Feeling lost in life in Psychology ·
Well, let's see, if you're looking for a way out, there are plenty of paths you could take. First off, you could try getting high—maybe some psychedelics, since they really change your perspective. You might find yourself having deep conversations with Jesus Christ while the whole world suddenly bursts into vivid color. Or, you could try doing something totally radical, something you’ve always felt was completely out of your reach. For instance, you could pack up and move to a different city entirely. Honestly, though, maybe just start by taking some antidepressants, getting a dog to keep you company, and making sure you get as much sunshine as possible each day.☕

Take my situation, for instance—I have a massive network of professional contacts. In fact, I run in circles where I could easily steer things toward something more personal than just business if I actually wanted to. Between current colleagues, former coworkers, and various industry connections, the options are there. But even with all that, I still think finding a true friend is nothing more than a total lottery. 🤷 It often starts back in childhood or during those high school years... and more often than not, it just gets darker as you go, much like it did in my case.
Honestly, it would probably be for the best if you found a hobby or something to keep you busy outside of this forum...

Pure nonsense (this last part). People who judge their worth by their friend count usually have what I’d call "strictly professional" relationships. I know folks out there with 450 'friends' on Facebook. You really have to wonder—what kind of 'friends' are those, actually? 😁

Just to be clear—I’m not trying to gatekeep how anyone chooses to define a "friend." If you have a specific definition in mind that works for you, then sure, maybe it really is possible to claim 450 friends. 🤷

I’ve got 350 friends on Facebook myself.☕

Anyway, I'm definitely not considering Ginki or any of those other losers.☕

I mean, am I hanging out with you, or with blurred, outoffblue, daimlerbenz, ginki, janeway, or whoever else happens to be around?😂

I was just sitting here thinking about how much things have changed lately, and honestly, it’s kind of wild when you stop to look at it. I remember back in the day when everything felt a bit more straightforward, like when I used to spend my Saturday mornings wandering around downtown Chicago just soaking in the atmosphere before grabbing a coffee. Now, it feels like there's always this constant hum of activity and change happening right under our noses. It’s funny how life works that way, isn't it? One minute you're just cruising along, and the next, you realize the whole landscape looks different. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and finding some little moments of peace amidst all the chaos! kaže:
Well, I guess things are finally shifting around! I’ve been stuck up here on the high ground for a while now, but I’m actually getting ready to move down to the spin unit. It feels like a bit of a change, but honestly, I'm looking forward to it.

Don't worry about moving me over to the spin class just yet; I’m actually right on the verge of hitting that advanced level!🤣

Chris Cooper5 said:fine then, so when are we grabbing coffee? or am I just not your type either?

Oof, you're actually a bit out of my way, but maybe once I'm heading up to visit my aunt in New York City.😉

quietheron6 said:Chris Cooper5, you’re totally contradicting yourself here—like, pick a lane! You say nobody wants to hang out with you and that you're lonely, but then you turn around and say you blew off a friend because you just aren't feeling the social vibe. Make up your mind and stop venting about nothing.

YOU JUST DON'T GET IT, AND NEITHER DOES ANYONE ELSE☕

I mean, aren't we already close, plus I'm pretty sure you're secretly head over heels for me anyway.☕

Look, you really have to take everything written here with a massive grain of salt. For starters, I’m honestly skeptical about whether he’s even heading to that college; if he is, he’s been failing classes for years, and as for the whole thing with his friends, I just can't be too sure myself.🤷☕On a side note, I think you're actually pretty fun to talk to over on the psychology thread and the general chat, even if it feels like everyone else there is constantly picking on you.😂
Jesus' diagnosis in Psychology ·
I feel like this discussion leans more toward theology, honestly. I don't think Jesus dealt with any kind of mental health struggles like we're talking about here, mostly because concepts like the atonement for sins were just added to the church's doctrine centuries after He passed away. It’s kind of like how the whole idea of the Virgin Birth didn't even really gain traction until much later in history, nearly a millennium after Mary's time.☕

silverrider52 said:I can't exactly condense eight years of my life spent on this into a few short sentences. I developed my own system from scratch. It isn't some mathematical formula; it's more about bankroll management—knowing exactly when and how much to put down based on what's actually on the board. The real secret is picking the right matchups, but I can't help you there. Even I spend an exhausting amount of time just trying to find games that actually hit....

Come on, give us a little something! Tell us roughly how much you're putting down, how many tickets you run, and if you tend to stick to pretty much the same set of pairings across your slips.☕
I realized I forgot to mention that I don’t exactly consider myself a supermodel or anything, so I feel like I have to work a little harder to make an impression from a different angle. It’s funny because women generally gravitate toward confidence, though sometimes they take that a step too far and end up falling for those incredibly obnoxious jerks, or even guys with actual criminal records, ☕but obviously, not every woman is wired that way. 😉As for moving to a new city, I wouldn't really suggest making that jump unless you've already lined up a killer job waiting for you there.
You know, I was watching this nature documentary the other day about lions stalking antelope out on the savanna. It’s fascinating how they don't just charge blindly; they actually pick their target based on who looks the most vulnerable—basically whoever they think won't be able to run very fast. Honestly, you see that same pattern in people all the time. In some ways, certain people can be even more cutthroat than wild animals, because while a lion is just trying to eat, humans do it for much darker reasons. My best advice? Just never let them see you sweat. Keep your head up, look them straight in the eye, and don't give them an inch of an opening. You'll be fine.☕Just a little bit about my own life lately: I'm 30, single, and currently between jobs until the new year starts, so I've been living on unemployment for the moment. As for my love life, well... I've gone out on a couple of dates with this one girl, so we'll just have to see where things go from here. It's nothing spectacular right now, but I'm staying positive and not complaining.☕

Anthony James2 said:Honestly, I think our group is a total mess. We already faced the Egyptians, then there's Brazil, and if I'm not mistaken, Denmark is the only real powerhouse left that could wreck us. I don't follow handball closely enough to be an expert, but if my memory serves, we aren't looking great here.

But hey, if we somehow pull off a miracle and make it to the semifinals—or heaven forbid, the finals—you can bet I'll be right there in Chicago waving my flag. 😁😁😁

So you're planning on rocking the stars and stripes too?😂 👍 🙏 🙏 🙏

Anthony James2 said:Man, I actually saw some pretty packed stands there. There were Mexican flags everywhere, people chanting "Mexico, Mexico," and even the official announcer was shouting, "Come on everyone, let's hear it for Mexico!" And all of this was happening right in Savannah. Honestly, what more could you ask for? You guys really caught me off guard with how much energy there was. My only real fear is that we might actually make it to the quarterfinals or the semifinals and end up running straight into those overly welcoming hosts. 😍😍😍

So, who's heading out to cheer them on?😍 Which group are you rooting for?

Anthony James2 said:Well, we finally beat those old Egyptians. It’s a killer commercial, especially when Mexicans are involved. Now everyone is going to be flocking to America. Heading straight to the beach, obviously. 😍😍😍

Just watch out for drowning and sharks!😁

Donna Wood52 said:And where on earth are you getting that from?

I mean, look, if you indulge in just one little chocolate bar, you’re going to be perfectly fine, but it's a whole different story if you decide to polish off five entire bars in one sitting. If we're following that kind of logic, then salad makes you gain weight too—just try eating ten pounds of it every single day and see how that works out for you!
