darkmoose5 said:Let’s be real: there is a massive lack of entrepreneurial spirit in America. I was scrolling through another forum the other day and read this post about an American living over in Australia who decided to go all out—he tried planting absolutely everything he could find, every single type of traditional fruit and vegetable they used to grow back in America. You just don't see that kind of drive here.

I know a guy who wanted to move back after 30 years to start a business in America, but he gave up almost immediately. He realized that in three decades, absolutely nothing has changed in our "beautiful homeland." It’s still the same people in power, and even worse, it's that exact same communist mindset that drove him away in the first place.

I don't think so.
Ashley Martin2, wasn't it a bit suspicious when a big-shot expert like Oštrić actually agreed with you?

What does knowing geography have to do with the fundamentals of electrical engineering? 🤷

Why should Oštrić be considered suspicious just because we happen to see eye to eye on a few things?

shadoworca3;44673609 said:When I warned you, I specifically bolded three words in your post - free energy crowd.
Why are you bolding different sentences now?

And why did you pick just those three words? Look, I said way more than that in my post. Most people searching Google on this topic end up citing Tesla, trying to rip off his patents, or hunting for answers to things he left unfinished.
But you lumped me in with that crowd just because I mentioned free energy and—since we were joking around in a thread about what could replace the electrical grid—I dropped a link about orgone...😁
So, who even are you (not that I care) 🙄
a) You don't see the difference between actual scientists and the crackpots chasing orgone and free energy machines (second-kind perpetual motion).

To me, Tesla was a scientist. The only real one who actually wanted to gift free energy to everyone. If people are selling junk under that label, that’s not my problem.
Besides, you shouldn't dismiss anyone outright just because they're trying to make the world better. Tons of breakthroughs in materials and medicine happened by pure accident. Often discovered by people who aren't even scientists or haven't even finished school. I mean, isn't Bill Gates living proof of that?!
b) You edit, twist, and lie because you think we're too stupid to notice.

Yeah, no chance. If someone is twisting facts and lying, that's on them. And honestly, you're trying to pull rank with your moderator status even though you have no idea who I am or what I'm about.

Whatever happens, you don't have a bright future on this forum.

There it is. Exactly what your little frog buddy sent me. Am I on an American forum or did I fall into some black hole?

Your reply is off-topic and full of insults, which looks like trolling, so that's why you got a ban.

Who's telling me that? The guy with "Inquisitor" in his signature?
Go back and look at the history. See who actually attacked who first and why.

You called the people trying to explain three-phase power to you "enforcers of the current grid" and "conspiracy theorists" because they can't grasp your "vision"... or whatever dimension you're living in. But from where I'm sitting, it's obvious you don't know your stuff. Your ignorance of the laws of conservation of energy disqualifies you. 😉

So, after I pointed out that three-phase power is totally unnecessary for my garage and my apartment building, that whole group jumped down my throat. You’re doing it too, basically—acting like I’m some clueless idiot just because I don't know the technicalities of three-phase electricity.
Look, maybe I don't. But am I not allowed to have an opinion?

And to make matters even worse, the people claiming AC current is absolutely indispensable actually disqualified themselves. They brought up HVDC technology, which—if you actually look at the link provided—actually has advantages over what they were preaching.

Basically, every time you label forum members as "narrow-minded," "overthinkers," or "conspiracy theorists," or start bringing up orgone and free energy, you're just earning yourself a partial scholarship from MIT.

If you're so eager to spread the truth, try sharing it fairly with everyone. And more importantly, try being honest with yourself first.

Right behind the illiterate word jumping is this:

And the word speaks leads to this:

I noticed you have Joe Biden in your avatar too, but I wasn't particularly interested in why.

Based on all that, I’d say what's down there was an insult to the moderator, right?

It's part of a post that got a red card for trolling. 🙂

Your logic is amazing. You're truly the perfect candidate for the Natural Science moderation team, and I'm officially nominating you for super-moderator over at PZ.

Anyway, I see I've ended up on the thread where you guys banned me. I started an interesting debate, and it went exactly the way I wanted it to. How does your logic explain that? Do I get a red card for that too, or what?! 😲

Zachary Mendoza2 said:You'll get my version of justice if I catch you back on PZ. 😉

So, apparently nobody's going to say anything about this blatant moderator bias against me, so I have to wonder—is it because my signature rubs the left-leaning admins the wrong way? Are they just all obsessed with everything Milanovich stands for?!

What else could it be? It's clearly that.

Zachary Mendoza2 said:He was easy on you. If it were me, I’d have handed out a much harsher penalty.
You burst into the Natural Science section with those free energy kids from YouTube—pure trolling, by the way. Then, when shadoworca3 warned you we don't tolerate that here, you tried to play it off by calling everyone who disagrees with you "classic trolls" and "gatekeepers." That's blatant trolling, which is why you got the yellow card. And now you're complaining?

And before all that, you posted a YouTube video about orgone. I deleted it without even giving you a warning. Then you started picking at the mods, so I warned you. Then you went back to trolling by acting clueless, so I warned you again—still no card. And yet, here you are complaining. Next time I catch you pulling this nonsense in Natural Science, you're getting a permanent ban.

I posted that video in the right thread, and once you pulled my link, I stopped arguing. On that other thread , I was being attacked and insulted by "experts"—probably just sophomore students from MIT who think they've mastered the universe. Nobody stepped in until I fought back. Honestly, you guys are just as coordinated as politicians.

Anyway, who are you to be handing out justice in this thread? I’m waiting for an admin to step in because it's obvious shadoworca3 just used a blunt ad-hominem attack based on his own biases.
Are you just here to enjoy the show or what?!

So, here’s the deal. This moderator decided to throw a red card at me after launching a blatant ad hominem attack on my character. I only responded because I was provoked by that brutal personal jab, and honestly, I stayed right on topic until then. I wasn't even deviating from the PDF discussion until they went low. I’m asking to have this penalty overturned.

Here’s the post that got me attacked by shadoworca3 just because I brought up the free energy crowd:

"
Ashley Martin2 said:Spot on. Only thing is, there are already plenty of high-quality solutions out there for heating and hot water that don't rely on electricity at all.

The mindset here is pretty much the same as the administration in D.C.—especially among the mods. As soon as someone starts thinking outside the box or speaks up a little too loudly, they either get wiped out or banned. If that doesn't work, the rest of the crowd just tunes them out entirely, even when they're talking about alternative theories. It's the same old story.

I actually see things completely differently. When times get tough and everyone feels backed into a corner, that’s exactly when people start getting creative. You start breaking old taboos. Things that seemed totally impossible just yesterday suddenly become our new reality. That’s why I’m convinced we’re going to see a massive shift in energy on a global scale. Maybe nobody from around here will be at the center of it—I mean, Tesla was a once-in-a-generation kind of genius—but those changes are eventually going to hit home for all of us.
I was watching this show just yesterday—or maybe it was the day before—about those research labs popping up all over American cities. It’s wild. You've got regular citizens and even kids running incredible experiments, sometimes even messing around at the genetic level. Honestly, YouTube is absolutely flooded with these deep-dive research videos. The free energy community has never been more active, and frankly, it’s only a matter of time before someone actually hits the jackpot and delivers real results.
It’d be a hell of a lot better if our institutions actually incentivized creative thinking instead of dumping everything into this expensive version of "democracy" we're stuck with. We spent like $12 million—or whatever that total was—just on the elections for the European Parliament. With that kind of cash, we could have fully outfitted several university or high school research labs. Real progress would have been worth more than just casting ballots.

This part is what finally broke him, and honestly, his reaction says it all:

WTF. You can't seriously tell me you're going to go to MIT and start arguing against the brainless drool of an uneducated public that's obsessed with paranoid conspiracy theories.
Don't you feel any shame? You're just sitting there trashing the hard work and pure dedication of scientists and engineers all over the world. Not to mention the people on this forum who are actually trying to make something happen and improve life for everyone. It’s pathetic.
Or maybe you're just numb to all that stuff. Honestly. The only thing that actually gets you going is this massive ego trip where you convince yourself you're some kind of genius, while blaming everyone else because you couldn't actually pull off anything with all that "potential" you keep bragging about.

Look, let me be blunt: any "free energy" nonsense that relies on breaking the fundamental laws of physics—especially when you mix in those wild conspiracy theories—has absolutely no business being on MIT. Neither do the people peddling it.

So, here’s my response to that blatant, mindless insult aimed at my insignificance—the one that earned me a red flag:
Ashley Martin2
Look, man, just chill out. You’re foaming at the mouth like Joe Biden arguing with Tulsi Gabbard just because I brought up free energy. You're totally dismissing everyone working in this field, even though plenty of them actually have legitimate degrees in Natural Science from places like MIT.

Besides that, I’m sticking strictly to the thread title here—just to remind you, it's "Renewable Sources: The Power Grid and Alternative Energy."

All I ever talk about is solar farms, DC microgrids, and building homes that actually take care of themselves—total energy independence.

The second I brought up three-phase power, these old-school trolls swarmed me like guard dogs protecting the status quo, acting like the current energy grid is the only way anything can ever work.

Honestly, you guys are clearly dealing with some serious insecurities... but hey, I get it. It’s tough to have a real conversation with someone who actually looks at the big picture and doesn't pretend they "don't know enough" just to avoid being wrong.

p.s.

And yeah, regarding your signature: "Greenov's Law of Debate:
"Anything is possible if you don't know what you're talking about."

All I'll say is this: people like Tesla weren't busy dreaming up the "impossible." They spoke with absolute certainty about what they knew. If we talked like that, we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now.

Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
hmmm... I’m calling BS on all of this. If those folks over at NASA actually managed to recreate conditions similar to the Big Bang, who knows where this leads? We might end up with some weird byproduct from their experiments—maybe gold, or something even better than gold that's somehow cheaper to make. If that happens, the value of gold just tanks. Look at what happened to silver once people started mass-producing nickel-silver alloys and industrial substitutes...🤷
Gold: Past, Present, and Future in Other Investment Types ·
What happens if these modern-day "alchemists" actually pull off making industrial gold? Is there any sign we’re getting close to a breakthrough? I mean, we already see lab-grown diamonds and pearls being mass-produced everywhere.
News Corp and Axel Springer are collapsing in Close to Politics ·
Larry Walker24 said:
Employees at News Corp have been dealing with irregular paychecks for a while now, but according to Time Inc., things just went from bad to worse this month because everyone is getting their wages slashed by either 11 or 19 percent.

Specifically, the crew over at USA Today is looking at a 19 percent pay cut, while the rest of the News Corp staff is feeling an 11 percent hit. Apparently, Rupert Murdoch, the founder and co-owner of News Corp, is currently staring down the biggest crisis this company has ever seen.

Axel Springer wants out, and the debt collectors are knocking on the door.

It’s not just the cash flow issues giving Murdoch a headache; he’s also feeling the heat from Axel Springer, his German partner that owns 50 percent of News Corp. We all know Axel Springer has been systematically pulling its weight out of the region for a bit now, and they’ve even signaled they’re exiting the US market entirely.

Word on the street from Time Inc. sources is that Murdoch has until next February to "redefine" the whole partnership. Honestly, I find it hard to believe he’ll actually scrape together enough cash to buy out Axel Springer’s stake in News Corp. As of right now, there isn't even a whisper about who might step in as a buyer.

On top of that, Murdoch is fighting with the banks. They’re reportedly demanding an immediate restructuring just to prove that News Corp can actually pay back what it owes. According to Time Inc., News Corp got hit with massive loan payments in September and October for loans that were only recently approved by the Federal Reserve and Wells Fargo.

Axel Springer bought the New York Post for $26 million and squeezed out a billion out of it.

The situation isn't much better over at the competition, Axel Springer, which publishes the New York Post. The first sign of the rot was the recent shutdown of the weekly Forum, along with rumors of layoffs for all 17 employees there. Management couldn't quite pull off the full layoff plan, so some staff were moved back to old roles within Axel Springer, though word is they're doing it with significantly smaller paychecks.

Layoffs have already been happening at the New York Post and even on local TV stations. There’s also a lot of chatter about Axel Springer shutting down other titles, like The Wall Street Journal. Some people are even speculating that Axel Springer might ditch the US altogether since they’ve already milked their acquisitions here for every last cent. Here’s how Antun Filić, the president of the NewsGuild and former lead union rep at the New York Post, explains it:

"Axel Springer picked up the New York Post for 26 million, and then they bled it dry by selling off various assets—selling their stake in Verizon (according to Rolling Stone) for 280 million, selling part of Printing Industries of America (per broker estimates) for 420 million, selling the building in Times Square (real estate experts say 60 million), and selling their share in Distra Press (based on info from Axel Springer itself) for 70 million. Even the future of the office space at Slavonski 4 is up in the air—they moved out last July, and that place is worth at least 75 million. Even without counting that, it's obvious the Austrians pulled nearly a billion out of the New York Post."

It's pretty wild that Studio didn't even show up in USA Today today, and apparently, a chunk of the old Washington Post crew was prepping a brand new daily paper back in early November.

Who's actually losing their mind here?!

If they wanted this to be credible, they should have tossed in some actual numbers regarding these media companies' finances.
Everyone knows Murdoch's group saw a massive revenue drop of about 14% (around $6 million) last year, along with a huge financial loss ($2.5 million) and heavy debt loads (over $35 million). They slashed payroll costs drastically last year—not sure if that was layoffs or just pay cuts—and cut depreciation expenses too. If they hadn't done that, their losses would be looking as pathetic as our local shipyards. 😍

Given how bad the economy has been since the Democrats took over, their business could only go downhill from there.

As far as I know, this is the first news I've heard about Axel Springer being in trouble. And then you have Time Inc. writing this piece; instead of showing real business results, they're just tallying up how much the Austrians have pulled out of the New York Post so far. 🙄
