Eric Adams - Mayor of San Francisco in Political Scene ·
Sean Palmer67 said:Nah, all she did was confirm that those "saviors" are nothing but liars and manipulators. It was honestly sad watching them fall apart and lie yesterday over at Znjan. He's halfway through his term already, yet he's still acting like he's building walls around his own little kingdom—just broken promises everywhere.

Exactly. We need to bring back honest, capable leaders with Šut at the helm. The guy has proven himself in everything he touches—from handling Lećevica to cleaning up the local environment. He’s protected people's health and preserved our nature. As for the finances, the results speak for themselves.

2025. here we cooome... 😁

... and now she’ll be spending the next eight years sharing all that expertise and insight with Kamala Harris and John Doe over at the Federal Election Commission.

She’s been relentless when it comes to rooting out cronyism and looking out for her city, San Francisco...

I feel for her, honestly.

One day the headlines claim everyone is fleeing the administration, then the next day they’re shouting about how much it's thriving.🤣

The local activists who act like they own the place are clearly lost trying to keep up with the new leadership's decisions.

It’s no surprise that the old guard, along with their Republican Party cronies, got spooked that some fresh energy might actually disrupt their cozy little system of political favors.😁

THE ADMINISTRATION IS GROWING
The Mayor is adding six more permanent staff members; they're looking for five senior advisors and one clerk.

🤣

It's funny how people talk about competence.

The guy used to run the utility company, where his departure was slated for 2021, before moving on to lead the municipal water department. For years, he promised us a new filtration system. Now, whenever we get heavy rain, we’re stuck drinking unfiltered water.

Think about the health issues and the financial mess this individual has caused. 🤔

Hang in there.
It seems like the main opposition isn't just the local Republican Party, but rather the major media conglomerates and state institutions that act like they own the place—they'll try to take him down whenever they get the chance. ☕

Kate Gonzalez11 said:The reporting on our local news networks... what a complete joke.

Go check out the comment sections on major US news sites; you'll find everything from political rants to ridiculous memes of Putin looking like he has Hitler's mustache.

We haven't seen anything quite like this in the American media landscape before. It feels like Ukrainian news outlets are much less inflammatory in their coverage. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the ultimate goal of this kind of propaganda.😉

Thomas Morales8 said:Of course I wouldn't... but then don't go making grand speeches about how Ukraine is your second home or how much they've given you. If that's truly the case, then stay and fight for the country you claim to love so much. Don't just tuck your tail and run back to your original home...

Exactly. I worry there’s a lot of performative sentimentality surrounding Ukraine, but very little actual resolve to take decisive action. Unfortunately, for certain things, the window has already closed. It turns out a lot of people were just bluffing, except for the fact that Putin isn't 🤦

Joseph Cruz said:Reporter: That car in Kyiv didn't run over a Russian tank—it was actually a Ukrainian vehicle.

...The veteran war correspondent Elijah J. Magnier shared a similar account. "That is a Ukrainian FIM-92 Stinger and the driver simply wasn't paying attention when they pulled into the lane where the car was located," the seasoned reporter posted on Twitter....

If this turns out to be true, it’s an unprecedented level of smear campaigning.
The inflammatory journalism coming from Index has become downright nauseating. They haven't published a single piece that feels objective or informative lately. No reputable news outlet reports like this; it’s as if their sole purpose is to incite people.

They are just strictly following Plenki's political line regarding Ukraine and our own standing in all of this.

Nancy Gomez26 said:The West warned an invasion was coming, but I didn't buy it. (Why would you trust the same crowd that went looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and found absolutely nothing?) But this time, they were right. Defying all rational logic, he attacked, and he clearly has a specific agenda. It appears his goal is a rapid regime change in Kyiv, thinking that will be enough. He still hasn't grasped that the will of the people actually matters. Does he honestly think he can hold a country under occupation for years? That would economically bankrupt Russia.

In the long run, Putin doesn't stand a chance. This whole move is an idiocy that's going to come back to haunt him. I honestly don't get how the West and Ukraine were caught so off guard. Now that the gears of war are turning, there's no telling how many lives will be lost 🤦

Two days ago, Srna said this: Darijo Srna: Ukraine is like a second home to me, there's no way I'm leaving.

Fast forward to today, and here is the update: Srna and Vukojević have left Kyiv.

I'll let you guys draw your own conclusions.

Drew Booth60 said:Word is the Russians had something like 180,000 troops ready before the invasion, but according to Western intelligence, they're actually running with about a third of that—roughly 60,000 soldiers.

They managed to storm into Kyiv in less than 48 hours. Now, look, Ukraine is a massive country—it's huge—so I honestly find it strange how many people seem convinced that Russia is losing this thing. To be fair, I doubt NATO would have been any faster or more successful at it.

It’s pretty tough to pin down actual Russian losses, especially since the Ukrainians tend to release data without much proof—they've even been caught being dishonest a few times—so I'm leaning towards the idea that those Ukrainian numbers regarding Russian personnel and equipment are way overblown.

I was expecting much stiffer resistance and a lot more headaches for Russia, but maybe that's just starting to happen now with the fight for Kyiv. It still doesn't quite click for me why Putin decided to hit Ukraine with this level of force, considering most Russians actually feel some sympathy for them and see them as kin. Even though I think Russia is doing better than okay on the military front right now, all of this is probably going to end up causing more harm than good for Russia in the long run—and for Putin too.

Unfortunately, I tend to agree that this is the closest version of the truth.

The West and the Ukrainians seem more focused on Twitter and information warfare while the Russians continue their advance. They really should have prepared for all of this much more seriously. It looks like they were convinced right up until the last second that Putin was just bluffing.

POLITICS & CRIME
Telegram just exposed a brilliant move by the head of this Republican-led state firm: she changed a single word in the Employee Handbook so she can hire whoever she wants without any competition.

Telegram has uncovered an interesting maneuver by State Real Estate LLC, a company 100% owned by the US government that manages 6,630 federal properties, ranging from commercial spaces to apartments and residences. We've learned that at the start of the year, they tweaked their internal Employee Handbook specifically to allow the Board to bypass public job competitions moving forward.

Once they realized they’d been caught red-handed, it was really just a matter of when they’d try to salvage what's left of their reputation as the leading opposition news site. It's a total disgrace to actual journalism 😉

NBC—which is basically just an extension of Media Matters at this point—aired a segment on their flagship news show about the one party in America actually convicted of corruption. To make matters worse, they brought on three "independent" analysts who are clearly just mouthpiece for the Republican Party: Macan, Jug, and Maldini. 🤣

NBC basically claimed that 'The opposition's reaction to the verdict is nothing more than political grandstanding by people looking for easy points.'

Honestly, back in the days of ABC, even with all its flaws, you could still find a bit more objectivity than what we see now under the censorship of Marija Plenković. 😉

‘When it comes to Damir Juga, it's hard not to question his impartiality and flag a massive conflict of interest.’

Krešimir macan has officially stepped into a role as a special advisor to Prime Minister Plenković.

steelpanther722 said:It comes down to the massive voter turnout gap from the opposition side.
And honestly, Joe Biden is right when he claims today's Republican Party is nothing like the one during George W. Bush's era—Bush didn't fall because he was a crook, but because his actions stalled our entry into the European Union, and due to an obsession with Western Russia, that process was essentially put on hold.
Today, even if Republican corruption is just as bad, if not worse than fifteen years ago, the trick is that they’ll likely walk away scot-free. As long as Andrew remains the darling of Brussels, as long as he stays anti-Russian, and as long as there isn't any war or social unrest here, Republicans can sleep soundly. Long live the status quo! After all, the prosecution of George W. Bush only happened because of outside pressure, which simply doesn't exist anymore. ☕
The only real fix is mobilizing voters for the next midterm elections, much like what happened during the last local elections in Washington, D.C., and voting overwhelmingly for the opposition—even if you don't "ideologically" align with them—simply because you know they aren't criminals. Anyone with half a brain gets that.

X as a house👍

Keep in mind that Joe Biden's position will shift significantly once Angela Merkel leaves and the Democratic Party and Greens take over.

It looks like Plenković is rushing this VS ruling, almost as if he’s nervous about Dobronić getting a closer look at the case 🤣

Honestly, Plenković, Bandić had more backbone and integrity than you do 😁

You’re giving the Republican Party way too much credit. Honestly, if Bero hadn't pulled those wild stunts with the candidate lists just two weeks before the election—stuff that really turned voters off—Plenković would probably be sitting on some obscure committee in Brussels right now. The pre-election polls weren't lying; it was Bero's last-minute maneuvers that caused support to tank. Given how closely Bero and Bandić are linked, I wouldn't be surprised if those moves were calculated. Throw in the abysmal voter turnout due to COVID fears and Plenković’s blatant lies about having beaten the virus and getting life back to normal, and you have the perfect recipe for his 2020 "victory." But the honeymoon phase is over. The lies are starting to catch up with him, and the coming months are going to be rough for the Republicans. It'll look a lot like what Bandić went through during those final couple of years running Washington, D.C.
