That was just some outdated marketing—I guess
About two weeks ago, I had cataract surgery performed at the Mayo Clinic. They implanted a Johnson & Johnson monofocal lens—AABBOO, if I recall correctly—which brought my prescription down to -0.5, though I’m still stuck with a -1.0 cylinder. I suppose I’m satisfied for now. My vision feels a bit unstable—though apparently, you have to wait at least a month for things to settle—but we'll see.

Back in 2005, I took out an auto loan in Swiss Francs through Porsche Financial Services—direct from the leasing company, which was allowed back then before the Federal Reserve stepped in to ban that kind of lending—and I paid it off in full by 2010. They hiked the interest rate twice, if I recall correctly, though they didn't even bother specifying the new rates in the notices. Do I have any chance here? What kind of paperwork am I going to need?

You'll definitely need your original loan agreement, and any other bank documents you might have—if you can't find them, we can try to get them.
If the claim against JPMorgan Chase hasn't expired, parts of the claims against other banks might be past the limit, though we can often work around those statutes too.
Either way, if that loan wasn't converted, suing is totally worth it because winning the case is a sure thing!

I also took out an auto loan in Swiss Franc back in 2005 through Porsche Financial Services (it was allowed back then) and finished paying it off by 2010. They hiked the interest rate twice—if I recall correctly—without even specifying the new rate in the notice. Do I have a shot here? What kind of documentation should I gather?
Does anyone have a private specialist they’d recommend for cataract surgery?
BTW—during my exam at Knezović, they suggested an extended depth of focus lens—for distance and intermediate vision, specifically for computer work.
Has anyone here actually dealt with those?

I’m looking for some insight regarding retinal ablation. I had surgery four months ago—it was an ablation involving a rupture and macular detachment—and I’m normally nearsighted at -7. My prescription should technically be about 2 diopters higher now, but I still need my follow-up appointment to get the exact numbers. What’s really bothering me, though, is that vision in that eye is still distorted; lines look wavy. Can they even get an accurate prescription like this? And is there any chance the ablation failed or happened again?

I went through the same thing late last August. My prescription shot up too—actually, it's still climbing because I developed a cataract, so I'll likely need surgery for that soon. Fortunately, my vision is relatively clear now, though things looked pretty wavy at first... maybe you're dealing with some astigmatism...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a private eye doctor to get a lens replacement? I guess I'm looking for someone decent—any suggestions?

Yeah, the search bar is gone...

Has the water been restored in the small town yet? It's still been out since 11:00 AM yesterday...
Which auto insurance should I go with? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Does anyone have experience with Google insurance?

They offered me the best rates I've seen—compared to other providers—for both liability and collision coverage on a brand-new car, so I'm thinking about just giving them my money... maybe.

State Farm actually bases their collision rates on the dealer's invoice, not some catalog... checked it myself!

Paul Bishop3 said:Every single insurance company calculates premiums based on the manufacturer's suggested retail price, not the discounted one. Nothing new here. If a dealership gives you a 50% discount, then the car isn't being insured at its actual value. They could practically give it to you for a dollar, but you don't think the collision coverage would cost $3.25 then, do you?

Give me a break. Importers constantly inflate MSRPs just so they can dangle those "special offers" and massive discounts later. They could easily set the base price at $83333 and then flip the car for half that amount. I guess if they did that, how much would you actually end up paying for collision coverage?

I've been with State Farm for years now—years. I sent them an inquiry today regarding liability and collision coverage for my new car once it finally arrives—bam! Liability is pretty much what you'd expect, I guess, but for the collision part? They’re basing the price on the full MSRP without any discount! It's unbelievable; they use the sticker price that the dealer never actually sells the car for!!! Because, obviously, they always sell it with a massive discount. Right now $10000, dropping from $157,500.00 down to $127,500.00! Where on earth does that kind of logic come from? A dealer can value a vehicle however they want, but they sell it at the price the market is actually willing to pay! Only we would fall for this sort of thing.

A simple dilemma here: should I finance a car over five years using euros at a fixed 4.99% rate, or go with dollars at a variable 6.55%? In the latter case—if my math is right—the monthly payment jumps by about $1.50.
It seems obvious that the first option is the better deal, but looking ahead...
What would you all advise?

Thanks. It's fixed! Turns out Excel was sitting in the Program Files (x86) directory—who knew?
ruggedcyclist7 said:Just right-click the Excel file and check the properties—it should show you which program is actually set to open it.

Excel isn't even an option for me—that’s the whole issue.
I'm having an issue opening my Excel files—specifically imported ones. For some reason, my laptop keeps defaulting to Excel Starter instead of Excel 2010, and I can't seem to change the setting no matter what I try. It's incredibly frustrating. I can get around it by opening a blank workbook in Excel 2010 first and then importing the file manually, which works fine, but the moment I double-click the file itself, it jumps right back to the Starter version. To make matters worse, if I uninstall Excel Starter entirely, the files won't open at all! Interestingly, this doesn't happen with my Word 2010 files.
I hope that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated!

I’m heading to the Voloder Fall Festival this Sunday—planning to just park along the curb—and I'm worried I'll come back to some $75 ticket under Article 82, Section 3 (parking at the intersection of St. Anthony Square and St. Barbara Street). From what I could see where I parked, it isn't even an intersection—anyone who actually knows Voloder knows it's just the stretch between the church and the little bridge toward Topeka on the right side of the road. What’s the move here? Should I contest it based on the fact that they got the facts wrong? Besides, the notice itself lacks a stamp, a signature, or any kind of official header—it's just a slip of paper with a payment voucher stapled to the back. Theoretically, anyone could shove a piece of paper like that under a wiper... I guess. Any advice?
