I was thinking about this today while scrolling through some old transfer rumors. There is always that specific type of news cycle where a club suddenly starts showing interest in a player who left years ago. It always feels a bit strange to me.

Don't get me wrong, the nostalgia factor is huge for the fans, and seeing a "prodigal son" return can be great for morale. But from a tactical standpoint, I often wonder if these moves are actually strategic or if they are just a way for management to take the easy way out. It feels like it's often more about comfort and familiarity than actually addressing a specific need on the pitch.

I've seen it happen in different leagues too—a club realizes they're struggling, so they go back to a name they recognize from a decade ago. Sometimes it works, but half the time it feels like they're just chasing ghosts instead of looking forward.

Do you guys think these kinds of sentimental returns actually help a team's chemistry, or is it just a distraction from the real problems?

I'm looking into getting a bike-based Spirometry test done here in Chicago. It looks like there are several options available, so does anyone have a recommendation on where to go?

Like a sponge, right?
quietskipper17, looks like you’re heading back to the ice again, huh? haha...
At this price point, you can actually find a fork that isn't total junk.

If you’re even questioning whether you need a suspension fork, you don't.

Wrist issues usually come down to poor technique—people gripping the bars way too tight like they're afraid of falling. You’ve already got built-in shock absorbers: your elbows and knees. Unless you're older or dealing with actual joint problems, there’s no reason to bother with suspension on a commuter bike. Why deal with all that extra weight and maintenance?

I'm looking for a gastroenterologist recommendation—private practice or through Medicare, doesn't matter. I just want someone who isn't ancient and won't act like ulcers and heartburn are the only issues in existence. I need a specialist who actually understands modern digestive issues, like gluten sensitivity, IBS, FODMAP diets, and the like. Ideally, someone who runs targeted tests based on actual symptoms rather than just shooting in the dark and hoping something sticks.

Washington, D.C. or somewhere nearby.

Tax implications in the US for a UK-based LLC owner? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
So, apparently people just open an Inc. without anyone ever noticing? 😁
Tax implications in the US for a UK-based LLC owner? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
So, hypothetically speaking:

An American citizen sets up an Inc. in New York City to handle some business. For context, they’re fully employed here in the States, getting a steady paycheck, and their employer stays current on all their payroll taxes.

What kind of tax obligations does this person have with our local tax collectors? Are they just looking at corporate income tax and Sales Tax, or are there extra surcharges involved? Also, can taxes be paid in the US if their primary residence is here?

What about those various quasi-taxes and other fees? Since it’s a New York City-based firm, I assume those wouldn't apply, but feel free to set me straight if I'm wrong.

Thanks

Thanks, I’ll head down to the bank tomorrow to ask them about it...

So, did you get it sorted out?

I’m not looking at this three-month program as the finish line. It’s more like what you said—just the first step toward flipping my lifestyle upside down. It’s about getting myself into decent shape, dropping some body fat, and figuring out a nutrition plan that actually works for me. After that? I'll probably just stick to training about three times a week...

Look, I don't know. What are you actually aiming for? What are your goals? Are you training for something specific or—more importantly—what’s the end game? How much are you actually willing to drop?If you’re just starting out, Scitec should do the trick. If you're looking to stock up and save some cash, though: www.flexshop.com.

The goal is losing body fat while getting lean at the same time. I’m following that P90X system. But looking at their nutrition guide, they just give vague stuff like "3 tablespoons of protein powder" and leave it at that.

So, the program runs for three months. I’d really like to see this through to the end, strictly by the book.

I’m trying to keep things budget-friendly here. I don't have much to work with, so I'm looking for something cheap. A few years back, when I was traveling around more, I used to grab these silver bags—barely any branding on them, just plain—with chocolate protein powder inside. They were somewhere between a pound and two pounds. Any idea what those were? $33Maybe it’s my nail... I think I picked it up at some shop near the corner of Broadway and 5th.

So, now what? This is it. I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. What's on your mind? $57?

Or should I just wipe my ass with it? $63 za This is it.?

Can anyone suggest some budget-friendly whey protein powders in bulk? I can't really swing the premium brands like Optimum Nutrition right now, so I'm looking for something a bit more obscure that still hits the mark on quality...

Justin Morales6 said:Every single cent needs to be accounted for, if you ask me. I think you could potentially structure it so you land a contract—essentially setting it up where one specific entity is borrowing funds from another. That way, once the revenue starts rolling in, you can begin the repayments, ensuring everything stays perfectly legitimate on the balance sheets. 🤷
You might want to take a closer look at the regulations regarding authorized capital and initial contributions.

How do you even sign an agreement if the companies don't exist yet? If you're borrowing money just to get the business off the ground, how does that work? Do you wait until after incorporation to sign, then maybe say you'll repay it in two installments, pull the full capital out of the account, and hand it back to the lender? Sorry, I’m a bit lost when it comes to legalities... Does every single transaction from a business account actually need to be justified? If I borrow funds for my startup capital, pay them back immediately after forming the company, and then earn $20,000 by the end of the year, that $20,000 is sitting right there in the account again. Now that I've typed it out, I might just be talking nonsense...

I've got my own personal laptops I'd roll into the startup capital... they all come with their original OS. As for software, I don't really need much right now since the company would focus on consulting services. A basic Microsoft Office setup with some spreadsheets and letterheads should cover it.

I’m trying to put together an annual budget for a new LLC... so far, these are the expenses I’ve managed to track;

- Salaries including payroll taxes
- Website development
- Website maintenance
- Accounting fees
- Phone and travel expenses
- Rent and utilities
- Annual business registration fees
- Incorporation costs
- Corporate income tax

Setting aside salaries, web costs, travel, and rent—can you help me with two things? 1. Roughly how much should I budget for the other items listed? 2. What am I missing? Is there anything else I'll be paying monthly or annually?

I need this info fairly quickly, so apologies if this has already been asked somewhere else...

Thanks
Some kind of urinary issue... I think? in Health ·
Hey Enivejz, here’s what I’m dealing with... Sometimes there’s this slight stinging sensation when I pee. Even once my bladder is empty, I get this gross, nagging feeling that I still need to go, almost like something is stuck in the urethra. I’ll head back to the bathroom just to squeeze out two more drops, but the sensation doesn't budge. It usually settles down after about half an hour if I drink some cranberry juice, but the cycle repeats the next time I go. This happens for a day or two, then vanishes for months. It seems to flare up more often during the winter.

What do you think this could be?

Chloe Lopez77, I’d say you should really sit down and think long and hard about what you actually want out of life. If it truly feels that uninspiring, just walk away. Don't worry about disappointing your parents or anyone else. If you aren't feeling it now, you're never going to finish. I know from experience—I've started a mountain of things just because I felt pressured to, and none of them ever saw the light of day because my heart wasn't in it.

Regarding journalism, honestly? Look into some alternatives. It’s not that I have anything against any specific college major, but there’s just no money in journalism. On average, they're some of the most unemployed people in the US. A tiny handful actually make it to the level of a major network anchor like Walter Cronkite or Anderson Cooper if that's your goal. But if you look closer, you'll see most "journalists" making a decent living are just working behind the scenes. You rarely hear their names, they pull in an average salary of maybe $3,000 a month, and the kicker? Most of them didn't even study journalism.

Sure, investigative journalism is an interesting path, but you’ll either be constantly sucking up to some editor just to get sent on a story, or you'll be funding your own work.

Anyway, that's just my take. Do what you gotta do. 👍
