My husband took out a mortgage with a co-signer, all in USD. We had a fixed rate of 5.5% for the first two years, and after that, it would become variable—they told us when we asked that it would be somewhere around 6.3% to 6.5%. It hadn't even been two years before they hiked our interest rate up to 6.3%. When we went down there to demand an explanation, they claimed we had breached the contract because my husband wasn't receiving his paycheck into his checking account (he had lost his job in the meantime, even though we had still been paying the loan diligently every single month). Then, just two months later, they slapped us with a new rate of 7.65%. When I went to see why, they just told me that this was the "variable rate" and that it depended on current market conditions.
He had actually notified them on time about being unemployed, and yet they still raised the interest rate.
I submitted a request to have the rate lowered, but nothing. Every time I call, they tell me it's being "slowly reviewed" and that they are all away on vacation.
It seems like while everyone was caught up in that whole mess with the currency fluctuations, these banks saw a golden opportunity to hike rates on everyone else, using "market conditions" as their pathetic excuse.😠

I am honestly sick to death of everyone constantly commenting on my midsection. It’s always the same tired remarks: "You've filled out a bit," "Your ankles look swollen," or "Did you gain weight or not?" Honestly, why does anyone feel entitled to comment on such an intimate matter? It’s none of their business. But what really gets under my skin are those women who have experienced miscarriages and feel the need to dump that trauma on me. They share these stories as if they think I actually want to hear them—as if telling me about their loss is somehow going to protect me or just leave me feeling anxious and unsettled.
And don't even get me started on people who start sentences with, "If the baby is born healthy and well..." Seriously? Why is there an immediate need to pivot to such a pessimistic, "what-if" scenario right out of the gate?

I ended up getting a written warning instead of an actual fine since it was my first offense, so I’m wondering if this will still be flagged as a violation when I get pulled over next time? Also, does a warning like this have an expiration date, or does it just stay on my record indefinitely?

Even with alcohol—and I mean hard liquor—it evaporates quickly; you only catch a whiff at first. Honestly, this really is the best fix out there, because I've tried everything else under the sun.

Personally, I’ll just soak a thicker sock in some alkohol and walk around the house for a bit, or sometimes I just let them sit on my feet. It’s easily the fastest and most effortless method I've found! However, I wouldn't recommend doing this with anything made from super synthetic materials, because the alkohol can actually eat away at the dye and damage the fabric itself.

Take two pairs of socks, soak them thoroughly in some high-proof vodka, shove your feet into your shoes, and just start walking. Do that a few times and you'll see the leather start to stretch out and give. Just keep in mind, this trick only works if you're dealing with genuine leather.
