Joshua Taylor10 said:Thanks for the quick reply, iva0404... but here’s the thing: when I look under Services, I don’t see any option for tax auditing (all I have is e-filing, EU systems, receipt verification, VAT user lookup, and VAT ID checks). Either I’m a complete moron, or something is seriously broken on this site.
The IRS website mentioned earlier today that they were running into some processing issues with filings, but those should have been resolved by now... I wonder if maybe that's what's causing this?
Joshua Taylor10 said:Listen, folks, I’m reaching out because I could really use some help here. I’m trying to register my commercial space through the IRS portal, but honestly? Between all the reading and searching, I’m just spinning my wheels. It seems like if I go under the Forms section, there should be a subcategory for Fiscalization to get this moving... but for some reason, that option just isn't showing up on my screen. Do I need to upload something first? Install a specific software? Fill out a preliminary filing? I’m completely stuck.
If you log into the portal and look at the bottom of the home screen, you'll see a section called SERVICES, and right underneath that, there's an option for Fiscalization—specifically for registering business locations. That’s the one you want to click to enter the registration application. It isn't actually located under the Forms tab.
I’ve been thinking about our fiscal compliance procedures lately. I was actually away on vacation recently, and while I was out, some colleagues of mine issued a transaction receipt instead of a proper fiscalized receipt for a customer who paid in cash. Once they realized the mistake, they voided the transaction receipt and issued a new fiscal one, but there's a bit of a discrepancy: the invoice date is listed as July 7th, even though the actual fiscalization didn't happen until July 10th. I suppose I'm wondering if this constitutes a formal error on our part. Usually, I would just go ahead and void the whole thing myself, which means I'd be held responsible for the discrepancies in the accounts and the cash drawer, but since I wasn't around, I didn't step in. Now I'm feeling a little uncertain about whether I should just leave things as they are or if we need to take further action, especially since the sequence of the invoices remains perfectly intact without any gaps in between.
It keeps telling me that we aren't maintaining our own books, even though we actually are! I've been looking all over to figure out how to fix this, but I just can't seem to find an option within my profile settings to update it... I wonder if anyone might be able to help me out?

It seems it’s only necessary for those under the fiscalization mandate. If you aren't processing any cash transactions, I believe you don't need to worry about registering the physical space.
As of December 31, 2016, it shows up as an active subscription, yet I can't find any trace of the 2015 records on my statement at all... how is that even possible?
I was wondering if anyone might have some insight into why our FARC corporate tax from last year is still showing up as an outstanding item in our subscription? We definitely made the payment, but we haven't received any kind of official confirmation or resolution notice yet
Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this delay?

The system keeps flagging an error claiming a business space with that exact designation already exists. Has anyone else run into this specific glitch?
Additionally, regarding the activity code section, it keeps demanding both the start date for the OD and the start date for the DO ... I'm left wondering which date they actually want here. Is it the official commencement of operations, or just today's date? :-) Managing these dates is a total nightmare because their calendar interface is incredibly clunky—even on my machine, and I'm running Chrome... what a complete headache 😢
I suppose you should just put today's date everywhere, but leave the end date blank since the business hasn't ceased operations or anything like that. Does that make sense?
If you're having trouble managing those dates, maybe try zooming out by holding down the CTRL key and scrolling your mouse wheel... that way, you might be able to see the entire calendar properly, which should make picking a date a bit more intuitive.
As for the business premises code, I can't say for certain because I only have one fixed location with the code 01, and the system just automatically pulled that information from the database into the field where you enter the premises details.
dustyscout8 said:Larry Edwards3, you're right... it isn't working for us either. We've been trying everything, but we're getting nowhere. And what exactly are we supposed to enter in the opening date field? The system is forcing us to select today's date, which makes absolutely no sense if we're trying to input the actual start date of operations.
It’s clear the system hasn't actually gone live yet. Did you happen to get someone on the phone who could confirm that this functionality is still broken?
At this rate, how are we ever going to finish entering all this data for our entire client list? They are losing their minds over here!
Hey, just wanted to give a quick heads-up—it finally worked for me!!! I just double-checked everything. Give it another shot 🙂

I haven't reached out to them just yet.
You should enter today's date, or rather, the specific date when you are verifying the information. It's not meant to be the actual opening date.
Luckily, I only handle my own small LLC, so while it's tiny, I'm really hoping they fix this glitch soon so I can finally get everything submitted.
I wonder if there might be some sort of issue on our end with technical support? Maybe something involving Java or Firefox, I'm not entirely sure.
I’m having a bit of trouble trying to enter my address details within the shipping area; I just can't seem to select a city or fill out any of those specific fields because the dropdown menus aren't appearing at all. I was wondering if anyone else is running into this same issue?
Even that little link for the interactive map isn't working for me—it just shows some orange script error message right underneath it instead of loading the map properly.
Everything else on the form seems to be working perfectly fine, though.
I’m having a bit of trouble entering my data regarding the mailing address; I can't seem to select a city or anything else because the drop-down menus just aren't appearing in those fields. I guess I was wondering if anyone else is running into this same issue?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has tried filing their business workspace registration through the IRS website today?
I managed to get through most of it, but once I reached the section where I have to input my operating hours, the layout seems a bit off—I can't see the full pop-up window on my screen. I went ahead and entered my schedule for Monday through Friday, but the "SUBMIT" button at the bottom is completely cut off, so I’m stuck and unable to save any of my information.
I suppose I'm just curious if this might be some kind of technical glitch on their end, or if maybe I'm just missing something obvious?
I was looking at my tax portal earlier and noticed that several sales tax forms are still listed as being processed, even though they were supposedly finalized quite some time ago... I wonder if this is just a normal part of the system's lag? How has your experience been with the processing times lately?
From what I can gather, it seems like I was supposed to send a message directly to the IRS... but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to actually send a message through the app. I feel like I've scrolled through every single menu and setting, yet I just can't seem to find that specific option anywhere... maybe I'm just losing my mind a little bit, haha...
Just a quick heads-up for everyone: starting July 1st, 2017, any business required to follow fiscalization rules must submit their commercial space details and information regarding their software provider or maintainer electronically. This is all being handled through the IRS electronic service, as mandated by Articles 19 and 19.a of the Cash Reporting Act.
Does anyone know how we're actually supposed to send this over to the IRS? I'm wondering if there will be a specific form provided, or if it's still too early to actually get anything submitted before the July 1st deadline hits?
For those of you currently managing your tax compliance law requirements through Silicon Valley, I was wondering if anyone could clarify what needs to be done regarding those new protocols? I actually picked up my certificate from the IRS a few months back, and everything has been running smoothly so far, but I can't help but wonder if there are additional steps I should be taking right now.
I’m honestly a little worried that things might just stop working once we hit January 9th.
Steven Anderson14 said:So, what’s the game plan for handling this stuff at Silicon Valley: 1. Changes to the tax compliance law: They're rolling out new requirements for how businesses report their physical locations, plus we have to hand over details about who actually makes and maintains our software.
2. Heads up—starting January 9th, fiscalization won't run on anything older than Windows 7. I'm currently running Windows 10. Do I need to install anything else to stay compliant?
I suppose I was wondering if it's necessary to resubmit data regarding our business locations if absolutely nothing within the company has changed since the initial rollout? We have just one single business location for which the data was originally submitted back when everything started in 2013. Thanks so much.
