Ashley Flores said:. I know a girl who does it on her feet too—honest to God—it’s a total train wreck to witness.
I'm dealing with the exact same thing.
Steven Ruiz said:Recycled toilet paper is just toilet paper made from recycled pulp. It’s a bit of a joke—honestly kind of a scam—but apparently, it’s supposedly better for the environment... if you believe that sort of thing.
😁
Yeah, sure—your face is probably just beet red from the freezing cold...
Look, I’m not saying your approach isn't valid... but why on earth do you think it is?
Blue Eyes said:That isn't quite my position... my position is that I won't lift anyone up out of mere pity... though I might lift them for other reasons...
By the way, I am lifting myself up... but that isn't even the point of this thread... you all took things far too literally (well, most of you)... my example regarding "lifting" was purely figurative... the real question here is where that impulse comes from—that drive in people to show respect, to care, to express compassion toward others... Jimmy claims it's consciousness... someone else argues it's humanity, but where does humanity originate, and what exactly compels us to act humanely?
Sophia Fox38, this is a philosophy forum, so please—try to push yourself a bit and actually engage in some deep thought... we aren't here to cast blame on one another for having differing viewpoints... rather, we are here to take the questions at hand and use them to scrutinize our own stances—to ask why we chose them in the first place, why we believe they are correct, and what foundational forces produced them...
Otherwise, go find the religion or politics forums...😉

We offer pity to others... in this instance, we pity them because they are elderly or physically limited... 🙄but isn't aging just a "natural" part of life?
Pity is incredibly patronizing. It isn't empathy... it’s an arrogant stance taken by someone who views themselves as being on a higher material plane... deciding to feel sorry for someone they deem "inferior"...
Do you honestly believe that is the "right" way to act?
I don't stand up for the elderly or the disabled, does that mean I don't care about anyone else?
