Daniel Ricciardo 92
Max Verstappen 45
One thing I write, two things I remember...

Is he "crushed" when he has three times the points of Max? Or what? 🙂🤣

Ricciardo is only slightly behind Valtteri Bottas, but sure, let's pretend he's washed up...
The future is Max, who basically just lapped Sergio Perez today...

And Lewis Hamilton too. 😁
Did you seriously forget those two almost collided? 😍

Unbelievable. Hamilton walks away totally clean after that first collision even though he’s clearly at fault, yet then Maldonado gets slapped with a five-place grid penalty for the second one? Make it make sense.
It’s not even that big of a deal. It was pretty obvious he slammed him on purpose. 😁
Ali, let's be real—it was probably just a scheme to avoid punishing Lewis Hamilton for his nonsense, and then giving Pastor Maldonado a lighter sentence just so they wouldn't look like they were playing favorites against Hamilton.

mellowtiger83 said:Haha, yeah, I could really use some Pastor Maldonado action right about now 🙏. But even then, it wouldn't be the same, since the FIA was being pretty soft back then too.

Of course it's not the same...
That Maldonado stunt was easily five times worse than this 🤣
But whatever, doesn't matter...

Besides, what can you do? Everything is a mess...
Fans were complaining that drivers get penalized for every little thing and should just settle their own crap on the track. So, the FIA decided to chill out on the penalties, and now certain people are whining because they aren't being brutal enough like before 😁

Damn, try as you might, you'll never please everyone 🤣

mellowtiger83 said:Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean aren't the same thing. They both just made their own messes during actual racing—bad calls at the start, terrible braking, kamikaze moves, all that good stuff...

What are you even talking about?
Maldonado was chasing Sergio Perez around the track during Free Practice 3 and intentionally slammed into him, probably because he couldn't get out of his way two laps earlier during a fucking fast lap in Free Practice 🤣
It was absolute insanity, pure chaos. 😵

And yeah, he didn't get a race ban, just a grid penalty...

Exactly 🤣🤣🤣

Though Bottas would definitely bolt for the exit 😂
Honestly, he was my favorite part of the whole thing today—did you see him bail from the podium when Ricciardo started spraying champagne all over his shoes? 🙂🤣
And then you've got Coulthard calling him back 😂

mellowtiger83 said:Cut the crap and just tell me: why didn't Vettel pick up that black flag? Seriously, was that actually happening? You clearly think Mercedes-Benz is getting special treatment. Bravo, buddy—your grasp on reality is truly impressive.

FIA giving him a gift? A freaking GIFT? And you’re still out here rambling on about how they favor Mercedes-Benz. Give me a break.

wtf ako

If that was intentional, then we're all screwed at 3 PM...
That was such a pathetic, half-baked performance. It’s honestly embarrassing—it wouldn't even pass for a decent drive from someone like Palmer, let alone someone who actually knows how to handle a car. Get it together. 😁
If Sebastian Vettel actually intended to slam into Lewis Hamilton like that, it definitely wouldn't have looked quite that way.☕

Man, at this point, contact feels more like a light tap than an actual hit.🤦

Besides that, when has anyone actually caught a black flag or a race ban for a collision lately? Unless we're talking about some absolute insanity like Romain Grosjean in Belgium, I can't think of anything else happening in recent memory.

If I remember right, Maldonado didn't even get a penalty for that blatant, intentional hit on Sergio Perez in Monaco. He was practically hunting him down around the track before slamming into him at the corner before the tunnel. And he didn't even get a race ban? Unbelievable.🤣

Shouldn't Vettel get a race ban? He definitely hit Hamilton's wheel a little too hard there. 🙂
That was terrifyingly dangerous. Seriously, absolutely insane.

Vettel's move was pure idiocy. It deserves a penalty regardless of whether he meant it or not. Honestly, who cares? It doesn't matter.
The penalty itself was fair. It wasn't too light or anything. It’s just that Hami had his own little meltdown about it...
It would’ve been way easier if they just slapped him with a five-second penalty at the end instead of making him fight through all that nonsense. That would have been much smoother... but obviously, that's not how this works.

I watched that 🤣
If anyone deserves a black flag, it’s the British media. They literally cornered Lewis Hamilton and told him Sebastian Vettel claimed he crashed into him on purpose just because he's a man—implying Hamilton is some kind of girl... which is obviously total nonsense.
They weren't even embarrassed, either. A second before that, they aired an interview with Vettel where he didn't say any of that, let alone anything remotely close to it...

Peak journalism right there. 🙏
Man, you gotta sell headlines and clicks somehow. 😁

Now we just wait for the next one. I bet they'll dig up some old photo of Vettel next to a heavyweight boxer with a headline about how he's training for a fight. 🤣

stormycobra27 said:From that link someone posted about the Safety Car rules:
...Drivers must not drive unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner that could be deemed potentially dangerous to other competitors...

So we aren't talking about braking itself, but rather the danger caused by driving needlessly slow. Almost coming to a dead stop in a corner is exactly that—unnecessary, unexpected stupidity that’s actually dangerous.

The officials know this, just like they knew Sebastian Vettel made a dumb move right after. They clearly watched what was happening and, instead of wrecking the race for everyone, they came up with some sort of "middle ground" solution where both guys get "equally" screwed—one gets a 10s penalty and the other has to swap out a headrest, which took about the same amount of time. If they had penalized Lewis Hamilton any further, it would have been overkill. He’s already the biggest loser of this race, and honestly, he's the one who brought it on himself...

Exactly...👍

Basically, if you look at the whole thing, the entire race was just one big scripted drama staged by the FIA. If they hadn't pulled that, it would've been a total snooze-fest, but hey, it made for a "great" race. 🤣

Em's penalties were just nonsense designed to create a little tension...
And the Safety Car coming out was a joke; half of that could've easily been handled under a VSC without any drama...
Not to mention, if a red flag had dropped, Pirelli would've probably embarrassed themselves again with their tires, just like they did in Monaco. Peak performance right there. 🙏

Though the best part was definitely Alonso's "it's a shame, we could have won this" comment after Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel blew past him. 😁

Richard Green73 said:Also, any update on that investigation into the Bottas vs. Raikkonen thing? Felt like Raikkonen had already cleared him

It happened...
Once they realized Raikkonen wasn't at fault, they just labeled it a racing incident...
Since the Mercedes driver can't be blamed anyway, there was zero point in investigating further🙂

James Harris34 said:Here's proof that Vettel just isn't paying attention during restarts. Plus, everyone knows the rules—in normal traffic, the guy behind is always the one at fault.

Maybe in normal traffic,
But try cutting into the passing lane on the highway at 19 miles/h and then claiming the guy behind you is at fault after he rear-ends you. 😁
In Formula 1, it’s definitely not always the driver behind, especially not with a move like Hamilton's...

Hamilton's move is a textbook example of why you get penalized, regardless of whatever nonsense the British media tries to spin about it... the rules cover this clearly, even if they failed to actually hand out a penalty here.

The rules are crystal clear and definitely don't allow that kind of driving. Just watch the replay of the other cars behind him; half the field almost got wiped out because of Hamilton's antics. And then you've got brave little Lujo whining over the team radio about how the SC is too slow and how they should have called a VSC instead because the SC is just pathetic... basically, he was driving so slow he'd probably be banned from entering an interstate in regular traffic. 🤣

The next race is going to be absolute chaos...
If Vettel manages to snag even one more point in Austria, he’s looking at a race ban at Silverstone.

I honestly wonder how many times Bottas has to slam into Vettel in Austria before his blood pressure actually hits the roof.

James Harris34 said:This isn't the first time Vettel has smashed into the guy in front during a safety car period. About 9 or 10 years ago, he took out Mark Webber at Monza under Ross Brawn's watch and knocked him right out of the race.

And our hero Lewis Hamilton? He was pulling similar crap on Webber back then and didn't get a single penalty. 🙂
As far as I'm concerned, Hamilton was clearly the one at fault for that crash, and even then, the FIA acted totally blind and insane during the race, if I recall correctly.
Bernie was busy scrubbing any footage from the stands that popped up online after the race, but hey, FOM failed to capture it officially, so it never hit the broadcast and no penalty was handed out. 😁

EDIT: fine, here...
http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2007/10/0...gp-highlights/
Even though they eventually saw the footage that Bernie couldn't manage to delete (it's still in the link above),

http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2007/10/0...er-fuji-crash/
They ended up slapping Vettel with a penalty once the video surfaced, but still—nothing for Hamilton. 🤣
In the end, nobody was responsible for the collision because, obviously, it could never be Hamilton's fault. Ever. 🙂

mellowtiger83 said:You missed my point. I’ll still follow the sport, but I’m done with this forum because there's too much garbage and stupidity here!

And that second thing was intentional sabotage—pure intention, no doubt about it. Vettel acted like a complete jerk.

There, I answered you, and this is my last post on this thread.

If anyone acted like a jerk, it was Hamilton...
Between brake testing Vettel and whining over the Mercedes team radio for Bottas to slow down just so he could finally catch Vettel, it's pretty clear.🤦

Vettel is a headache, nothing new there.🤣
He’s definitely capable of pulling something like that, I have zero doubts, but I’m fairly certain this wasn't intentional... if it were, it wouldn't have been so weak. It would've been a hit to the side, not the wheel.

But even if it was, the penalty they handed out for "intentional" behavior was fair enough.
The impact was totally insignificant given Hamilton's speed of around 3.7 miles/h. There was zero real danger from a hit like that.🙂

But sure, Bottas crashing into Kimi at a much higher speed isn't dangerous at all. Not even a little. Because everyone knows when a silver car slams into you, there's absolutely no danger involved.🙂

graniteharbor502 said:The rule for driving under the safety car is pretty clear:

If Lewis Hamilton doesn't get penalized, there's zero point in watching this sport anymore.
Vettel, on the other hand, absolutely needs a penalty for being unsportsmanlike.

It’s a total joke that Lewis Hamilton didn't get slapped with a penalty for that nonsense, especially since the rules are crystal clear...
Meanwhile, Vettel got his penalty exactly according to the books.

mellowtiger83 said:I’m pretty much done with this sport. After those 10 seconds instead of a black flag? It makes zero sense. Intentionally hitting someone—INTENTIONALLY—gets you a mere 10-second penalty? Now that German prick can just flip everyone off and do whatever he wants. Look, I’m not defending Hamilton, if they decide he braked unnecessarily then fine, but Vettel wtf. That's it. I'm officially leaving the forum. Disgusting.

And how exactly did you decide it was intentional? 🤣
Was Vettel actually aiming for Hamilton on purpose? Maybe he was just steering with his junk. 🙂

It was obvious Vettel lost his mind, pulled up next to Hamilton, started waving his arms around, and clearly slammed into him. But sure, let's pretend it wasn't on purpose...
Because if you were actually certain he meant it, Hamilton wouldn't have even finished the race...

mellowtiger83 said:Woohoo, so Vettel intentionally veered into Lewis Hamilton? Unbelievable. Who cares about him? Hamilton has every right to slow him down while leading. It was up to Vettel to adjust his pace, but intentionally swerving like that is at least worthy of a warning.

Who cares...
Pizdek deserved a penalty just as much as Vettel did. Vettel's penalty was totally justified, but I’m still glad that Pizdek got wrecked...

But tell me, are you done with Hamilton forever after that team radio bullshit? 🙂
The guy is always looking for a fight with anyone on his own team and absolutely hates following team orders... if he'd told the team to slow down Bottas, wouldn't he have just rammed Vettel instead? 🙏🤣

Some kid clearly can't get his tire temps right...
https://www.formula1.com/en/results....miami.html

I honestly can't remember the last time the timing sheets looked this messy. It’s absolute chaos—we've got zero progress between Q2 and Q3, and some even insane logic where Q2 times are slower than Q1, or Q3 is somehow slower than Q2. 😵

It’s obvious something is fundamentally broken with how they're warming up these tires. Pretty much everyone is struggling except maybe Mercedes and Ferrari, though even they might have issues. Most other teams are seeing these weird, nonsensical anomalies in their lap times.🤔

Roger Wright94 said:"The track" has terrible grip. Since Ferrari loves those softer tires, it doesn't really show here.
If it were a brake issue, people would already be losing their minds about it.

The real issue is definitely somewhere in that setup/tire/brake triangle...
Both drivers look pretty shaky under braking and entering corners. So, it's either the lack of grip or the brakes...

Meanwhile, the Brits are rambling on about this new fuel oil ban, claiming it actually hurt Ferrari more than Mercedes.
Word is Ferrari supposedly had some extra oil tank they used as fuel that they were forced to ditch...

Who knows how much truth there is to that, but maybe that explains why they suddenly fell off so hard in qualifying. Toss in the mess with the setup and tires, and it’s hardly a miracle that Red Bull Racing and Force India are right on their heels...

The bowling ball is lined up at the fifth spot, ready to roll. Who’s getting wiped out? Which idiot is about to take the fall? I wonder if this moron will end up slamming himself into a wall or if he’ll "accidentally" take someone else down with him.

Hamilton’s got enough distance! Fingers crossed!!

Honestly, Ferrari's strategists might actually consider letting Mad Max loose right at the start. 🤣
Just move both cars out of the way and let Max smash right into the Mercedes in front. *facepalm*
Pretty effective way to clear out the competition. Honestly, there’s a better than 75% chance they knock at least one of them out of the race anyway. 😬
