But honestly, screw those tires too. Hamilton was 5.2 seconds behind, they pitted a lap earlier, Ferrari nailed the stop, and Hamilton comes out only 0.8 seconds behind Vettel. 🤣

Exactly. Goodyear has been absolute garbage this season...🤦
They either completely wreck certain teams in qualifying or during the race. It's insane. Just totally nuts. 😵

A classic race...
Hamilton’s luck is driving me crazy again...he's good, more than good, but this is getting ridiculous. 🙂

Classic Ferrari. First they screw Seb, then Seb screws himself... and then, just in case they forget, they screw the fantastic Leclerc too. 😵
Top tier stuff right there...🙏

Great race, but a total anticlimax at the end. 🤦

What the hell happened to Lewis Hamilton? The guy aged overnight. His face is sagging, wrinkles everywhere, deep lines on his cheeks, and his neck looks trashed. I saw an interview with him on Graham Norton just two years ago and he looked like a kid. Now he’s still rocking that same haircut that makes him look like some aging lesbian.

Probably got syphilis, trichomonas, and all that other garbage for his birthday from that trashy girlfriend of his...

Oh, I see. So Max is just another champion built on fan excuses, huh? 🙂

Max > Leclerc

Sure thing, buddy. 🤣
When you look at actual pro-level adult series, Max hasn't won a single thing, whereas Leclerc already has two major titles under his belt...☕

Max Verstappen—champion of what, exactly?

We can play dumb forever if we want...
But let's be real: Charles Leclerc is absolutely going to be a Formula 1 champion...
It’s not even about whether he wins a title; it’s just a matter of how many he grabs and when he hits his first one.☕
Max, on the other hand, is probably never going to win one, regardless of all the hype.

Richard Ross11 said:Look, man... 🙂

My point is they just seemed way too hyped about it since it was actually Charles Leclerc grabbing pole instead of Vettel...
like they were all, "See? We called it, this kid's the next champ"...

And again, I’m just saying "it felt like that," I don't have any inside info to prove it's true...
Hopefully it's clearer now 🙂

It makes sense though...
Vettel is basically a hire from outside, while Leclerc is their golden boy...
Think about how Lewis Hamilton was the McLaren prodigy versus some guy brought in from elsewhere...

It's totally normal, nothing weird about it.
Leclerc is the future of Ferrari—their new hope and future champion. It would be bizarre if they weren't celebrating exactly like that.

And why wouldn't they celebrate? 🤷
After that absolute disaster in Australia, they actually pulled off a 1-2 finish, plus their golden boy Leclerc just snagged his first career pole...
So, if that isn't worth a celebration for the crew, I don't know what is. 🤷

Toto Wolff is a legend. He started wearing those glasses and suddenly went blind. 🤣

Vettel was already under fire for being slow after that sudden braking incident.
The FIA can never be objective; they're just trying to protect someone's dominance again.
Bottas 2.0 from Australia is the number one driver again. It looks like they basically handed him that first win at Mercedes, and now Luji snatched 8 points from him.

Hold up, 🤣
So everyone gets investigated except Luji? Even though if I remember right, he casually blocked Charles Leclerc in Q1. 🤔
Why does this even surprise me? 😁

It’s the truth—that blocking happened, and they didn't penalize it because, okay, let's say it was extremely mild compared to what Grozan did... but still.

Raymond Anderson4 said:Sure, Red Bull had better race pace than Ferrari in the last third of the season, but Ferrari was faster until then. I honestly have no idea where you got the idea that Red Bull is usually faster in race pace.

Friday's race sim clearly showed Charles Leclerc was the fastest, so again, why are you bringing Red Bull into this?

You seem to think Red Bull was somehow way ahead of Mercedes in Australia. Like Valtteri Bottas was the benchmark proving how much Mercedes was getting smoked by Red Bull during the race.
Plus, Friday's race sims show Red Bull is slower than Ferrari on average lap time. I don't know where you're getting that "one second faster on the third lap" thing from.

God, media nonsense...
These geniuses take race sim averages using laps where the driver obviously gets stuck behind some incredibly slow 🤦

Max was consistently hitting the 1:34.8-1:35.4 range for about 14 laps straight, and that was on 6-lap old tires right at the start of the sim... though he did have one random 1:37.xxx lap in there, and miraculously, the race sim counted all of it...
So by the end, he looks worse than Charles Leclerc, who was running:
1:34.5, 1:35.0, 1:35.5... followed by a 1:36.1 and a 1:37.4 (which were outliers) before the pit stop...

And yeah, if Charles Leclerc had those kinds of sim numbers, Sebastian Vettel would have had them too on softs, and then they'd both have them on mediums...

The comparisons used in these "analyses" are just ridiculous.
Comparing a Charles Leclerc/Sebastian Vettel race sim based on maybe 2 or 3 fastest laps against a Red Bull/Mercedes sim that accounts for all 10+ laps 😵

RB could have easily just taken Ricciardo and JEV.
Instead, they went with some hyped-up rookies.
Honestly, I wouldn't even blink if Kvyat shows up at RB and they fail to finish 3rd in the constructors' championship. Not even surprised.

Yesterday's broadcast was great...
Especially that bit where Chandok mentioned how Marko walked up and told him, "You're 22 and basically ancient now—too old for Formula 1!" 🤣
Considering how old the current RB drivers actually are... 🤔🤣

And the best part? Watching everyone trash the absolute garbage F1 app that shows zero useful info...
People are asking who's on the new tires and who's on the old ones—we have no clue because the new app is pure trash and doesn't show that data anymore...
Then you wonder who's ahead of Hamilton—no idea, because the driver tracker just shows some random red dot. Is it Ferrari or Alfa? Who knows. If we still had the old app, we'd know. With this new one, we're flying blind.

stormyviper2 said:Yeah, except Red Bull's chassis is a total disaster in terms of raw speed. Ferrari would've lapped them three times in those five laps. XD

XD malo Morgen...
In that first lap, Max was only about 0.2-0.3 seconds behind Ferrari, then he was 0.4 faster in the second, and by the third, he was a full second ahead...
That’s why Max’s lap times stayed steady or even gained a few tenths, while Ferrari keeps dropping half a second or more per lap. By lap 5 or 6, they're completely screwed and falling behind STR, McLaren, Haas, and Renault...🤦

It shouldn't be a shock that RB isn't on Ferrari's level during qualifying. They usually dominate in the race anyway, and this season that gap is only going to get wider.
Honda is clearly killing it—you could see it most in the STR's race pace...

Red Bull doesn't have a speed problem; they have a tire warming problem.
That’s exactly why they struggle in a single lap, but they rip it during the race because they can manage their tires way better.
2019 Bahrain Grand Prix (March 29-31) in Formula 1 ·
neonfox65 said:Where on earth did you get that from?

FP2...

Red Bull is tearing it up right now, and their tire management is leagues ahead of everyone else...
Max pulled off a 19-lap stint on softs while keeping his pace insanely consistent. Same kid on the mediums—he’s easily the fastest guy out there without even breaking a sweat....
The Mečka, aka Bottas, is trailing him by about two tenths, but those tires are shot after just 12 laps or so.

Meanwhile, Ferrari’s tires are falling apart after only 4 or 5 laps, and it’s happening to both cars. 🤦Sure, they had a faster out-lap than Max, but by lap 3, they were already slower than the STR, and Red Bull was just untouchable...
It's pretty obvious Ferrari went all-in on qualifying prep and nothing else.
2019 Bahrain Grand Prix (March 29-31) in Formula 1 ·
Charles Leclerc was incredible 👍
The kid is a total win for Ferrari.

Ferrari's usual strategic insanity 😁
Those pass masters sending their driver into Q2 a lap after everyone else while the rest of the field crawls around the track 🤦 somehow worked out fine this time...

Vettel blew it, but honestly, it was pretty mature of him to nail that one calm lap in Q3. If he hadn't, he would've been starting from the edge of the grid instead of fighting for his life in the final session...
At least he kept his cool...

The big question is what happens tomorrow. Red Bull had way better race pace and took much better care of their tires... Mercedes was just slightly behind them, but Ferrari? They were absolutely desperate when it came to tire management 🤦
we'll see how it all plays out...
mellowtiger83 said:You think Norris is actually better than that Sainz fraud?
That Norris guy is a total pleasant surprise! A real iRacing talent.

Hulk is damn good, and that gives me hope.

Look, I don't doubt Hulk is a solid driver, but I have zero faith in Renault...
Renault actually pulled off a decent "best lap" during Practice Session 2, which looked great, but their race pace? Nowhere near.
Which is expected, I guess. But what *isn't* expected is Hulk having a race pace that’s absolute garbage compared to Kvyat, Norris, Gröźny, Magnussen, or even Sainz...

And let's not forget Alfa, which we basically haven't seen at all...
What on earth happened to Alfa? 🤷
mellowtiger83 said:Look, I put my money on Vettel for pole and figured Charles Leclerc would outpace Valtteri Bottas—all before FP1 even started. Probably gonna miss, but whatever. Also, I've got Nico Hulkenberg in the top 8 for qualifying.

The Vettel call isn't impossible, but I'm really not buying the Leclerc over Bottas thing.
It’s looking like a straight fight for pole between Bottas and Vettel...
If Leclerc actually shows up to that battle, it's a massive "if."

Also, you totally missed on Hulkenberg...
Renault probably won't even make it into Third Qualifying Session, let alone the top 8.
Nori and Torpedo are the ones taking those top 8 spots. ☕
Honestly, just bet on Red Bull Racing instead of Ferrari...
especially during race day, even if RB might pull an upset in qualifying...

If you want proof of how much Mercedes-Benz and Red Bull Racing were hiding their true qualifying pace, just look at Nico Hulkenberg...
You can try to tell yourself that Renault suddenly became a tiny bit faster than Red Bull Racing and only a tenth behind Mercedes-Benz, but come on. 🙂

There’s a better chance of Williams Racing getting both cars into the Third Qualifying Session than there is of Renault being anywhere near Mercedes-Benz or Red Bull Racing...☕

Honestly, Ferrari might actually hold their own against America for once...

But let’s be real, I wouldn’t be shocked if Mercedes just completely washes them away, even worse than they did in the USA, and laps them entirely. 🤦

Ferrari looks great warming up those tires and pulling decent single-lap speed, but their race pace? Absolute disaster. They shred through tires in maybe three or four laps, and the worst part is they’re killing both the softs and the mediums at the same rate...
It feels like nothing is going to work unless they're on hards, but of course, they only have one set of those available. 🤦😵
cosmiccyclist8 said:I heard Hakkinen's in on this too... and he probably knows better than anyone how much of a disaster it was seeing Charles Leclerc stall out during the very first race. Look, I get that Leclerc is their number one guy now, but it’s honestly ridiculous to see him acting like a total amateur after just one race.

What if Leclerc actually steps it up at the Bahrain Grand Prix?

What was Charles Leclerc even better at in Australia?
Qualifying was a disaster, and honestly? The race is looking even worse.
Did he just pull a fast one on Bottas or Hamilton?
Did he even stand a chance at beating Max?

The only thing he actually did better was the second half of the race. In that second stint, his car was clearly way slower than it should have been.
So, what was it actually? Was it just bad tires, a complete disaster of a setup on the mediums, or did they pit way too early? Maybe it was following Lewis Hamilton around and absolutely shredding their rubber because of it. Or was it cooling issues? Engine power? Who knows.
Or maybe if they just focused on saving the engine and tires, they’d actually finish the race without all the drama. Honestly, God help us.

Let’s be real—Charles Leclerc isn't even in the same zip code as Sebastian Vettel unless Vettel's car hits major issues. Even then, it takes him forever just to catch up. He completely fell apart during the first half of the race and was left trailing miles behind Vettel.
He only caught up to that sluggish car about 7 or 8 laps before the end. Calling that "significantly faster" is a massive stretch.

Honestly, this could easily just be standard operating procedure for these teams.
So, you're saying fighting is fine right up until that final pit stop, but even a lunatic wouldn't risk a mid-race brawl just a few laps from the finish. It makes zero sense to go door-to-door when there’s no chance of moving up the order or grabbing extra points for the constructors—unless, of course, you're actually worried about losing what you already have by driving like a snail to the checkered flag.
Then they just switch to some kind of turtle mode. They nurse the engines and gearboxes, basically just limping to the finish line to get it over with. Nothing special, nothing unusual.
Kind of like what we saw back in Malaysia in 2013, with everyone sitting right there in the points...
The only real difference is that Vettel didn't give a single damn about those team orders.

If little Max had shown that same hunger for victory that Vettel did during that infamous Multi21 moment in Malaysia, maybe we’d be talking about something different. But honestly? It wouldn't have been smart for him.
At the end of the day, Vettel definitely took a beating for that, even with three world titles under his belt at the time. Meanwhile, Leclerc is just getting his first real shot in a serious car...
Is it really that smart to bite the hand that feeds you? Not exactly. ☕

Richard Walker38 said:Charles Leclerc has serious driving talent, but let’s be real—his brain is basically made of marshmallows. He just can't pull the trigger. A real predator would've sniffed out that opening and bitten hard from the jump. Honestly, screw all these diplomats, "tacticians," and other half-wits. Formula 1 needs a damn dose of pure aggression.

The only thing the kid actually proved is that he isn't some impatient idiot. He’s clearly not just some immature brat who can't control himself. What he showed is that he’s got a serious head on his shoulders and he is genuinely dangerous.
If he’d gone for the move on Sebastian Vettel, it would’ve been a win for Vettel. It would’ve proven the kid can't keep his cool or think strategically under pressure. Plus, all he’d gain from an aggressive dive was a massive lecture from the team later on...
All this just shows the kid stays calm, calculates his moves, and is actually pretty dangerous.
He barely did anything all weekend, but he managed to wrap it up in a way that makes him look incredibly fast—like he didn't finish ahead of Sebastian Vettel just because the team held him back. 🙂
Richard Walker38 said:Your hate for Max Verstappen is getting so ridiculous that you’re basically going to start treating Pierre Gasly like a hero after every single race. 🤣

Not even close. Honestly, you're so blinded by your own hate that you can't see what's right in front of your face.

Pierre Gasly had exactly one race last year where he absolutely crushed it, and that was the damn Bahrain Grand Prix.🙂
Fucking hell, he’s sitting in 6th in that Red Bull Racing during qualifying, right on Ricciardo's tail, and somehow managed to stay 9 spots ahead of Max Verstappen. 🙂
He finished P4 in that damn Red Bull Racing car, on the absolute best F1 track from last season...
That was honestly the peak. It was easily Honda's best showing since they returned to Formula 1, and nothing has even come close to it until Max Verstappen landing on that podium in Australia.

Honestly, if you’re out here rambling about how he doesn't stand a chance at the Bahrain Grand Prix, you've got to be one of the bigger idiots out there.
It's the same kid who tried to write off Max in Mexico, where Max Verstappen always delivers. ☕

Will Pierre Gasly pull it off again? Who knows. But writing him off before qualifying even starts is just plain crazy.☕
