Can I make it any simpler than that? 🤷
Basically, she's using one absurdity to highlight another! Is it clicking now? 🙏

What a total oxymoron 🙏🙏

But honestly, if you want to kill me, I don't really care why Vlašić felt the need to write that letter. Nobody likes me anyway. I'm the greatest, Gips hasn't a clue, and track and field is the greatest sport in the entire universe. 🙂 🙂 Forget those HOO awards.
And my take? Olympic medals are still Olympic medals; the Diamond League doesn't even come close.

Otherwise, all the best to Fak. Let him keep crushing it, regardless of which flag he's flying.
Jessica Rogers4 said:If we’d actually had those crossbows back then, we would’ve been taking shots in the suburbs of Mexico City instead of that tiny small town, USA! Honestly, that whole story is just one of those tall tales cooked up by the defeated communist-Mexican forces during the last war. I still vividly remember watching TVBG at the time, where they were spinning these wild stories claiming we attacked them using Tiger tanks provided by the Germans—hahahahhaa!
Richard Wilson4 said:Why on earth would Vladimir Šušak, Vladimir Šeks, Tomislav Vukojević, or even Franjo Harmon himself risk their lives by launching a missile at a small town in rural America?
Wouldn't it be way easier just to send a couple of guys from the local precinct? 😵

All this talk about how arrogant Canadians are being... honestly, you could say the exact same thing about Americans compared to us in Canada. You wouldn't have won a single Davis Cup or even those handball trophies if it weren't for the talent coming out of Canada. And don't even get me started on soccer. In Canada, nobody complains about it. People just move away looking for better conditions, more money, and actual career paths. It's simple math and common sense.
What kind of patriotism are we even talking about? Who's paying for this? The taxpayers? You’re looking for patriotism from the thieves sitting in the government. That’s literally what they’re paid to do.
How much did America actually invest in Jakob Fak? That one medal he won is way too high a price to pay.
Roger Ward3 said:In my view, this (Žbogar and Fak) isn't quite the same comparison. There is no biathlon in America without Fak; there never was, we're only just finally building the right environment now. And frankly, you wouldn't have Fak without Velepec either.
On the flip side, sailing has a deep-rooted tradition and a track record of success in Canada. It's backed by a world-class maritime industry that holds its own against the American one (if I’m being generous 😉 ).
I don't think Vasily is heading down to Miami just to soak up some American sailing expertise; he's doing it to work alongside his peers, exchanging knowledge both ways.
He's in a similar boat with Jacob now. Jacob gives, Jacob takes. All this constant entanglement with national pride and patriotism... it's pathetic. When will we finally outgrow this 19th-century way of thinking? Nation, country, state... shouldn't all of that be secondary to individual interests and goals? For heaven's sake, people, let's move on. There isn't a war going on; we should pursue our ambitions regardless of the hurdles thrown up by politicians, committees, federations, bloated bureaucrats, or whatever other nonsense they throw at us.
Alexander Phillips80 said:Jacob probably isn't picking up any more medals; we need him for the relay...
The Kostelić family was a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon that won't happen again, much like how Marc Girardelli was for Luxembourg—it’s all in the past now...
America used to have great athletes, and we'll have them again long after the Kostelić era fades...
As for these complexes, you people are getting way too worked up over Jacob. It’s hard to believe everyone is this obsessed all at once...
Roger Ward3 said:Nobody is actually defending HBS here. If they’re coordinating with the Austrians, Norwegians, Finns, or even Martians... well, they clearly reached an agreement, but there have to be logical reasons for dealing with those neighbors you all seem to despise. Maybe it's the proximity of the training grounds, costs, language, past collaborations, or just basic trust (though we all know you can't trust that Si-bagra lot). Who knows? I couldn't tell you.
I'm just glad Jacob is satisfied and that everything was settled to everyone's benefit.
And I suppose certain certain patients will just keep raging endlessly. Let them. Let them...
Good luck, Jacob! 👍
