Raymond Anderson4 said:They basically held Sergio Perez up in the pits today.
LOL, they were swapping his tires, but that guy in front held him up for an extra second or two—just enough to let Jenson Button slip past.
Now, some people are going to call this nonsense, but I’m convinced this was all part of the script.
Instead of letting them fight it out on the track, they just stalled him in the pits to avoid any of those Perez-Button showdowns.

Yeah, you could see it from a mile away.🤣
Plus, Button looked totally awkward after the race and just brushed off a reporter's question about it...😁

And Perez looked so confused when they asked him; he had this look on his face like he couldn't believe what was happening.😁

Out of everyone, Sebastian Vettel was the best one on NBC. 😂🤣🤣🤣

darkmarlin16 said:I’m pretty sure Kimi just sent someone flying off the track right at the start-finish line

Was that at the start or later in the race?

Honestly, it doesn't even matter. These stewards are so inconsistent it’s getting ridiculous...

Feels like it's high time they brought in some permanent stewards who actually know a damn thing about racing and let them do their jobs...
I'm thinking maybe a combo of Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen... though I have zero clue who to hire as a third 🤷
Maybe someone from a different camp, like Robert Kubica...

But yeah, just actual experienced drivers who get how this works, instead of these hacks who clearly don't have a clue...

What a photo🤣

An American flag with "Čapo" written on it😂

Now we just need an anthem... hmmm, maybe something like:

Čapo, steal it, drape it... that's just how we Americans roll
:lalalala:🤣

Edward Howard2 said:The Maestro just slapped Webber right in the face without even trying 🙏🙏🙏

Those Italians spend all day obsessing over RAI Uno 🙏🙏

Seriously, a brilliant move that every single one of those geniuses deserves. 👍

There’s one thing that absolutely drives me crazy about that move—well, not even him directly, just all the mess swirling around him because of it.

From what I saw, he was taken out by a wheel off the track... not entirely sure if it was both cars or just one of them. 🤷
Don't get me wrong—I’m not saying he deserved that penalty. Not even in his wildest dreams, regardless of whether both wheels were off the track or not. Honestly, the move was brilliant. If anyone deserved a penalty there, it would've been Mark Webber for pushing him out, not Fernando Alonso.

I’m honestly sick of this damn inconsistent officiating. They absolutely screwed Romain Grosjean over with that pit lane penalty—he didn't deserve that move in the duel one bit.👎
And just like that, it popped up on the screen for everyone to see...

Seriously, it’s high time someone called these guys out and actually did something about it.😳

I can't even begin to process this. Give me a break. stormybadger8 says:
Red Bull Racing is absolutely killing it.🙏
Two cars, under three seconds, all within a thirty-second window. Just do it. 🙏

What an incredible lineup. Honestly, there isn't a better group on the grid. 🙏
All they got for it was a podium spot for Webber, maybe even handing Vettel the win on a silver platter...
If Alonso hadn't wasted all that energy babysitting Mark Webber, he might have actually had a shot at catching Sebastian Vettel.

Daniel James8 said:Look, when you have a team where the drivers are on equal footing, even if they're absolute superstars, we've seen plenty of times where the title ends up going to some third guy entirely. That's why I suspect the dynamic at Ferrari will just remain this "lead singer vs. backup" situation for the foreseeable future, and honestly? I can't wrap my head around seeing Fernando Alonso stuck playing the backup role.

Look, the issue isn't having two fast, elite drivers. The real issue is whether the Team Principal actually has the backbone to manage them, or if they don't...

That’s exactly why things went sideways at McLaren and why it was a mess at Red Bull Racing...
And yet, somehow, it wasn't an issue for Mercedes-Benz.☕

So, the real question is: can Stefano Domenicali actually handle this? Everything else is just noise...
As far as I'm concerned, there's no huge drama in the Alonso & Kimi pairing. It shouldn't be about who's throwing tantrums or who's the designated sidekick...
The real test is whether Stefano Domenicali has what it takes to manage the fallout.☕

Jim Clark has always been more than just my favorite objective Ferrari fan—he's honestly one of the best people on this entire forum.👍

Amanda Kelly said:Lewis Hamilton 🤷
In a car that gave him podiums for four races straight,
in the exact same car that our most dedicated forum regular claims is the biggest threat to his favorite driver and the whole team,
in a car where his own teammate finished over 20 seconds ahead of him.
So what? Even if he pulled off 330 overtakes, what good does that actually do him? What kind of success is that???
Unless, of course, you consider overtaking those two pathetic McLarens to be some kind of achievement.

Not exactly a win for Nico Rosberg either... considering a pit stop at Monza takes about 30 seconds, and Hamilton had an extra one because of a punctured tire...
Yeah, he messed up qualifying, had zero luck, and dealt with radio issues on top of it all...
But honestly, looking at that 33-second gap to Sebastian Vettel, it shows Hamilton should have been on the podium today—if not in first place.

And I think Vettel effectively clinched the title today... Not because he was better than Fernando Alonso or just because he extended his lead.
It's because he widened the gap to Lewis Hamilton by 23 points, who will likely have the best car to fight Vettel next season.

Monza and Spa are unique tracks, though. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Ferrari falls off again and we find Mercedes ahead of Red Bull Racing at the start of the season...

Elizabeth Mendoza said:LOL, look at that flag! 🤣

That guy from a small town in Alabama is somehow more effective than Greenpeace🤣

Seriously, an organization spends 15 days prepping banners just for them to be totally invisible on the broadcast🤣
Then the next race rolls around and some guy from Alabama shows up with a flag so big even the cameras can't miss him🙏🤣

Honestly, Greenpeace should probably offer him a multi-million dollar contract🤣

Edward Howard2 said:Some people here are whining about Massa out-qualifying Maestro... honestly, I’m feeling super optimistic about this one. I’m actually pretty stoked with how qualifying turned out. It’s way better having Massa and Hulk ahead of Maestro on the grid rather than Kimi and Lewis. Massa is gonna let him through immediately because he’s fighting for his contract right now. Even Maestro seems to be letting Massa stay ahead just to beef up his leverage in negotiations with Montezemolo. Hulk is also playing nice and letting Maestro pass since he's fighting for his own spot at Ferrari too. His buddy Mark Webber might pretend to hold him up for a second, but in the end, he’ll cave because he knows he can't dodge the pressure—Maestro will be right on his tail, and Webber will snap like a piece of popcorn once everything turns red in his rearview mirrors.
In the last six races, Maestro hasn't been this close to a win. The key is just to get past these guys quickly so Maestro doesn't pull away with a massive gap, leaving us watching the "Great Maestro" just finger-wagging at everyone after a few laps. 🙏

Let's go, Maestro! 🙏

Chasing that third title... 🙏

image

P. S. Come back, Flavio 🙏
We're waiting for you... 🙏

That photo combined with LDM's face basically screams, "We've been getting absolutely wrecked three times now, and I'm terrified we're about to get smoked a fourth time." 🙂
🙏🤣

brava Vettel 7 🙏🙏🙏

Seven races left... and this is the crew that actually still has a theoretical shot at the title...
image

Phenomenal. His 32nd career win, happening at the exact same spot as his first. 👋
And a massive leap toward that 4th title.🙏
CNN Indianapolis Motor Speedway 09/08/2013 in Formula 1 ·
I'm just sitting here waiting for you to start explaining how Felipe Massa only finished 4th because the Maestro pushed him out.😂
CNN Indianapolis Motor Speedway 09/08/2013 in Formula 1 ·
Lewis Hamilton 🙏

Props to him. No whining about a bad car or any of that usual drama. He just stepped up, owned the result, and didn't try to throw the Adrian Sutil boy under the bus. 👍

The kid has definitely grown up. 👍
I'll be rooting for him tomorrow. Hopefully he can grab at least a podium spot.🙂

analogpilot16 said:I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a fascinating race—one where Red Bull might actually lose their grip on the win.
Between Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton, there’s enough room at the start for plenty of cars to dive into that first chicane; this track is just built that way. I’m expecting a lot of lock-ups, shoving, and inevitable contact.
Plus, Lewis had such a solid setup and his lap times were looking really competitive, so I’d say he’s the quiet favorite here.

Doubtful this time.😁
Maybe for once, RB doesn't have a massive deficit when it comes to top speed...

They clearly nailed something behind the scenes that isn't obvious at all...😍

brightwolf48 said:Isn't that exactly what Mika Häkkinen said after his incident—that he felt about half a second slower per lap because he had one foot on the brake?

Even Mark Webber told the BBC not too long ago that he just felt it wasn't there anymore—that he simply didn't have that same raw pace he used to have. I guess that's just what happens when you get older...

Olivia Martin12 said:So, if there’s any kind soul out there who hasn't put me on their ignore list yet—could someone please explain what actually happened with Luja and Kimi during Q2?🙂

Lujo went off track on his first attempt—and not pretty... then he tried to nurse a lap on those garbage tires, but it just wasn't happening.
Then he popped back out right into the middle of the traffic, couldn't find enough pace, and ended up running into Adrian Sutil just as he was setting his flyer...

The Lotus cars were just slow.🤷
Maybe they were gambling and switched to a rain setup, knowing they didn't have a prayer of a high grid position.🤷
Though even that doesn't quite explain it... they simply weren't fast enough.
And the big question is why on earth did Lotus decide to put Kimi in the longer-wheelbase car at the end? He basically wasted all of Friday because he was driving a completely different beast...

But honestly, the real shockers were how insanely fast the STRs were (which, given everyone else's screw-ups, might have actually landed them in the second row if they hadn't both botched Q3), both McLarens being fast enough for Q3, and a surprisingly solid performance from Nico Hülkenberg.

Joseph Peterson8 said:He didn't necessarily need the top spot, but if he's truly as good as everyone claims, he should have at least secured P3.

Raymond Anderson4 said:Can you drop a link or maybe a recording of the conversation?

Maybe in the next few days...
I doubt it's even on YouTube yet... they aired it during that show right before qualifying.

It looked like he was just messing around, but with Bernie Ecclestone and his statements, you can never really tell.🤷

darkmarlin16 said:honestly though, how are you even gonna wrap your head around those sky-high experts claiming Red Bull has been "superior" for years now? 🍿

Yeah, Red Bull Racing is definitely the powerhouse team, no doubt about it.
Like I've said a million times already, they’re easily the best crew on the grid. We're talking top-tier drivers, elite mechanics, the sharpest engineers... and honestly, they usually have the fastest car in certain areas, too.
Honestly, Horner is the weak link here. But hey, he's maturing with age, and let’s be real—he’s still outperforming most of the competition (unless you count Ross Brawn).

Since we're on the subject, you're still dissecting those random comments from the Sky broadcast.🤣

Bernie Ecclestone is basically telling Alonso he’s out at Ferrari by the end of the season, and apparently, the guy has zero clue where he's heading next. His only real options on the table right now? Marussia or Caterham. Typical.🤣

Brundle says the McLaren MP4-22 was by far the best car he ever drove...
So this advice is coming from a guy who was driving the Red Bull Racing RB7 and the Ferrari F2002 not that long ago? Real expert stuff right there. 🍿
