What’s the deal with the imagination and the Gray 146 View on imgur trophy exact position 😁
Just wondering if I actually snagged that one or not 🤷

Wait, are these actually the color codes for the semifinal matchups?
Isn't it a little weird that the winner and the runner-up from Group A are facing off in the semifinals? 🤔

I just can't tell if this is Red Bull Racing getting even or if they're just dumping everything into the public eye all at once. 😬

Exactly. 👍
The real question is whether he’d even be in the conversation for serious points or a podium spot...

Plus, you can't ignore how critical the chassis is in all this...
A PU is designed to fit one specific chassis perfectly, and customer teams are basically forced to make compromises because of it...
And let's be real, during the development of that PU, there were probably a mountain of compromises made just to cram all the components into that specific chassis...
Both Renault and Honda are struggling largely because of the teams themselves—they built their PUs based on specific demands, and yeah, they messed up big time because of it.
Those two teams built cars that look, frankly, like they're suffering from extreme malnutrition...

Just look at Renault. They seem to catch fire constantly, but practically exclusively in the RB car. In any other team, they wouldn't have faced nearly those kinds of issues 😉
On top of that, we're seeing this year that the exact same Renault engine isn't actually that terrible in the STR, which is wild considering the massive gap in budget and driver experience...

And who's to say that same Honda wouldn't perform decently in an STR? Theoretically, they could even end up finishing there...
But probably not, because McLaren would fight tooth and nail to prevent that, mostly to avoid the embarrassment of finding out Honda works great in someone else's car 😁

Though, honestly, it's all just noise when you're talking about Alonso fans. If Renault actually buys Lotus or RB, I think it's almost a certainty he ends up there...
If not next season, then definitely 2017 or maybe even halfway through 2016...
Given his whole back-and-forth saga with Renault, this would actually be his smartest move yet.

Because the reality is, Renault will likely be able to compete for wins long before Honda does (assuming they have their own team, of course).
The only true factory teams are Ferrari and Mercedes, so Renault might eventually join that club ☕
but McLaren Honda will never quite get there, just like RB won't, unless Renault buys them out...
And since it's obvious Alonso isn't going to Ferrari or Mercedes, it's just as obvious that Renault is his best bet.

I gotta admit, it caught me off guard too... then I remembered that kind of thing just isn't in their DNA.😁

mellowtiger83 said:It’s McLaren, obviously. Even Mercedes wouldn't try to pack it in like that at the rear end.

Funny how two teams with such extreme packaging end up with similar PU issues... looks like Podrom just copied Newey, except he probably grabbed the blueprints that were supposed to go straight into the trash.😬

But honestly, it seems like the biggest headache for everyone in the order (or the big advantage for Mečka) is actually the brake-by-wire system and just managing the hybrid electrical charge. In that department, the team seems way more critical than even the PU manufacturer itself...
Because everything can look great on a spec sheet in a factory, but it's a whole different story once you see how it actually behaves under real track conditions during heavy braking...
And I wouldn't be surprised if the massive screw-up is right there in McLaren's territory, with them basically giving Honda instructions on how to handle that specific MGU part of the PU...

In fact, the McLaren car looks awesome in terms of launch power, but then it just falls apart before you're even halfway through a lap...
Which suggests they have a massive deficit in battery capacity compared to the rest, rather than the actual max output of the PU being significantly lower...
There are a few possible reasons for that...
a.) The batteries lack capacity.
b.) The generators are too weak to charge them properly.
c.) Some kid messed up the brake-by-wire integration or the charging duration/power—my money is on this one.

Regardless, McLaren knows their stuff when it comes to KERS, they've dealt with hybrids like this in their own cars, and they definitely have the software experience...
So it's pretty surprising that the biggest Achilles' heel for McLaren-Honda is the exact area where Honda should be dominating thanks to McLaren's input...

Plus, when you look at the struggles Red Bull had with Renault on the same issue, it really brings back memories of those huge problems Red Bull faced years ago with KERS...
Either KERS was constantly failing, or they supposedly had a much weaker system than everyone else...
So regarding that, I'm not entirely convinced that Renault is solely to blame for that partnership failing; I actually think it was largely due to Red Bull's own mess-ups...

fadedwalker18 said:I'm listening. But what kind of bet are we talking about here? Rules, stakes, prizes... give me the details.

Here’s my motivation for you: Fernando Alonso is a better driver than Sebastian Vettel.
Get it?

Just come up with some terms and make a proposal...
Obviously, let's skip any imaginary "skill measurements." Stick to hard, tangible results—like who ends the season with more points.☕
Maybe more wins or podiums too... though I'm not totally convinced that even matters in Alonso's case.😬

ruggedhawk20 said:What absolute nonsense.

"Taylor" vs. "Get outta here."

Pure wisdom right there.

That wouldn't work at all, considering I put neonfox65 on ignore a long time ago...
What's the point of a bet involving avatars or posting frequency if you aren't even reading the guy? It makes zero sense to bet against someone you don't even look at outside of a few quote replies.🤷

neonfox65 said:If Ferrari pulls off a championship with Vettel next year, I’ll stand right here and publicly admit that Vettel is actually a better driver than Alonso.

Better start getting ready for that... and maybe go ahead and open a training academy for Mamić and the 4season crew while you're at it...
they’re gonna need it, because it's a toss-up whether they'll crack under the pressure first or if it'll be Alonso on the way. 😍

By the way, if anyone's looking to place a bet on Vettel vs. Alonso to you, there's a massive windfall waiting.😁

Just more proof that this whole group-stage format is a total disaster.

Why it sucks🍿
Don't blame the groups when the players in Group A just happen to be in a killer bracket. Every tournament has its "Group of Death," so it’s hardly a surprise we're seeing it here too...

Still, it's been an interesting ride so far. If my math isn't totally off, here's where we stand:
1 - 11 points
2nd and 3rd - 10 points
4th - 9 points

A major US news outlet claimed right after the Singapore GP that “the trade of Alonso for Vettel was a masterpiece.”

Took them long enough, but hey, better late than never. 😍
