Nausea and back pain in Health ·

I’m a long way from being my grandmother...🙂

Well, I believe I was responding to the initial post, but one should keep in mind that these issues aren't exclusive to the elderly...

It could also be a heart attack; my grandmother had similar symptoms, where she initially thought it was just stomach issues, but after getting checked out at the hospital, they told her it was actually a minor heart attack...

🤣, I was actually thinking about constipation.

Maybe it’s just temporary, maybe it's just seasonal... If you start experiencing more serious symptoms—like dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or feeling weak—it would be best to see a doctor. I only asked about your heart because I have a friend who went through something similar; they had to wear a Holter monitor, and it turned out their frequent extra beats weren't harmless at all. They had to go in for much more intensive testing before getting a final diagnosis... I don't mean to scare you, I just want to be careful...

Have you checked your blood pressure? Your iron levels? Blood sugar?
Have you been spending a lot of time staring at a computer screen or the TV?
Were you under any harsh lighting, like those bright studio lights?
Are you getting regular, restful sleep?
Do you struggle with anxiety or depression?
Are you following a specific diet?
Are you staying hydrated enough? And do you deal with constipation?
Have you recently traveled across different time zones?
Have you had your thyroid levels checked?
Do you have any allergies?
Any history of heart issues?
Those are just a few things to consider...😁

I really think the forum should implement a star rating system, just so we can highlight our most active and high-quality contributors...

No, I went to the general hospital in San Diego. Regardless, the referral just specifies an initial consultation. I'll be waiting a long time anyway, so it doesn't really matter... thanks

stormycrane3 said:What led you to make a move like that? I guess, maybe, it’s a matter of self-confidence? Are you feeling a bit unsure of yourself? What exactly is holding you back from taking the leap? I wonder, what's your own take on yourself?

Why would someone who doesn't care about going out or chasing those things be lacking confidence or feeling insecure? That seems like such shallow thinking... and what about all those people who are constantly out on the town, getting wasted—are they suddenly the ones who are truly confident and secure?🙄you can think what you want

It would be safer to just take those lenses out, since there is always a risk of complications...
Thanks for the response. Since I've been dealing with some heart issues, my doctor gave me a referral for a cardiologist, and it's marked for a specialist consultation. Does anyone know exactly what that entails? Is it just an EKG and an echocardiogram...
I heard from an elderly lady in the waiting room that patients are only allowed to receive three referrals per year, is there any truth to that?
So, what kind of diet are you actually following? Did you consult with a doctor first, or are you just winging it on your own? You might find yourself missing certain foods you cut out, because I truly believe you shouldn't eliminate anything entirely—it's better to just scale back gradually...
What should I tell my doctor if I want to get a basic eye exam? Just the essentials—visual acuity, field of vision, fundus examination... I'd rather not go to a private clinic since it's just too expensive.

It could just be a muscle twitch, or maybe your heart skipped a beat... it’s likely nothing serious, I deal with something similar quite often myself
Intestinal parasites in Health ·
As far as I know, you can't catch cat roundworms directly since they're a different species; you really just pick up the eggs from their fur. That’s why you always have to watch out for cats and dogs if you're growing lettuce in your garden, as they're such common carriers for parasites. I honestly have no idea how that guy ended up with a worm in his nose... he must have had a massive infestation.

edit: Oh man, especially be careful with those lettuce sandwiches. Most of the time, the greens aren't even washed properly, if they're washed at all. I never eat takeout, absolutely never... I just don't trust them. They're only interested in their bottom line, and they couldn't care less about hygiene or public health much less than profit.

Ugh, that’s honestly the easiest way to pick up parasites, especially worms. There are all sorts of them in the soil just waiting for a chance to infect you, particularly if someone isn't being careful about hygiene outdoors... I actually heard about cases where pinworms frequently show up in public playgrounds; I guess kids don't always wash their hands properly, making it so easy to catch them. The most common one is the large roundworm, which can grow up to 16 inches long, so it's definitely better to deal with it immediately before they start multiplying in your gut and you end up vomiting them up—which is just a total nightmare. I once saw a cat throw up a worm and it made me wonder how often this happens with people, though I suppose it's probably not that common...
