Vettel was definitely a serious contender in Formula 1.😉
Fernando Alonso is basically in General Motors' top tier right now, mostly because he’s the only one driving a junker.😍
Some people claim Fernando Alonso isn't even driving in Formula 1 anymore. They think he’s competing in a completely different league altogether... you feel me?
You’ve gotta have eyes in your head to realize there are actually two different competitions and two separate races happening every single Formula 1 weekend.🤣

A Fox is cunning, after all. They know how to play people...

Yeah, right... if anyone is distorting reality here, it's you.🤣

We’ve already seen the actual power rankings:

Mercedes-Benz is miles ahead of everyone else.
Red Bull Racing and Ferrari are about a second behind the Bear, basically neck-and-neck—one is faster in certain phases, then they swap. But both are lagging behind that Mercedes engine.
Then you've got Williams, Force India, and McLaren trailing behind. Honestly, it's still hard to tell that middle group apart since we haven't had any decent qualifying sessions yet.
STR is the best of the rest, picking up whatever scraps they can find...
Sauber is in a massive hole, but they're still better than Caterham or Marussia.

Just goes to show how much better he is than this overhyped Alonso guy everyone on this forum obsesses over.🤣
Sebastian Vettel is nowhere to be seen, while Alonso is more than 10 seconds behind him. 😂😂😂

Kamui Kobayashi dragged Caterham up to 10th in the constructors' championship 😍

That first link basically claims Fernando Alonso is way ahead of Kimi Räikkönen, and that Sebastian Vettel is just slightly better than Ricciardo—meaning Alonso is pulling miracles out of a Ferrari. Unless Ricciardo is actually better than Kimi.🤷

Sure, let's compare Kimi's Ferrari, which was struggling with obvious handling issues just yesterday... and then to top it off, he got absolutely wrecked in a collision during the race and finished with a massive gap.
If we're going down that road of comparisons, why don't we look at Ricciardo's lap times at the end? Based on those, Red Bull isn't even driving; they're practically standing still.
😬

Therefore Vettel is performing miracles😲 in a car that can barely move from the starting grid to the podium.😲 🤣 🤣 🤣
And don't even get me started on Nico Hulkenberg; the guy is on another planet.🙏
God, Perez couldn't even manage a single lap in an hour and a half. That is how painfully slow the Force India is.😲
Sepang Grand Prix - March 30, 2014 in Formula 1 ·
Anyway, Valtteri is faster than you honestly expected this ages ago 🤣
Besides, Rubens didn't just tell him he could shine just like he did back at Brawn 😬🤣

Who knows, maybe this year will be his version of my 2009.

Of course he can, it's just that Massa isn't going to roll over as easily as Rubens 🙏

It’s honestly pathetic watching an Alonso struggle to catch a Force India before his tires give up, only to watch a Ferrari limp along using DRS just to stay somewhat competitive... what a disaster. They seriously need to take a hard look at what they're doing.

I'd argue it has nothing to do with Ferrari...
Have you even seen anyone actually make a pass using DRS lately? 🤷

This race is boring enough to drive you insane. Honestly, these new rules are a massive fail; they were supposed to spice things up and boost competition, right? 👎
Instead, Mercedes is even more dominant than Ross Brawn's 2009 crew, let alone any recent cars. Everyone else is stuck driving in a single file line with zero chance of attacking or doing anything meaningful...

At this rate, it looks like most races will just require sleeping through two to five laps near the end...

If you’re going to quote me, at least answer this: who's actually better, Kimi Raikkonen or Daniel Ricciardo?
So, here's Vettel's race: he loses a spot to Daniel Ricciardo at the start, recovers easily, and settles in behind Nico Rosberg. Behind Vettel, you've got Daniel Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso hovering just 2-3 seconds away for basically the whole race. That is, until Daniel Ricciardo hits some trouble... On the flip side, Kimi Raikkonen gets caught in a collision (behind Alonso) and spends the entire race stuck at the back.
Vettel drove a masterclass, while Daniel Ricciardo spent the whole time glued to his bumper (with some pretty suspicious "tire management" going on). 🤷 Kimi Raikkonen, supposedly a top-tier driver, was trailing at the rear all day. Mercedes is dominant (not like Red Bull Racing last year), then Red Bull Racing is second, and everyone else is just fighting for scraps. Ferrari definitely isn't better than McLaren or Williams. It's Fernando Alonso who's the real deal here.☕

What kind of fantasy world are you living in?

Sure, Ferrari is slightly faster than Red Bull Racing, but we're talking tiny margins here...
Being right behind them is nothing special—it just means whoever started behind them couldn't find a way past. If you have even a basic understanding of Formula 1, you know a 0.100 gap per lap isn't enough to make a move.
But man, Fernando Alonso really pushed it 👍 and forced Red Bull Racing into an early pit stop. Even though Red Bull Racing seems super cautious with their tires, they clearly didn't have the guts to stay out on old rubber while Alonso was hunting them down on fresh ones...

If Ric hadn't run into issues, he would've finished right behind him. I don't see any massive achievement here worth celebrating.

He finished behind the fast cars and ahead of the slow ones. Period.

What race were you even watching? 🤣
Ricc was trailing Vettel by about 12-13 seconds before hitting the pits... since then, it's been a 13-second gap right up until the end. It's not magic that Vettel ended up ahead of Rosberg.😲🤣

Question for the admin...
I don't get how ties are handled in the group standings?
Take those bolded names in our group for example... who actually ranks higher and why? 🤷
Two interesting tidbits here...
http://184.106.145.74/f1-championshi...t%20-%2036.pdf

The fuel flow of car numbers 01, 03, 44, 06, 14, 08, 13, 22, 20, 27, 11, 99, 21, 25, 26, 19, 77, 17,
04, 10 and 09 was checked.

The following software versions have been used by the teams during the qualifying sessions:
Team FIA Standard ECU system
version
Caterham SR626
Ferrari SR626
Force India SR626
Lotus SR626
Marussia SR626
McLaren SR626
Mercedes-Benz SR626
Red Bull SR626
Sauber SR626
Toro Rosso SR626
Williams SR626

1. Unlike last race, everyone is running the exact same ECU software this time round.
2. For some bizarre reason, they didn't check the fuel flow on car number 7—that's Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari. Looks like a faulty sensor.🤔
Could easily explain why there's such a massive gap in times compared to Alonso...

Looks like being six-tenths faster against Mass was the goal.
Against that Finnish fraud, it’s basically a whole second.

Honestly, nothing about this gap between the Ferrari drivers is surprising...
Nobody bothered to fix Kimi's red bucket, and the maestro just got lucky because Kvyat actually showed some respect and fixed his car.😁

Toro Rosso is giving you the tools, but 😬

Kimi tried fixing it himself in Australia, but that didn't exactly work out...
At least now he knows the drill...
Find an STR on the track, smash into it brilliantly, and suddenly the car runs better than ever.👍
There’s absolutely nothing surprising about the gap between the Ferrari drivers...
Nobody bothered to fix Kimi Raikkonen's red bucket, while the maestro actually got lucky because Daniil Kvyat stepped up and fixed his car😁

Toro Rosso is just messing with you but 😬

Should be some main points coming through soon. 🤔
darkmarlin16 said:What the hell are you talking about with Kvyat?

Honestly, same here.🙄
Marko BU should probably just stick to managing rookies.🤣

Instead of going after Alonso for a penalty, the kid just accepts an apology.

He even claims Alonso didn't see him and calls it just a racing incident caused by track conditions...
The guy's never going to make it in politics.🙂
dustycyclist19 said:Ricciardo-Vettel 2-0 qualifying

You actually watching these qualifying sessions? 😵

Seriously, is everyone at Ferrari just incompetent? I mean, what’s their excuse for not even installing rearview mirrors on the car for the maestro 🙄
It’s funny how the maestro somehow intuitively knows that a little touch of Red Bull tech adds wings to the car...
Pure genius.🙏🙏🙏

P. S. Dorian should probably just rename this whole subforum to "Formula 1 powered by Lotus software"
What a total washout
cosmiccyclist8 said:Hey Max, any idea if there's going to be a stream for qualifying?

Dammit...
stormybadger8 stormybadger8 said:Anyone need anything? I'm around. BBC One live stream No drama with the installations...
gentlecobra23, that’s basically what you get. Android versions. 😁

I tried both ways and they both work perfectly.
The only real downside I can see is that the stream is lagging about ten seconds behind the actual broadcast, but honestly, who cares? It’s hardly a dealbreaker.😁

Anyway, Malaysia is going live right here:
Catch the qualifying and the race live on BBC One.

😉
