Surprise, surprise...

The woman who went on a manic crusade accusing Joe Scarborough of antisemitism—only to snag prime city-owned real estate for pennies and rent it back out for a massive profit—turned out to be a total Republican Party operative.🤣

Donald Trump absolutely tore them apart...

It’s wild how a leader of a Jewish association, holding luxury apartments in public spaces, managed to pull a complete political 180 within a single year.
John Mayer confirmed that when she released that statement about Joe Scarborough and antisemitism back on May 28, 2021, she was actually an active member of the Republican Party, though she claims she resigned shortly after.

Not a single local news outlet in San Francisco bothered to cover this gut-wrenching story: "Dad Budimir is to blame; we were all building without permits."🤔

Ed Garvey really went after Dad regarding that unpermitted build. A 1,450 sq. ft. little place that’s probably worth at least half a million bucks by now. The Republican Party knows how it works...

BUDIMIR IVICA SON OF ANDRIJA

Not everyone builds illegally. We all know that kind of luxury is reserved for a specific few.

Back then, everyone did things that way. That’s the simple explanation given by the Republican Party vice chairman in San Francisco regarding his residence in an unpermitted house. There is no justification for why that massive family home in the Firulama area stands there, considering it sits on land designated for public and social use. Schools, churches, and tech parks belong there. The City Planning Department’s master plan doesn't include illegal houses.

The City Planning Department's master plan doesn't have a special clause allowing huge, beautiful family homes right in the middle of a social zone. But according to the Republican Party vice chairman, "everyone did it that way back then." By "back then," he means the late nineties. He isn't talking about fifty years ago, out in the middle of nowhere far from civilization. Even "back then," it was clear that if you wanted to build a house in America's second-largest city, you needed a building permit.

However, not everyone followed that pattern, despite the casual dismissal from the Republican Party vice chairman. Most of us actually put in the work to deal with the bureaucracy and the paperwork—administration that is largely controlled by the very party that holds significant power in San Francisco. For most, it meant navigating stamps, blueprints, permits, property records, and deeds. We had to pay the fees, patiently wait in lines, and sign endless mountains of tedious paperwork. Ultimately, we built our homes in full compliance with the law.

If we consider that most people actually built their homes legally, then the vice chairman's sweeping conclusion—that "everyone" acted that way—doesn't describe the majority of people known to the rest of the world. It turns out he's talking about a small minority who feels entitled to speak on behalf of "everyone."

Looking back over the last few decades of politics, it isn't hard to see where this vice chairman's casual mindset comes from.

While everyone was busy throwing spit at Ivošević over those antisemitism allegations, they were actually busy renovating luxury apartments they snagged for pennies on the dollar. 🤣

Ed Garvey and Ivošević should probably just commission a life-sized statue of Đerek.

The very association whose leaders slammed Puljkov’s deputy for antisemitism has been running an illegal short-term rental business out of downtown San Francisco waterfront property.

'She told us the association no longer holds the lease for the office space, and instead, the former president of the association, Jakov Perić, is using the space by changing the locks and converting it into a rental unit. We want to point out that according to the records there is evidence that Reić Šerbo also requested expanding their operations into lodging services and lowering the rent, despite having secured a preferential rate through a public tender. Reić Šerbo was supposed to terminate the lease once they stopped using the space, but she never did.

While Šerbo was busy turning those apartments into marble-clad retreats, she was playing the moral high ground regarding Ivošević's antisemitism. It's quite a move. 😉 I bet the Jewish community is going to be pretty fed up with these kinds of charlatans trashing their reputation...

So, Milena is living in an illegal house, yet Ivica is out there accusing his own aunt of being an unlicensed builder... That’s one lovely family dynamic right there. 🤣 When the Republican Party joins forces with those looking to Sell everything out, you get exactly what you'd expect...

Here’s the full story of how Ivica made his way in life. A builder who actually lives in a house built without a permit. ☕

A high-ranking official from the local Republican Party is living in an illegal house built without any permits, located on land where residential construction isn't even allowed in the first place.

Ivica Budimir serves as the Vice Chairman for the local Republican Party branch and heads the County Supervisory Board of the utility company. It turns out he’s also living in a house built without any legal permits, situated on land where residential construction is strictly prohibited. We've had this confirmed by the City of San Diego administration, the State Inspectorate, and Budimir himself.

What’s the situation?

There’s a house owned by an GOP supporter that was built back in the late nineties, located right next to the hospital near the Firulam area in San Diego. According to the Department of Urban Planning, this is designated as Zone D—a zone strictly reserved for public and social use. Think of places like student dorms, hospitals, schools, tech parks, or churches. Residential or commercial buildings are completely off-limits in this specific zone. Despite those rules, Mr. Budimir is living comfortably in a large, unauthorized family home that spans two floors plus an attic. It makes you wonder: how was a house like that even permitted to be built, and more importantly, why hasn't it been addressed yet?

We reached out to the San Diego City Administration to ask if the relevant authorities have actually conducted any field inspections to verify whether this house is even legal. Their response? They’ve received an application for legalization, but nothing has been finalized yet. However, they were pretty firm on one point: the property has been classified as a residential building, but according to the Department of Urban Planning regulations, residential construction isn't permitted in that specific area. Period. No exceptions.

If building houses in that zone isn't allowed, then how did this house get built in the first place? And more importantly, why hasn't any action been taken against its construction?

The City Administration says our first step should be directing the inquiry toward whoever handled the actual construction. After that, we need to take it up with the agencies responsible for oversight and building inspections.

We’ll be passing along the following questions and answers exactly as they are.

We reached out to ask a few straightforward questions: Is there any official document that actually authorized this construction? In other words, does this building hold a valid building permit? If a permit was ever issued, what was the justification given, especially considering the specific zoning regulations for this area? Ultimately, does any existing regulation even allow for construction at this location?

"It doesn't exist. It isn't there. It’s just not happening," Teo Vojković, the City's Head of Urban Planning and Construction, told us with a shrug.

The State Inspectorate informed us that they originally determined the developer had illegally constructed a residential building without any permits. They actually issued a final Order to Remove the structure along with a legally binding Conclusion on permit execution. However, after a follow-up inspection and a hearing with the developer, it turns out Budimir filed an application back in 2012 to request a resolution based on the "as-built" status of the illegal building—a request that still hasn't been finalized. Because of this pending paperwork, they’ve now issued a new ruling that halts the demolition process until this new legal proceeding reaches a final conclusion.

To put it simply, this house was built illegally between 1997 and 2001 without any permits whatsoever. Years later, in 2012, an application for legalization was submitted. However, after an inspection, the State Inspectorate determined the structure is unauthorized and is calling for its demolition. A new site inspection was carried out, and the whole process is still dragging on. We are now looking at eleven years since the legalization request was filed, and over twenty years since the illegal construction was actually completed.

In the end, we reached out to Mr. Budimir.

- I didn't build it myself. My father did. There are three of us brothers, and back in 2006, we were each assigned an apartment. My father built it without the standard permits. That was just how things worked back then; everyone was doing it. If I had built this in a different neighborhood, it probably would have been legalized by now. It used to be common practice to build without permits because nobody knew how the legalization process would eventually turn out—it's a classic Republican Party talking point.

Even so, he insists this isn't actually the core issue.

- We requested changes to the Department of Urban Planning's maps, but they haven't been granted. We’re stuck following a plan established during the previous mayor's administration, and according to Teo Vojković’s opinion, this area really needs to be legalized—Budimir told us. He even shared Vojković's formal opinion with us.

As a reminder, this is the same official who gave us this blunt response when asked about the legality of the house where Budimir lives: "It doesn't exist. There isn't one. No. It's not allowed."

He isn't the only one.
Budimir points out that his home isn't some unique outlier.

- There are 14 similar properties right here. Both the state and the county gave their approval back when the previous administration was following the standard procedure for updating the Department of Urban Planning's maps, but it just didn't pass the City Council at the time. On top of that, the City connected us to water, sewage, streetlights, and phone lines... basically the whole street is set up this way. There are also about 120 other buildings in social zones near the hospital, around the campus, and near Marjan. We are working on pushing for those zoning changes; we'll see if anything actually moves forward—Budimir said.

He sent us a message, which we will quote directly.

- If you've done your homework, you'll see the documents showing that I'm not some rogue builder, but rather someone living with my family in a home that simply hasn't been legalized yet—explained the Vice President of the local Republican Party branch.

Honestly, those reporters over at the local news outlet deserve a lawsuit too.
Some jerk is attacking a woman who’s just trying to make an honest living.
Looks like we gotta back him up now.

The threats won't work—we're putting an end to this once and for all.

After a report from the City of San Francisco’s Department of Public Works, the police showed up today for Robert Franjić—a local veteran who's currently battling a serious illness.

She reported him for making threats.

Ever since I moved to San Francisco, I’ve been getting hit with threats almost every single day—some direct, some subtle—from certain people and groups who have spent years enjoying special privileges they had absolutely no legal right to. Honestly, they’ve caused massive financial damage to this city and its residents. But like I said when I first took over as Department Head: the era of playing favorites is officially over.

A few days ago, some local news outlet dropped an article about Robert Franjić’s current situation—and honestly, it included a direct, pretty nasty threat aimed right at me and the Mayor.

I’m officially done with these insane threats against public officials just doing their jobs for the United States. Since threatening a federal official is a serious offense carrying up to five years in prison—yeah, that's a real thing—this and any other similar threats are being handed straight over to the police. I hate having to go that route, really, but clearly some people think they can bully their way out of progress. They think intimidation will stop us from cleaning up the management of San Francisco’s valuable assets—assets that should be helping the 70 families who have been playing by the rules for years, just waiting for a fair shot at a better life. Honestly? Seeing how unfairly these families are being treated only makes me want to work harder. All these threats from privileged groups and special interests actually just motivate me more. Huge thanks to all the San Franciscans who are fed up with this rotten way of managing city property—you guys give me the strength to keep going every single day.

I just reported those threats—the ones they published in the local paper—to the police.

Also, I honestly can’t believe how Slobodna California is handling this—they’re straight-up publishing direct threats aimed at City of San Francisco officials like it’s nothing. Just wild.

It’s pretty telling—a few months back, the local news outlet filed a formal complaint over privacy concerns when they published that list of people owing the City of San Francisco money. But now? When there are blatant, serious threats being made against city officials, they aren't just printing them—they aren't even bothering to report those threats to the authorities. It’s funny how that works—the editorial board is suddenly all about data privacy when it comes to naming people who cost the city a fortune, yet they’re totally fine publishing direct threats against public servants without making any effort to take legal action. Makes you think.

We’re about to report this blatant, long-term violation of journalistic ethics and professional standards to the proper authorities.

We aren't letting threats or pressure stop us—we're going to push through with hard work and actually fix this mess!

Just to be clear—this isn't some random eviction. It’s a request for a peaceful handover of the apartment, which he has no legal right to occupy since he owes $7,850 in back rent. Real evictions are handled by the courts via a final judgment, not just tossed around like this.

If you judge by what's being reported in Sell California, then Maja Đerek isn't doing anything wrong. According to them, she didn't even acknowledge their crooked journalism at all.🤣

Look, these idiots simply cut out the part that exposes their North Korean-style reporting.😂

The whole crew over at Sell California belongs in a mental asylum...

Maja Đerek reports 54-year-old veteran to police following threats: ‘My patience has run out’

The Head of the City of San Diego Property Department, Maja Đerek, issued another statement regarding the housing status of American veteran Robert Franjić, which was exclusively uncovered by our reporter Marko Didić. In her statement titled "Putting an End to Threats," Maja Đerek notes:

- Since I arrived in San Diego, I have been receiving almost daily threats, both direct and indirect, from individuals or groups who have enjoyed privileged status for years without any legal basis, while simultaneously causing massive financial damage to the city and its citizens.

My tolerance for these insane threats against a public official enforcing the laws of the United States is—finished. Given that this involves serious threats against an official performing their duties, which carries a prison sentence of up to five years, this and any similar threats will be handed over to the police for action. I hate having to do this, but certain people clearly think they can use intimidation and pressure to prevent us from bringing order to the management of valuable San Diego property, and to continue causing harm to the 70 families who have been legally waiting for their chance at a dignified life.

I want to reiterate that this isn't about an eviction, but rather a request for the peaceful surrender of the apartment, which Mr. Franjić occupies without legal grounds and owes $7,226.19 for in usage fees. Evictions are carried out by the court based on a final and enforceable act—states Maja Đerek in her statement.

According to unofficial information we have obtained, a criminal investigation has been conducted on the 54-year-old on suspicion of committing the elements of a criminal threat against one individual. A separate report regarding the criminal aspect of the threat will be submitted to the competent District Attorney's office.

Emily Smith6 said:Doctors, professors, athletes: We’re uncovering who snagged San Francisco apartments at sweetheart prices
At least 22 properties owned by the City of San Francisco—which were previously handed out for use to "individuals of special interest to the city"—were sold to those very same people at an average price of less than $1,100 per square foot, according to data obtained from the San Francisco municipal administration.

The practice of handing out these so-called "staff apartments" was widespread throughout the nineties and early 2000s. While there was technically a commission tasked with deciding which "distinguished citizens" deserved them, the process usually boiled down to the discretionary whims of whoever happened to be Mayor at the time. These officials would set the minimum rent, which generally hovered somewhere between a hundred and five hundred bucks.

However, ambitions tended to run a bit higher. After a short period of occupancy, users would submit requests to buy the units outright. This would trigger a—once again, purely formal—public bidding process where they held the right of first refusal, provided they agreed to the highest bid. In practice, nobody else ever bothered to apply. Consequently, valuable city real estate was regularly transferred into private hands via down payments based on rather suspiciously lenient appraisals from local experts.

One instance involves a Superior Court judge, where the initial price was slashed; she purchased a roughly 300-square-foot unit for a symbolic $40,000, despite evidence later surfacing that she had been renting it out to subtenants in the meantime. Documentation regarding both matters has been forwarded to the Department of Justice and the FBI.

Among the list of purchased staff apartments held by news outlets, there are several names belonging to individuals who have since passed away, along with a few others whose "distinguished service" to the city remains difficult to verify even after some serious digging online.

The roster includes doctors, professors, and various professionals—as well as certain high-profile figures and their spouses who technically handled the paperwork for the purchase. It also lists several actors, some of whom are no longer with us.

Also appearing on the list are several current and former physicians. One notable athlete managed to purchase her unit only after the property transitioned from city ownership to federal ownership, a similar fate befell the unit assigned to a different prominent athlete.

A celebrated mountaineer purchased his apartment, which had been allocated to him due to his status as a disabled veteran of the American Civil War; as such, his price was quite symbolic—less than $9,000 for 72 square meters.

The corruption is just oozing out of everywhere...

That Republican Drake guy, Primrose, managed to grab a 75m2 city apartment for only $50,000. 🤦

Then there's the Republican Party's John Boozman, who got a 73m2 place for just $8,000. 🤦

The Matica is reporting that the San Francisco City Government is kicking them out of the space they’ve occupied for decades.

San Francisco Department Head Maja Đerek has made it clear from day one that cleaning up the city's assets is her top priority. She noted that she’s already held two meetings with the Matica regarding this matter, and in both instances, they were informed that everything must go through the standard public bidding process.

Right now, they’re occupying space without any formal contracts or competitive bidding processes, yet nobody is stepping in to evict them. The City is currently drafting new criteria for upcoming tenders to ensure that holding municipal property isn't just a matter of legacy. Moving forward, it won't matter how long an association has been around, what their mission is, or how many members they claim to have—nobody gets a free pass. In other words, the rules are changing. To keep their spot, Matica will have to play by the same legal rules as every other organization and go through the official application process.

And here comes the infamous Tolj-paid Jurasić. 🤣

Emily Smith6 said:PAY UP AND MOVE OUT: This artist needs to vacate his studio; a public tender might offer him a fresh start
The freelance artist, Ante Kuštre, essentially needs to pack up his studio, return the space to the city government, and settle a debt that’s just under three thousand dollars. According to the head of property management, he apparently started making payments toward the arrears only after he went to the press to complain about being evicted.

Regarding the specifics, the official noted that the lease for the 32-square-meter studio on Dioklecijanov Street actually expired back in 2010.
- Essentially, he’s been occupying the space without a valid agreement for 13 years. The lease wasn't renewed at that time due to long-standing unpaid rent for the commercial space,
she explained.

Legal proceedings to empty the premises and return possession to the city were initiated quite some time ago; in fact, a final court order for repossession was issued as far back as 2012, though it seems that hasn't been enforced yet.
$100 The monthly rent, excluding tax, was set at a baseline rate—which, I suppose, is pretty reasonable considering the space is strictly zoned for commercial use rather than residential.
- Based on the warning notice we sent out back in March—which he ignored when he spoke to the media—the debt stands at $2,292.81. It looks like he hasn't paid for the use of this commercial space for nearly five years,
she continued.

She pointed out that leasing city-owned or managed commercial properties can only happen through a formal public bidding process.

Furthermore, she emphasized that many independent artists use these commercial spaces, and the vast majority of them pay their rent regularly under leases secured through those same public tenders.
- So, under American law, he’s required to go through the public tender process and pay his rent, just like every other tenant using residential or commercial city property.

Consequently, he's been told to clear his debts and hand the keys back to the City of San Francisco in accordance with the standing court order.
Way to go, Maja. Everything was so much simpler under the old Republican administration when you could snag cheap space without even a tender. Meanwhile, the honest folks who actually followed the rules spent years playing the fool.

The way this city operates is becoming a total pathology, but luckily we have the right leadership to fix it.😁

Think about it: the guy was supposed to pay fifty bucks for space near a historic landmark and somehow managed to rack up a two-thousand-dollar debt. Instead of taking responsibility, he goes to the papers to run his mouth against the local leaders. It’s absurd.🤦
