it just looks better right out of the box. Everything feels more polished.
Andrew Reyes44 said:Isso pack is solid. It’ll serve me just fine for now, but once I finally get some more RAM installed in this rig, I'm moving straight up to Windows Vista Ultimate.😉👋
Forget about Vista—it’s a waste of time. Just push for Windows 7 already. 😛
