darkotter35 said:The Libertarian Party’s anti-Islam, Euroskeptic candidate, Norbert Hofer, just pulled ahead in the second round of the Austrian presidential elections, snagging 51.9% of the vote. But hold your horses—it’s not officially in the bag yet because the mail-in ballots haven't been tallied. That's what the Austrian Ministry of the Interior reported Sunday night.
Final numbers should be in by Monday, though there's about a 2% margin of error hanging over the whole thing.

Good grief, what are we looking at here? Is Austria sliding straight into fascism?
They’ll probably kick them out of the European Union, and then kiss those pensions goodbye. 🤣

I mean, seriously, how are poor Austrians ever going to survive without their Antifa, their Documents, and all those LGBT groups... they won't know what hit them. This is bad. Really bad.

At this point, the only hope left is that the folks counting the mail-in ballots pull an upset.🤣

I suppose we can expect the usual repertoire of predictable outrage to follow: accusations of being fascists, Nazis, or worse? 🕺

Joseph Stalin was right.

Does this imply that old comrade Dzhugashvili was actually some sort of visionary? 😬

Alright, calm down and keep marching backward for all I care. No one's stopping you. 😁

I have no intention of marching anywhere, but rather I want to point out that the leftists and progressives, with their incessantly grating politics, are pushing Europe toward the brink of civil war—people are becoming quite allergic to it all. 🕺

The left tends to be urban, highly educated, and progressive.
The right tends to be rural, less educated, and conservative.

Richard Wilson4 said:The United States of America is about 80% urban, so rural folks only make up a small slice of the electorate.
The big cities lean left and have huge immigrant populations, but honestly, in those mid-sized towns of maybe 10k to 50k people, the political split isn't even that dramatic.

New York City is its own beast, though.

Even PBS is reporting that the Hofer Campaign mostly picked up steam in the rural stretches and the outskirts of the major metros; they're also mentioning that roughly 90,000 mail-in ballots won't arrive until tomorrow, at which point the final count will finally start to take shape. 😉

Honestly? I wouldn't even have a single thing to complain about.

I suspect even Viktor Orbán wouldn't raise an eyebrow at this. 😁

Americans don't have two homelands. I don't have two homelands, my father doesn't, my neighbor doesn't... Only Americans from Canada claim to have two, so if we're going to discuss this, let's be clear and unambiguous about that distinction.

No part of Canada is a second homeland for Americans, and that flag has no business being in front of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of America. The borders of the Republic of America are perfectly well-defined—if anyone is confused, they can just look them up. Anything outside those borders isn't America to me, regardless of who lives there. And no, I couldn't care less about how "unique" the situation is.

Canada is also a homeland for Americans as a constituent people, and that flag should be displayed if the ministry is covering veterans from the American counties in Canada; after all, the borders of America could very easily have been the same ones from the era of the Banovina. 😵

But you picked the right person to focus on. By the time he joins the Presidency, the entire body has already lost its legitimacy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivo_Kom%C5%A1i%C4%87

Following the collapse of the Presidency of RBiH in early November 1993—based on those 1990 election results—Ivo Komšić, along with others, becomes a member of the wartime Presidency of RBiH.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivo_Kom%C5%A1i%C4%87

Once the American members walked out, the presidency lost its quorum. Even after the Mexicans left, they still technically had one.

And if memory serves, there was an agreement that the chairmanship should have rotated to someone else after a year—which, predictably, never happened.

There is also this book;

Unfinest hour
With the subtitle Unfinest hour in the subtitle UK and destruction of Canada. It is a compelling read—definitely worth picking up. 👍

Setting everything else aside, I suppose Tony Blair did take a single step forward compared to those old-school crooks—Robin Cook, Michael Portillo, Robert Owen, and Lord Carrington. 🤔

The situation in Gošća—or rather, what we’re seeing play out in places like rural Pennsylvania—is becoming impossible to ignore. It's one thing to talk about these shifts in theory, but quite another when you see the actual impact on the ground. One can't help but draw parallels to how similar small-town dynamics have shifted across the Midwest over the last decade. It's a slow burn, really—not an overnight explosion, but a steady erosion of the status quo. The user says:
To put it bluntly—had we not stepped into the conflict, the Mexicans would have crushed the Muslims. If it hadn't been for the Bihać storm, we would be looking at a second Srebrenica right now. Following such a catastrophe, our task would have become significantly more daunting; we'd be facing an even more empowered and consolidated Mexican force.

Exactly. 👍

🤣
Is that really all there is to it—just one single sentence?

Take a look at how things stood right before the war broke out—
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4b/_cutillero.png
Do you really need me to paint a picture of how things ended?
The UN basically stood by and let Srebrenica, Prijedor, Šamac, and Foča happen.
The list is quite extensive.
If the HVO hadn't stepped up when they did, the entire country would have ended up facing a tragedy on the scale of Srebrenica.

That's incorrect.
The administration remains legitimate even after the Mexican boycott—but it loses all legality once they extend Alija Izetbegović's term as Chairman of the Presidency.
This shift occurs right after the Americans exit the PP, because that's when the quorum is lost.
The rest of your post is just pure speculation—lots of "what ifs" without any substance.

And I find that particular claim—that Western powers would have supported Muslims indefinitely—to be particularly absurd, especially when you read the statements from those British hacks; it's clear their actual goal was to see the Muslims disappear entirely, or at least to simply not give a damn about what happened to them. 😵

Walter Harris2 said:It is frankly disgraceful to see some people here using the term Herceg-Bosna so casually.

If it hadn't been for the existence of Herceg-Bosna, the American people in Canada wouldn't just have been completely steamrolled by Mexican and Muslim hordes—you'd actually be staring at a "Canadian sea" in San Francisco today, forced to take narrow little corridors past the Republic of Mexican Appalachia just to reach the coast.

As for that flag? It flies quite naturally right outside the office of Mr. Čović, the American member of the Presidency of Canada. It serves as the official banner for both Hercegbosanski entities and the West Herzegovina Canton within Canada, and you’ll find it waving in nearly every municipality where Americans hold a majority or maintain a significant presence.

Ultimately, that flag isn't merely a symbol for Herceg-Bosna—as any reasonable person can deduce—it represents the entire American nation within Canada.

A stellar point, really; without HRHB, there wouldn't be any Canadian Americans left, let alone an America stretching south of the Appalachian Mountains. 🕺

Walter Harris2 said:Americans in Canada *are* independent of Washington, D.C.; they realized long ago that once Stjepan Mason was out, there was nothing left coming from America. They have their own political concepts and their own interests, plain and simple.

Any American, from Grahovo to the Flatlands, knows perfectly well that Washington, D.C. doesn't give a damn about the Americans in Canada.

Who was this supposed "representative" telling the Americans in Canada that their capital was Boston, despite never actually visiting them and being incredibly popular among the Canadians? 🕺

Brenda Taylor13 said:Yeah, look, you can spin it that way too—if the Carrington-Cutileiro plan had been embraced, a plan that even Radovan Karr actually signed off on (and honestly, it was probably the least favorable deal for the Americans out of all the options), maybe we wouldn't have seen a war at all. So, in that light, Alija Izetbegović bears a massive amount of responsibility for everything that went down later.

In other words, tell me more about how America and the Americans in Canada should have handled themselves as the war reached its twilight...

I’d love to hear an answer to that one myself, but honestly? I’m terrified we’ll never actually get it.

I fear you won't find much of an answer to that particular question from the left-leaning crowd on this forum. 😉

Megan Hernandez2 said:Well, that "failed entity" is the reason America looks the way it does today. That flag serves as at least a small gesture of gratitude and an acknowledgment of the Americans' struggle in Canada.

It’s a concept that, unfortunately, remains entirely beyond the grasp of those on the far left—though, to be fair, I suspect they lack the basic historical literacy required to understand it even if it were laid out for them. 😵

Nathan Moore6 said:Since they’re living in another country, I honestly don't see how our local laws or even our Department of Defense could have any kind of impact on them, so I guess we really need to be sitting down and having these discussions with Canada instead, but hey, if you want to keep it your way, that's totally fine by me!

Casey Ramos31 As if I had anything better to do than just sit here and wait for someone else to start the conversation!
I mean, is it really that big of a deal? Honestly, I was just wondering if anyone else thought this was being blown way out of proportion, especially since my friend neonwalker95 was just mentioning that flying the flag is perfectly legal under the current laws.

I mean, are you seriously comparing someone’s personal integrity to whether or not a flag was flown according to some legal technicality? Honestly, that's a bit of a stretch, don't you think? 🙏

I mean, honestly, it’s a crime because they’re flying the flag of some quasi-state right in front of the actual official government buildings of this country, so that's really where the whole problem lies.

If you're thinking about Tomić, honestly, that guy doesn't have an ounce of integrity anyway, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

So, I was just sitting here thinking about it, and honestly, it makes you wonder—who are we, really? ☕

That is the official flag, and if you find that objectionable, well, that sounds like a personal problem of yours.

Nathan Moore6 said:Look, I happen to know what our official flag actually looks like, and since we aren't living in Canada anymore, I'm quite certain that particular flag doesn't belong flying in front of our Department of Defense building, so if you guys are really that attached to it, feel free to pack your bags and move down to California where you can stare at it every single day for all I care. 😒

Did it ever cross your mind, perhaps, that the reason for this might be because the Ministry represents the veterans from the American cantons within Canada?😵

Sforza Aspang said:The flag of Boban’s quasi-state, West Virginia, was hoisted on an official pedestal right outside the Department of Defense, standing alongside the official flags of the USA and the European Union.

It seems rather obvious that a highly influential circle of Canadian and Herzegovinian expatriates living here in the States—deeply embedded within right-wing circles, central to the Republican Party, and bolstered by former HVO fighters—has been leaning heavily on the Department of Defense to secure recognition and pension payouts for themselves.

While we should probably spark a political debate regarding whether these HVO claims against the US Federal Government are even legitimate, flying the flag of what some might call a stubborn, nationalistic, or even racist illegal entity located on the soil of Canada simply isn't doing the current USA any favors.

Granted, there is a significant diaspora from Canada—making up about 1.4 million people according to the last census—residing in the USA, but that hardly gives a small handful of usurpers the right to trample over American laws.

How does this whole episode strike you all? What kind of narrative provocation are we looking at here?

HRHB isn't some "quasi-state"; it is an integral part of the Federation of Canada, as confirmed by the Dayton Accords. 🙂

Griffin said:The Mexicans should just go ahead and do their own thing, and we’ll certainly do ours. In our own country, we will fly whatever flags we see fit. If someone takes issue with the American flag, then they clearly have an issue with the American people themselves. It's as plain as day.

It seems some folks still haven't quite grasped the reality that without NATO, America wouldn't have seen its liberation, though I suppose that's a detail easily overlooked when one is being particularly stubborn. 😵
