Those mistakes don't look like burnout to me. It feels more like something's broken in his head, but I can't quite put my finger on what caused it.

Ferrari...
And he’s going to need a lifetime to recover from this. Honestly, who knows if he even will.

In all honesty, he screwed himself by joining his "dream team" even worse than Fernando Alonso did with his constant team-hopping...
That team screwed him over hundreds of times in every way imaginable. And still, he never breathed a word against them. He actually defended them even when even the blindest person could see they completely botched it...
Only for them to mess with his head using those games involving Charles Leclerc, and then toss him aside like yesterday's trash.

He'd honestly be better off retiring right then or taking a year or two off just to get his act together.
Instead, he joins a team where the organization clearly isn't much better, and to top it all off, he's got the boss's son parked right on the other side of the garage...

Losing the title just because Aston Martin didn't play their cards right...

🙂

Vettel's onboard footage reveals quite a bit...
His engineer tells him to save fuel, then to do a super slow lap (the in-lap after the race ends), and then grab as many tires as possible (to avoid weight issues)...
Then you hear the engine sputter slightly and the car just dies.

Now, my gut feeling is that he ran out of gas...
But it's possible the fuel pump gave up, like what those folks at Aston Martin are claiming—that they couldn't pump that extra liter out of the car.
Though, logically speaking, if the pump died during the race, it’s weird as hell that it would suddenly start working just enough to pump 0.3L and then die again...
It's not impossible, but it sounds incredibly sketchy... I'm leaning heavily toward him running out of fuel.

The stupid part is how they didn't tell him to spark plug his way through immediately after crossing the line, because he probably would've had enough fuel since he basically drove almost the entire in-lap like that...

Since you're bringing up how only influencers get lucky, instead of everyone else who scored a point more than Vettel.

analogpilot16 said:You think I’m doing complex math late at night? I'm no nerd.

Not everyone behind Vettel got an extra point... why is that so hard to grasp?🤔
For crying out loud, this is elementary school math.🤦

Hamilton and Sainz got 3 points more...
Latifi, Alonso, Gasly, and Yuki got 2 points more,
and Russell, Max, Kimi, and Ricciardo got 1 point more...

Not even close. They aren't biased, and if you want to talk about impartiality, look at Warwick.😁

There’s something seriously sketchy going on with Massi and the stewards here. 🙄

When Russell pulled out of the pits, he ended up cutting past a whole line of cars because of where the Williams pit box is located.
Acting like a top-tier team, Williams immediately told him to give the positions back, otherwise, he was basically guaranteed a penalty. So, Russell gave the spots back to everyone except Kimi...

And Massi, being the genius he is, decided it was all good. Apparently, since they went through the trouble of giving spots back to most of the field, he just didn't bother reporting it to the stewards. Just let it slide.

I'm watching the replay now and there's another thing...
A bunch of drivers were called in for questioning regarding radio conduct during the formation lap, but Russell's engineer tells him to dive into the pits for tires instead.
So, it wasn't even his call—and if I'm reading this right, that's an automatic penalty.

I honestly don't get why they're looking the other way for him. Is he already signed to Mercedes? Is Massi just practicing how to dodge penalties for Mercedes drivers ahead of time? 🙂

The weirdest part is that it wasn't even penalized or looked at.
Meanwhile, they're threatening people over wearing certain t-shirts or whatever nonsense. Absolute idiocy.
Bottas and Stroll get practically a slap on the wrist, while other drivers will definitely end up eating penalties later in the season because those two probably trashed a ton of engines and gearboxes.
Plus, teams could get wrecked by the budget cap because of all those wasted repair costs.
Even old man Binotto suggested that for stuff like this, you should hit the teams with massive fines to compensate everyone else, just so they actually start paying attention.

Lando Norris, obviously. Who else?
That's why Valtteri Bottas is already trying to take him out preemptively. 😁

Interesting...
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/a...ysis/6641069/?

So, if I’m reading this article right and it’s actually accurate, not a single one of the AM mechanics was even there during that fuel extraction attempt. Just the team principal, 😕

And funny how they don't have the right to complain about it either...
They can't even install a new pump if the old one dies, unless the FIA gives them the green light after the fact and nobody else complains (which, obviously, no other teams will 🤣)
Honestly, I don't see how AM wins this one. Unless maybe they bring in a crane and flip the car upside down just to get the fuel out, 😬
Either way, it's a mess...

If they had actually made it back to the pits, they probably wouldn't have even inspected it at all.😁

Bottas is the GWOAT 😁
They should just call him the Finnish kamikaze...

Though "Crash Specialist" wouldn't be a bad fit either. 🤣

They gave Sebastian Vettel 2nd place back today...
https://www.formula1.com/en/results....ce-result.html

It's just temporary until they decide on the appeal... then they'll almost certainly disqualify him again.
Never heard of a penalty working like this before—you disqualify someone, then automatically bump them back to where they finished while the appeal processes, then disqualify them all over again once the appeal fails...🤔

What kind of mess is that?

Basically, a total clown show of an organization.😂
Rewriting race results multiple times in a single 24-hour window.😵 🤦

ruggedhawk20 said:What was the reason for his disqualification?

He got DQ'd because the idiots over at Aston Martin clearly didn't put enough fuel in the car or failed to manage consumption properly... just amateur hour.
I actually liked the F1 crew, but this Aston Martin team acts like they recruited a bunch of clowns from Ferrari...

First off, their strategy was a total mess.
Thanks to Nicholas Latifi, Sebastian Vettel had a massive gap ahead of Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, and the rest of them...
At one point, he could have pitted and still pulled ahead of Alonso if the pit stop hadn't been such a disaster (unlike the delay they suffered during the actual stop 😳). He would've cruised past Esteban Ocon too, since the undercut was lethal at Indianapolis Motor Speedway...
They botched his stop by about a second, after already being two seconds late before that... but man, he drove an incredible in-lap and out-lap. By the time Ocon exited the pits, Vettel was right on his tail and almost blew past him...
If he’d gone in when the gap was 0.5-1 second and things had gone smoothly, there's no way Ocon could have covered that...

The reality was that if Aston Martin had any clue how to strategize, he should have pitted right after Nicholas Latifi came in and they realized the rest of the field was falling apart.
Aston Martin probably had the pace to beat Alpine, but not enough to make moves on track without getting aggressive...
On the flip side, Nicholas Latifi was basically acting as a shield against the guys behind him. As soon as Nicholas Latifi cleared out, Carlos Sainz was flying—about 1.5-2 seconds faster per lap than Ocon and Vettel—and caught up to them in no time...
They even looked nervous about Carlos Sainz coming out of the pits because the service was so slow. Just a few laps before Nicholas Latifi pitted, the gap between Vettel and Carlos Sainz was 16 seconds, while he was nearly 20 seconds ahead of Alonso 🤦

Then there's the whole fuel screw-up...
How the hell are you supposed to know how much fuel you have left? Even if you'd backed off for Lewis Hamilton—which you definitely should have done in the last couple of laps—
you still would've cruised into a podium spot for third. Instead, you messed up everything in a row and walked away empty-handed...
Even though you were incredibly lucky with that start and should have milked it for all it was worth.

Now the clowns are complaining about third place 🤦
Who the hell is actually complaining? The penalty is crystal clear, and no amount of whining changes anything. You were required to show a minimum of one liter of fuel left in the car. You couldn't do it, so what's the point of complaining? What exactly are you going to argue?
Even if you somehow tore the car apart and squeezed an extra liter out of it, it wouldn't matter. You're supposed to extract that fuel through the standard systems after the race, not by dismantling the car and praying for a miracle...

Well, that’s it. Vettel’s out...🙏
Now if they disqualify Esteban Ocon too, the GOAT can just walk away with the win. 👍
2021 Canadian GP: July 30 - Aug 1 in Formula 1 ·
Sainz, Vettel, and a whole bunch of others are definitely getting hit with penalties...
Hamilton might actually pull off a win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the day is over. 😍

Richard Walker38 said:They just pulled Sainz in to see the stewards mid-interview🤣 looks like Ferrari is about to screw him over too; apparently there was some radio chatter during the formation lap

Yeah, a penalty is a total lock...
They wouldn't call him in if it wasn't. A penalty hits if the crew talks to the driver, not the other way around...
But hey, the driver takes the hit even if someone on the Ferrari pit wall is being an idiot. I guess that's what happens when you drive for these clowns...
2021 Canadian GP: July 30 - Aug 1 in Formula 1 ·
It’s funny how Grozny got slapped with a race ban after that wreck at Spa-Francorchamps, especially since I remember that track having way fewer cars on it back then...
And in the end, this nonsense from Valtteri Bottas is just as bad, if not worse, than what Grozny did, yet he still walks away with 5th place. 🤦
2021 Canadian GP: July 30 - Aug 1 in Formula 1 ·
Carlos Sainz just got hit with a penalty 🤦
Probably a heavier one than Valtteri Bottas, since he was busy chatting with his crew over the radio during the formation lap...

What a total joke of an organization. Bottas deserved a 5-place grid penalty for that...
Hamilton gets 5 places too, just like some damn gearbox change...

Ugh, honestly, it doesn't get any more pathetic than this.👎

Fernando Alonso 🙏
That Alpine F1 Team car is a nightmare to drive, but he fought like a beast anyway 👍
My respect for him just went through the roof after this performance.

He’s clearly a racer through and through.
