Dana Murphy4 said:I guess I’m just a little confused by some people claiming that Perez didn't deserve his win today. It seems a bit strange to say he was undeserving when he was sitting all the way back in 18th place after the first 😁

And who exactly is making those claims? 🤔
Probably some "expert" like Blažica or something. 🤷

I mean, I guess Lewis was already chasing after the Mercedes' motor even before the Mercedes team truly existed as we know it today. 😵

Maybe someone should give you a bigger stick so you can actually make an impact...

What does a Mercedes engine in a McLaren from 2007-2013 have to do with the Mercedes V6 Power Unit from 2014 to now?
shadowmarlin22 said:Honestly, screw it all—Brawn Rosberg and Schumacher built everything 🤦
Let’s just look at the facts for a second...

Back when those three were running the Mercedes, there wasn't any real progress—they were sitting 4th, 4th, 5th in the standings, basically sliding backward every single year. The first year they brought in Wolff and Lewis, they jumped straight to second place, and then eventually became champions—though, let's be real, they didn't turn it all around in just one season.
Obviously, they probably hit their peak dominance this year because I'm guessing Brawn developed the foundation seven years ago and they finally cracked the code now. 🤣🤣🤣
Tibi, seriously, go get some help.

Aha, so winning the first PP and a race counts as zero progress...
I guess that's just a tiny little detail that any random team on the grid could pull off easily.
🙂
Double DRS and FRIC, which have been in development since 2012, aren't important either... totally irrelevant.
And I suppose Lewis developed the motor himself during the break between the last race of 2013 and the first race of 2014, since his Twitter wasn't working so he had nothing better to do than mess around with the motor...🙂
Nicholas Newman2 said:😂The way things are starting out, Williams Racing might actually grab a point here.

Told you guys Aitken would pull off a points finish for Williams, didn't I?🤣
Now we're just sitting here waiting for Aitken and Latifi to score, plus a Russell DNF😬

Man, imagine the absolute chaos on ESPN if that actually happened🤣🤣🤣
James Harris34 said:Mercedes messed up because they went for a double stack and struggled to find their rhythm with a new driver on the roster. They made similar blunders back at the German Grand Prix in 2018, and we saw it pop up a few times this year too, especially during the races in Italy and Russia.
It's obvious that if George Russell were in this car, he’d probably take the win along with most of the rest of the grid. But you have to actually develop a car to this level through years of grueling work—it's always a mix of driver talent and team execution—and once you've done that, reaping the rewards becomes much easier.

Except, there aren't even many people left who actually built this Mercedes machine...
We're talking about Brawn, Rosberg, and Schumacher...

Lewis and Toto stepped into an already well-oiled machine with a pretty advanced car...
Sure, they pushed it one step further and kept it at that level for years, which creates this illusion of a "struggle"—if not against anyone else, then certainly against Bottas, who is clearly struggling hard...

Because let's be real, Russell isn't some alien living several levels above Hamilton. He didn't just jump into a car he can barely fit in and slap Bottas around without any prep...

God knows how good Lujo really is, but it's certain that Bottas is basically a walking coma.
In fact, Lewis could probably lap him by a full circuit every race, or two laps ahead of the competition if Toto actually let him...
But he never will, because Toto knows perfectly well that if they show that kind of dominance, the FIA will just rewrite the rules to nerf their wings...
copperdrifter26 said:So you're saying it's the exact same strategy Sebastian Vettel used, except Vettel didn't make it into Q3? I don't see the issue here. A Soft > hard > Soft / Medium (with a one-lap stint) is absolutely plenty. There’s no way he’s going to lose a whole second on an empty tank just because of one qualifying lap on Softs—especially since they knocked out 5 or 6 fast laps on them during FP without any trouble.

Soft/hard isn't the same thing as Medium/hard at all.☕
And honestly, who cares. Charles Leclerc is being a total clown again, but this time he doesn't have Sebastian Vettel to bail him out.🙂
mellowtiger83 said:That prediction is about as reliable as the claim that Hamilton would have finished third or lower in 2021 under these exact same regulations.😁

Tibac, you seem to have forgotten how easily our local banks can just shut us down.

Tibi 1 - Mario 0 ☕
Jason Campbell70 said:Thanks.
It isn't because the race outcome robbed you of enough drama to fuel endless debates and mental gymnastics.
No, you're staying quiet simply because you're being considerate and kind.
Thanks, Tibi. 🙂

Not really my thing...☕

Was I messing with you when your favorite MSC was struggling out there on track?
Nah, I just affectionately called him Grandpa and spent every single weekend making excuses for him. 😁

Was I messing with you when Alonso was stuck in that junk McLaren? No, even though I could barely hold back.

Am I gonna mess with you now that you're pulling for Lewis Hamilton? Nope, because after today, everything is crystal fucking clear...
I don't know what you're trying to say with that, but I'm not following. says:
Man, you talk so much nonsense it’s actually exhausting to read. 🤦

It’s even harder when you can't actually see what's happening right in front of you. 🙂
Of course, when you can't see or understand what's going on, everyone around you just sounds like they're talking nonsense.

Charles Leclerc is screwed. He’s got zero fresh softs left, and he managed to burn through both sets of new mediums and a fresh set of softs during Q2. Just great.
He’s down to his last set of hards.

Charles Leclerc is starting on softs because he ran them during Q3.
Will he actually win the race and show decent pace on used softs or hards? Maybe in your dreams, but honestly? Not happening.🙂
Kenneth Cruz67 said:But wait, what does Williams even have right now? Is it Honda or Renault? 😬

I honestly had no idea they had switched up their engine supplier.

By the way, I'm thinking we should all just start calling Russell Cinderella from now on!

What does the button layout on a Teddy Bear have to do with which engine is sitting in a Williams Racing car? 🙄

Jose Myers87 As I was saying:
I honestly feel like Bottas is driving for both his own career and Lewis Hamilton's today. The stakes couldn't possibly be higher, and I guess you could even say this might just be the most important race of the century!

I honestly feel like the stakes involved were just so incredibly high that maybe, if I'm being totally honest, Lewis might have just made up the whole coronavirus thing just to get a head start on heading home early; I mean, it’s possible he just wasn't really feeling up for all the extra hassle, wouldn't you agree? 🤣

I guess you could say that Lewis Hamilton is truly in a league of his own, though I suppose it depends on how one views his current trajectory within the sport! It honestly feels like we are watching a living legend navigate such complex waters, and while there might be some debate among the fans, I’ve always felt that his sheer talent and presence on the track are simply undeniable, wouldn't you agree? I have to say, things aren't exactly looking great at the moment, I suppose.Well, if you take what Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has been saying lately, it sounds like the F1 World champion is currently battling with some mild symptoms of coronavirus. I suppose if I had to describe things right now, I might say they feel somewhat mild, though I guess that’s just my perspective on the matter! It seems like there might be some confusion regarding those pesky coronavirus symptoms, though I suppose one could argue that everyone experiences them a little differently depending on their own unique constitution! It’s quite possible that someone might feel a bit under the weather with just a slight fever or perhaps a lingering cough, but then again, you never truly know how it might manifest until it actually happens. I guess we all just have to stay cautious and hope for the best, don't you think?

I can't help but wonder if feeling unwell with just those mild symptoms might be a bit of a convenient excuse, perhaps to dodge the media circus, sponsors, and all those heavy obligations for both this weekend and the next one.

It’s really a toss-up, isn't it? I mean, I can't help but wonder if wiredfalcon2 might actually have a point when he suggests that Lewis won't be taking home the championship title next year. It feels like such a massive question mark, though, doesn't it? Maybe he's right, or maybe we're all just overthinking the whole thing! 😬

I wasn't saying Noup wouldn't drive...
He'd still be driving and he'd still have the best car on the grid, but he still wouldn't see a title coming his way...
stormytiger4 said:So, which camp are you in?

You know that joke about the two former pro football players...

They’re asking each other what they do now that their playing days are over...
The second guy says, "I'm working as a civil engineering professor."
The first one goes, "Are you kidding me? You don't know the first thing about engineering!"
The second guy replies: "That's exactly why I'm teaching them." 😍
darkmarlin16 said:Seriously, why on earth are you watching those hacks over at Sky Sports? Are you just as much of a tool as they are?

I don't just watch; I listen to F1 TV Pro sometimes too...
I honestly can't be bothered to sync up the audio from NBC Radio 5 with the video on F1 TV Pro every single time...
mellowtiger83 said:That prediction is about as reliable as the claim that Hamilton would have finished third or lower in 2021 under these exact same regulations.😁

Tibac, you seem to have forgotten how easily our local banks can just shut us down.

They only banned them in your neck of the woods because they knew you'd be hitting on the waitresses.😬

If you promise to actually behave and ask permission before touching the staff, I'll see if I can get a bar to clear out just for you. Honestly, no big deal...
I'm not even going to mention Valtteri Bottas or Lewis Hamilton. Honestly, why would I rub salt in your wounds? 😁
And look, I’m actually in a damn good mood for once 🤣

But man, Mercedes absolutely wrecked Russell. It's like they borrowed their strategists and pit crew straight from Ferrari 🤦
ruggedhawk20 said:Well then—go invite the President over for a BBQ.

That'd be about right.

The President can have all the brisket he wants, it’s my favorite anyway 😁
hit me up in the DMs 😁
Alex Barnes93 said:Classic move, keeping Vettel out in the pits way longer than necessary...

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. 😁

Honestly, I have no clue which kid Vettel is or why he was back in the pits for a third time. 😵
Don't tell me they messed up his tire choice too. 😕
I need to check the replay, but according to LT, he was back in the pits just two laps after his last stop. 😵
mellowtiger83 said:The only way Charles Leclerc finishes behind Sebastian Vettel is if he retires, crashes out, spins, or ends up driving on rims. Anything else is pure science fiction; he is simply too much faster than Sebastian for that to be a reality.
They are operating in completely different worlds. For Sebastian, it’s an unreachable height.

Everyone’s hitting the pits at least twice. Since Leclerc won't have fresh rubber, he might end up going three times...
Expecting Ferrari to nail three consecutive pit stops without screwing up is being wildly optimistic...🤣

Get your wallet ready, because you're gonna owe me a round.😉
Kenneth Cruz67 said:😁

I really think you should take a moment to think about it. I mean, the rules aren't changing from this year, and everyone will still be driving the exact same cars. Honestly, who could possibly snatch a championship away from Lewis Hamilton? Perhaps Valtteri Bottas might have a shot, though I guess I don't quite believe in that scenario, and I suspect you probably don't either 😁

As for the rest of the grid, I just don't see anyone being anywhere near him, let alone becoming a real threat.

Maybe a McLaren powered by Mečkin engines could pull something off, but honestly, that feels like even more of a fantasy than Bottas winning the title.

It looks like we are heading into a long, rather tedious season next year where we'll likely find ourselves listening to God Save the Queen weekend after weekend. I suppose the only realistic way to avoid that is if the Queen passes away, in which case we'll all be hearing God Save the King instead. 😁

I’ll believe it when I see it, but my money is on Hamilton finishing third or even lower next season...
As for Bottas, I don't see him in the top five no matter how you slice it. What kind of hype machine are you running? 🤣
Kenneth Cruz67 said:Look, I have a soft spot for Alonso and all, but honestly, I think Lewis is just a bit more my style. I'm really looking forward to seeing him grab that eighth title and absolutely shatter every single record out there. 😁

If anyone is actually going to be in need of help, I'd say it’ll probably be you next year when the Stroll family starts acting out against Vettel. 😛

You're going to need it specifically because of Lewis Hamilton.🙂
That eighth title he sees the sky.☕
darkmarlin16 said:I'm with you on that one. He pulled off a masterclass of a lap—honestly, it doesn't get any better than that. Probably why they didn't even bother bringing him back out.

Anyone seeing any decent action on Speed Trap?

We’ve known for ages that math isn't exactly your strong suit, but honestly, it’s wild how blind you people can be. 🤦

Fernando Alonso burned through every single new tire except the hards...
So why on earth would you try to set a fast lap on hards?
It was clearly nonsense to those Sky pundits and the crowd following them instead of using their own eyes and brains... but for anyone actually capable of thinking for themselves, it wasn't. ☕

Anyway, I expect Charles Leclerc to finish somewhere near Sebastian Vettel, if not behind him...
That one lap was fantastic, but everything leading up to it sucked, and his strategy was pure stupidity, regardless of what anyone says...
Because trashing every single tire set might make sense in Monaco, but certainly not here. ☕
