William Bennett53 said:Saturday is part of the race weekend. And no, points aren't handed out then, but it clearly shows who's actually fast since nobody is driving qualifying slower than they possibly can.

We're talking about a one-dollar bolt, a bag caught in a wheel, a washer that's too thick... or something like that.
It has nothing to do with speed.🙂

Who on earth is Vergne?

Is that really what you're whining about?

Unbelievable. Even you managed to see it coming.🙏👋
And Schumacher too, definitely 🧐🤣
You never know what might cross Grandpa's mind 😬...maybe he'll just hop into some random vehicle on the track and actually win if the engine holds up until the finish line 😬
darkmarlin16 said:Since my birthday falls on that Sunday, one of my big wishes is for his engine to blow up. Pair that with a win for Fernando Alonso and that’d be one hell of a birthday present. 🙂

I'm not sure even Vettel's engine blowing up would be enough at this point. We'd probably need Hamilton, Rosberg, Webber, Kimi Raikkonen, and maybe even Grosjean and Massa to lose their engines too...
and just to be safe, let's throw Button, Perez, Hulkenberg, Ricciardo, and Vergne into the mix while we're at it. 🤣
Unbelievable 😲

Mark Webber:
Singapore
South Korea
Suzuka
India

1 pole position...
7 front row starts...
Led for just 1 lap 😲
0 wins
6 total podiums (2 second places, 4 third places)

Sebastian Vettel:
Singapore
South Korea
Suzuka
India

8 pole positions
12 front row starts
Led for 532 laps!
9 wins!
11 podiums out of 14 (including wins, one 2nd, and one 3rd)
Worst starting position was 6th in Red Bull Racing.
Worst finishing position was 5th in Red Bull 2008, and once 4th in Red Bull 2009...

And let's not forget that one time he was leading and had to retire...
Or that 2008 race in Singapore where some thieves basically robbed him of a podium...
Everything after that was just pure revenge. 😈

Bottom line: if you want an actually interesting championship, you have to lobby Bernie to stop running races in Singapore, South Korea, Suzuka, and India. 🤣

Vettel is absolutely destroying them!
If this is really the best Alonso can do, does that actually make Massa the better driver?

Massa pretty much laid it all out clearly the other day ☕
graniteharbor502 said:Vettel's gone. He’s still messing with their heads by not pushing in those final minutes. Absolute joke!

This is just getting started.😁
Vettel basically waits until the US Grand Prix rolls around every single season before he actually finds another gear.😍

watch what to follow😁

😍

But what we saw today was actually something else.😁
It's honestly kind of scary what he might pull off at Suzuka—grabbing pole in Q2 on harder tires? Unreal.🤣

Smart enough.
Go ahead, keep coming back for more.

Posted on June 12, 2013
I have no clue who thinks that's enough, but even a toddler could probably wrap their head around it.😂

But hey, I get your logic.🤣
By that standard, I guess McLaren didn't even copy Ferrari—they just took Ferrari parts and gave them a fresh coat of paint.🤣🤣🤣
crimsonstag84 said:They were running on full tanks at 1:52, so there's no way they'll go faster than 1:51.😬

By the way, Lewis Hamilton set his time on the third attempt (Daniel Ricciardo, for example, lost about a second over that many tries).

A 1:51 is definitely happening, no doubt about it. But whether they'll just casually smash Kimi Räikkönen's race lap record of 1:45.599? That’s not such a sure thing...

It really comes down to the tires. If everyone goes for a one-stop strategy, it’s going to be nearly impossible for anyone to hunt down a fast lap at the end of the race...
But if someone pops out on SS during those last 10 laps, they're guaranteed to break the record—even if it's Felipe Massa.😁
Jason Campbell70 said:A driver's just a reflection of his fan.

Nice little self-description there, especially with you dropping a link to prove you're just recycling someone else's thoughts. 🤣🤣🤣
Makes me think of that whole mess with the 2007 McLaren and Alonso. 😬

Where exactly is this "21 Trouble" heading? 😬
Linda Bailey17 said:Sure, but look at the numbers. Kimi's Fast Lap was 1:45.599 (the track record from Q2 2008). During today's FP2, five drivers already beat that time, and Sebastian Vettel was fastest at 1:44.249. Qualifying times are going to be even lower ☕.

And about that Turn 10—Lewis Hamilton once called it the worst corner in F1. Now that they've removed it, everyone's gained some time... clearly enough to smash the old record...

Vettel is 4 seconds faster than last year's FP2...
GP2 cars are also about 4 seconds faster than last year...

Today's FP2 time is roughly 2 seconds faster than last year's pole position...
Last year, the Fast Lap was only 1:51... whether they actually break Kimi's Fast Lap is the real question.🤷
Depends on if anyone runs on SS tires in the final stint or not.😉
On Medium, they don't stand a chance of beating it, but on SS? They might. It just depends on if anyone is actually out there on them at the end.

Tomorrow will definitely see the fastest pole position yet.

Some people were clearly watching this on some low-budget local news station in Singapore...

Nathan Jones98 said:Don't hold your breath; those cars were way faster than what we're seeing today.

The only time faster than Sebastian Vettel's lap today was Massimo back in Q2 2008...
http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2008/801/6567/

And looking at the FP2 times, today's pace is over two seconds quicker...
Word is the GP2 pole position today is four seconds faster than last year's...
So yeah, the lap record is definitely going down, and I bet the race hits that two-hour limit before we even see the finish line.
Drew Bennett68 said:Yeah, definitely worth remembering that.

I bet it’s pretty rough for Alonso when he hits that one turn.

Funny how Pat Symonds didn't show up at the Singapore Grand Prix...
Sky Sports is saying he's too embarrassed to even step foot in the pit lane.
Roger Wright94 said:Looks like everyone just lost interest in talking before the race starts.
Probably because there’s zero suspense left, neither for this race nor the championship.

So, we're basically looking at another inevitable win for Mercedes and Red Bull Racing.
Is there actually anyone left who can challenge them, even for a second?

Well, there's the Gearbox...
Either it's already blown, or they swap it out and take a grid penalty. Whatever happens, it's a mess.

Looks like those mosquitoes over there are absolute killers 🤣
Rain's coming our way.🤷

Expect a
Safety Car and some wet patches all over the track...
And you can bet
Felipe Massa will be right in the middle of that mess... He probably should have
practiced for this back in Monaco... But hey, if he struggles, Kamui Kobayashi is right there to step in, and he's
already put in the work too...
😍🤣
The internet is flooded with polls asking who’s actually better: Fernando Alonso or Kimi Räikkönen.
Back during the 2014 season, I saw at least four or five of these ridiculous debates popping up everywhere...

Look, the goal for the whole team is obvious—they want both the Constructors' and the Drivers' championships. But the real question is: which driver would they actually *prefer* to see take home the title?

And let's be real, before we even bother answering "Alonso or Kimi," we have to be absolutely certain that both drivers will get treated exactly the same by the team.
Personally, I'm wondering if that's ever actually going to happen.

Honestly? I’m not holding my breath. I don't even have a clue which driver might end up being the favorite in the garage...
That’s exactly why I didn't bother voting in any of those other polls... and why I made this one.

I actually stumbled upon a pretty interesting take on this yesterday that basically said this:
A mechanic on the team earns maybe $50,000 to $80,000 a year, while a driver pulls in several million.
It’s highly likely that a mechanic, who spends half his life pulling all-nighters working on the car, might lose his mind seeing a driver refuse to stay in the garage after a race to do his job or deal with some PR nonsense just to keep the sponsors happy—especially since that driver's paycheck comes directly from that sponsor money. It's just as likely he'll snap if someone calls him lazy, incompetent, or an idiot.

Does anyone else think this kind of stuff could actually mess with the mechanics' heads and potentially tip the scales in the driver duel?

So, that's why I set up this poll. I've boiled it down to three options representing what LdM, management, the mechanics, and everyone else really wants:

1. The Constructors' title, with Kimi Räikkönen taking the Drivers' championship.>
The team (and specifically LdM) mostly wants to teach Alonso a lesson and settle the score for all those comments where he acted like he was bigger than the team, which clearly annoyed them...
They'll find every way possible to make sure Kimi wins the title.
They'd even be willing to look like total fools to the rest of the world by admitting they messed up when they kicked Kimi out and paid him to sit out in 2010.

2. The Constructors' title, with Fernando Alonso taking the Drivers' championship.
The team just wants a rock-solid number 2 driver, which is why they brought Kimi in, but they have zero intention of letting him be champion. They'll do whatever it takes to ensure Alonso wins this internal fight.

3. The Constructors' title, and they couldn't care less who wins the Drivers' championship.

William Bennett53 said:What kind of qualifying session was that?

The Renaults and Hamilton... 🙈
Hulk! 🙏 🙏 🙏

It’s looking like a classic Ferrari scenario. 🤣

Alonso: "Felipe is too quick."
I suppose Felipe isn't checking his radio, otherwise they might have warned him he was threatening the majesty of the team. And the result?

4. Felipe
5. Alonso

Pure masters. 🙏 🤣

Felipe was clearly on steroids all weekend.🤣
The whole weekend went by way too fast....

Turns out the local cops weren't exactly thrilled when they pulled him over for speeding in his silver Ferrari 458 on the way to the track.

He got slapped with a $150 speeding ticket and lost six points on his license. Tough luck.

Got slapped with a speeding penalty on the way to the track. Typical.🤣🤣🤣
