cosmicridge5 said:It's such a shame Kubica is missing a few points. If he had them, he could actually threaten the lead in some crazy scenario... that would be fun. 😍

If it wasn't for the FIA's brainless rules, he’d be right in the title fight.😉

Let's be real: Alonso didn't even do anything special, he just got damn lucky—unlike Kubica and Rosberg🙏 🙏 🙏who both got screwed by stupid rules with a stop and go penalty. When you crunch the numbers, they realistically lost about 25-35 seconds during those stops.😢

1 5 Fernando Alonso Renault 61 Winner 15 10
2 7 Nico Rosberg Williams-Toyota 61 +2.9 secs 8 8
3 22 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 61 +5.9 secs 2 6
4 12 Timo Glock Toyota 61 +8.1 secs 7 5
5 15 Sebastian Vettel STR-Ferrari 61 +10.2 secs 6 4
6 3 Nick Heidfeld BMW Sauber 61 +11.1 secs 9 3
7 9 David Coulthard Red Bull-Renault 61 +16.3 secs 14 2
8 8 Kazuki Nakajima Williams-Toyota 61 +18.4 secs 10 1
9 16 Jenson Button Honda 61 +19.8 secs 12
10 23 Heikki Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes 61 +26.9 secs 5
11 4 Robert Kubica BMW Sauber 61 +27.9 secs 4
12 14 Sebastien Bourdais STR-Ferrari 61 +29.4 secs 17
13 2 Felipe Massa Ferrari 61 +35.1 secs 1

So the actual standings should be:

Rosberg 🙏🙏 Insane race.👍
Kubica - maybe 3rd, depending on how you factor in that pit stop.
Alonso
Hamilton
Glock
Vettel
Heidfeld
Coulthard

And the tablica would look like this:

Hamilton 83
Massa 77
Kubica 72😢

I’m just hoping the championship isn't decided early. If it comes down to it, Massu will outdrive them on pure track performance during those head-to-head battles...
The only thing that could actually tank him is his own team or some absolute disaster in the pits.😁

🙏 Exactly. He's getting what's coming to him now. Massu and Ford got punished, since the FIA won't do it themselves.☕

Just like I called it:

stormybadger8 said:Look, I know everything, but my gut isn't feeling it this time.😢 Usually, I'm the optimist, but it feels like Renault, McLaren, BMW, and Williams are going to run the show at this race. I think Ferrari🤷 is going to struggle, and by extension, so will STR and Force India. Don't ask me why, I just have a feeling.

At least I was wrong about STR. 😁

And massive congrats to SEPI 🙏
and his Williams👍
.
Plus, some sweet shifts in the driver standings:😁

01 Lewis Hamilton 84
02 Felipe Massa 77
03 Robert Kubica 64
04 Kimi Räikkönen 57
05 Nick Heidfeld 56
06 Heikki Kovalainen 51
07 Fernando Alonso 38👍
08 Sebastian Vettel 27👍

09 Jarno Trulli 26
10 Timo Glock 20

And here’s the constructors' table:

01 McLaren-Mercedes 135
02 Ferrari 134
03 BMW Sauber 120
04 Renault 51
05 Toyota 46
06 STR-Ferrari 31👍
07 red Bull-Renault 28
08 Williams-Toyota 26👍
09 Honda 14
10 Force India-Ferrar 0

Give me a break, even Ferrari used tactics like that, except Kimi just fell asleep 🤣 and finally woke up just in time to screw it all up.😂

But I think I've outdone Maminho here.🤣🤣 😍

🙂 Maminho 🙏 has probably racked up at least ten bans just defending Fernando from Pilatus’s bitter comments, not to mention pulling at least twenty burner accounts. Have you ever actually put that much effort into this forum? Think about it. 😬

Our resident prophet predicted this whole mess back on September 15, 2007, when he started this thread: 😉

They aren't actually terrible. The car is decent enough, they just have mediocre drivers and their pit crew is a total disaster. 🤣🤣🤣Honestly, they're hopeless.😂

🤷 You have to admit, Stark is easily the biggest fanboy on this entire forum. There hasn't been a single statement, move, or even a terrible result that he hasn't tried to defend or make excuses for.☕

🤣Maybe he just couldn't wrap his head around how Alonso ended up ahead of him, or how he managed to train his teammate so well😂 so he was looking for tips🤣🤣🤣

I bet they're already dreaming up this exact strategy for the next race, definitely now in Ferrari 😬 as long as they don't screw everything up in the pits🤣

what about me?😂😂

yeah, right. where's Stark now to celebrate with us two?🙂

Look, Stark is definitely Manning's most loyal Fernando fan after all.😉

fine, so it's just you, Vespasian, and whoever else is left. congrats to everyone.👍

Didn't I tell you all Fernando Alonso would finish ahead of Mass, Kimi Räikkönen, and Lewis Hamilton? 😬

Nick Heidfeld gets a three-place grid penalty
27 September 2008

The McLaren driver has been penalized three grid positions for impeding another driver during qualifying ahead of tomorrow's Miami Grand Prix.

Heidfeld originally locked in sixth, sitting just two spots behind teammate Robert Kubica. Thanks to this penalty, he’ll be dropping back behind Sebastian Vettel, Timo Glock, and Nico Rosberg, who all bump up to sixth, seventh, and eighth.

A racing incident occurred during the first session when Rubens Barrichello was forced to abort his flying lap after catching Heidfeld in the final corner. The BMW driver had slowed down while heading toward the pit lane.

To add more drama, Barrichello got slapped with a 10,000 Euro fine because he cut across the pit lane immediately after the incident once he realized his lap was dead. Apparently, the stewards weren't fans of him crossing the pit entry line.

🙄

Okay, I get why Heidfeld got hit, but what's with this random three-spot penalty? It's total nonsense. Why isn't it a standard five or ten-place drop?🤷 What's the logic here—are they just picking numbers out of a hat like 2, 4, 7, 9, or 12 depending on their mood?😕 And honestly, I don't get why Barrichello is being fined at all. The guy was the victim in that situation. 😵 Instead of getting sympathy, he gets punished. What was he supposed to do, ram into Heidfeld just to make the stewards happy?🙄

placidsurfer9 said:Yeah, you've got a point there... but they didn't penalize Lewis Hamilton for shoving someone off at the start of the race at Spa, did they?
He pushed it right at the end just to mess with Massimo’s position, and for what? Absolutely nothing. If he actually managed to overtake him like he planned and caught a penalty, then suddenly he’d be "lacking tactical intelligence." That’s the classic line those expert commentators love to drop whenever things get messy. Honestly, it’s getting ridiculous.

Look, it’s not even about the shoving. It’s about... New rule. It’s basically impossible to pull that off. I mean, really, do you get it? You’re right there, coming into the turn, and your direct rival is breathing down your neck. If you force him out, he crosses the line with all four wheels. He has to come to a full stop. That’s an instant loss—probably more time wasted than a botched pit stop.🤷 And you can't even punish them for anything. You get what I'm saying?😉

placidsurfer9 said:Oh, come on... what was the chemist doing? That was just plain rude... but whatever, the little punk is still the best!! 😁

Let them push him. He’s winning the championship even without the points!! And who cares about Musso

It’s not even about him. It’s just stupid. Under that rule, he could’ve been penalized too when Lewis Hamilton pinned him and kicked him out. You get me? If this guy pushes someone, they get tossed and penalized, while the guy doing the pushing gets off scot-free.🙄

Raymond Ortiz89 said:I get where you're coming from. Honestly, it’s not even bad—it’s actually pretty great—but the track layout itself is a total mess.

The rule is fine in theory, and I’m all for having it apply throughout the entire race. But forcing a pit stop? That’s just nonsense. It’s unnecessary and honestly pretty dangerous. Plus, it feels a bit stupid when you think about it—what happens if someone pushes you off the track like Lewis Hamilton did to Glock? Are they really going to penalize Glock for that?🙄 Why did he peel off the track? And where the hell is Lewis Hamilton? 😵 placidsurfer9, it’s not working now. I was just using that as an example.😉

And honestly, I don't get it. With that newly implemented rule, what, are we just supposed to come to a full dead stop on the track and then try to get moving again? 😕

Look, I know the stats, but my gut is just telling me something different this time.😢 Usually, I'm the optimist, but I've got a feeling General Motors, McLaren, BMW, and Williams are going to be running the show here. Personally, I think Ferrari is going to struggle, and if they do, STR and Force India are right there with them. Don't ask me for the logic—I'm just going with my gut.🤷>

🙂 It’d be even better if Vettel won, but only if he’s starting 13th while Lewis Hamilton takes pole and actually finishes the race. 😈

As if you didn't see Glock practicing his crash at the end😉 Did you see how he spun out and slammed the car nose-first into the wall? He basically sent Hemić straight into the barrier☕
