The funds go directly to the university's account based on the invoice they issue you 😉

Good grief 😍
First off—interest rates at savings institutions are currently sitting at their lowest point. We’re seeing everything hover around 5%, and those are fixed rates. On the flip side, these institutions offer inter-finance options, which means they can actually extend loans larger than what you've personally saved. Then again, it’s better to start saving now—even if it’s just a fraction of the total—rather than being forced to take out a massive loan from a major bank later on 😉

p.s. Bank of America might be your best bet, though that doesn't make them the gold standard for everyone else 😉
For me, they aren't 😉

God, I just love people who mistake following the law for some grand heist. The law was passed by the US Congress—and you voted for the same people I did, so don't act surprised 😉
And no, banks aren't going to come knocking just because someone writes that they're paying you for something you sold them. In that case, you probably won't even get a phone call. They’ll actually bother calling you if a legal entity—like a corporation—makes a transfer and either writes something ridiculous in the memo or leaves it blank 🤷

The bank won't just give you a call if they can't make sense of your transfer reason—they’ll demand a signed statement confirming the source of funds. And no, this isn't some arbitrary rule cooked up by the branch; it’s straight out of the federal banking regulations 😉

Now that you all seem to have sorted things out, I'll weigh in 🤣

Some banks run these special promotional periods where clients whose savings mature during the window get to qualify for a larger loan than what they actually saved for—basically a little sweetener. But that’s only while the promotion is active. What happens when you actually go to pull that credit 🤷

The bank is taking my entire paycheck... in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Look, my friend, my blood pressure truly spikes whenever I read the kind of nonsense 😠
Seriously, please enlighten me—how exactly am I supposed to buy an apartment without a mortgage?
I grew up in San Diego and eventually landed a job in Washington, D.C. Back then, I was paying $667 just to rent a tiny studio. By paying that rent, I was essentially paying off someone else's mortgage for that unit. Eventually, I bought myself a place twice that size, and my monthly payment is only $733. So, go ahead—explain to me how I could have saved up for an apartment with a difference of only $67 per month? Or maybe the only viable option is to marry into money 🤔 🤷
To be fair, I could have lived on a park bench to save $733, but honestly, sitting in the rain doesn't exactly appeal to me 😠

I simply cannot wrap my head around people living with rose-colored glasses on. Maybe you have a place to live while you squirrel away cash for a home, but not everyone is starting from the same baseline.

As for banks, mine actually helped me out in this situation rather than dragging me down. I was getting suffocated by various loans, so they refinanced everything for me. Instead of juggling five different payments, I have one that's actually manageable. I realize they didn't do this out of the goodness of their hearts—it’s because they don't want me defaulting, and because they'll ultimately collect more interest from me in the long run. But I never deluded myself into thinking a bank is some kind of charitable organization 🤷

So, I see JPMorgan Chase is rolling out this new interest rate on mortgage loans starting May 1st FOR YOUNG ADULTS at 6.75%. Honestly, I was holding out hope that I’d actually qualify, because let's be real—I feel like one of those "young" people since I'm already hitting 40 🙂
But nope, of course not. Not for me. 😠

The thing is, back when I actually pulled the trigger on my own loan—about two years ago, give or take—this specific offer didn't even exist yet...
Which means I'm stuck sitting here with a 6.95% rate while everyone else gets the deal.

I don't quite follow the math on this 6.95% figure—it doesn't add up. From what I gathered, JPMorgan Chase is currently hovering at 7% for those under 30 and 7.5% for everyone else. Unless you qualify for that youth rate, you should be looking at 7.25% after the reduction. 🤷 🤔
Take a look at that loan agreement—specifically what’s written in the top right corner of the first page. 🤔Usually, they bother to specify exactly what kind of loan we're talking about—and which specific collateral instruments are backing it up. 🤔
The bank is taking my entire paycheck... in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
A Mastercard debit card is essentially just a charge card tied directly to your checking account—meaning JPMorgan Chase treats it the exact same way any other major US bank would. As far as I know, they don't just cancel credit lines out of nowhere; they usually send a series of notices and try to reach an agreement with the client first before things get ugly.
Just head down to the branch and see what your options are right now.

p.s. Regarding those "usury" interest rates—honestly, give me a break. Late fees and interest are legally mandated. You took money that belongs to the bank, and suddenly those rates are "predatory"? I’m not exactly rolling in cash myself, but I don't blame the bank for my situation—I blame myself for spending more than I was bringing in. 😉

We all put way too much hope into new admins, though you've probably noticed things have actually improved since they started cleaning up the PŽK.
Things were rough for a while, but give people their first hundred days to prove themselves 😉

I can only speak for myself, but some solid progress has been made already—let's hope this trend continues.
It's just a shame when stupidity happens if it could have been avoided entirely; that's the only reason I even posted here. I realize moderation isn't easy—we're all human and mistakes are inevitable—but that’s precisely the point: be human (like Steven Ruiz) and just admit, "my bad."
Regardless, I wish the new admin team nothing but the best moving forward.
Kimberly Nguyen, stop chatting 🤣 🤣 (check your PM 😉)

I simply pointed out that some people don't realize why they received a partial Ban on KZB. It was for opening 10-20 threads without overdoing it, and for bringing up parents and other disgusting insults.
I still maintain that comparing this to Kim Kardashian's chat is absolutely insane.
That is what I was talking about.

Did I ever, even for a single second, compare Steven Ruiz to those idiots? 🤷
We're just spinning our wheels here—it’s like we're in one lane and you're stuck in another. 🤣

I'm done with this—honestly—(I feel completely misunderstood 😢 😍)
Kim Kardashian admitted her mistake, while everyone else just keeps acting exactly how they always have.
You aren't community members; you are moderators, and you need to either act like it or start behaving like actual users.
Your job is to uphold the rules of this forum, not to play games with them—that's the whole story. 😉
And that's it—this is just one post of mine. 🤣

I’m still holding onto the faint hope that this kind of behavior won't become a recurring pattern—which would mean we wouldn't have to deal with threads like this (whether they're serious or just mindless chatter) 😍

Daniel Ward87 said:🤣🤣 At that point, we were just messaging with Steven Ruiz, and if you really think we were being arrogant on purpose...🙏🙏🙏

Honestly, you've got a point... I know for a fact that most moderators do this intentionally. They act smug, basically spit in the faces of regular users, and mock people when they complain about getting banned... not to mention the blacklists and everything else. 👍

Daniel Ward87

Don't troll. 😉
No matter how much effort you put in—it’s simply impossible to turn this thread into anything resembling a joke. 😉

Steven Ruiz—I’ve gotta hand it to Desiree; unlike you or mistywolf17, she actually had the guts to admit she was wrong.
Daniel Ward87, this behavior is frankly embarrassing for a moderator—whether you choose to admit it or not, it’s the plain truth.

Daniel Ward87 said:It’s honestly sad how you guys act like moderators aren't part of the community too...Regular users break the rules all the time and take the cards and Bans, while mods have to deal with all kinds of nonsense while trying to stay chill, level-headed, and rational—every single day. But the second a mod slips up on the rules, they deserve an even harsher penalty just because they happen to be 🙄

What's with this whole "rules apply to everyone" thing? You guys throw that out constantly, but suddenly the tune changes when it involves the mods. If you're going to preach consistency, then actually be consistent.

Daniel Ward87

I have never whined about a single warning I received, whether I deserved it or not.
People who intentionally flagrant the rules usually face a 100-point penalty—and lately, in many cases, a permanent ban from that specific PDF. To be perfectly clear, I've seen people get permanently banned over just a few posts on that PDF (stuff that wouldn't even bother a decent mod).
And yes, if I believe mods who break the rules should face harsher sanctions—especially when they do it maliciously or just to be jerks—so be it.
If you actually bothered to read my posts, you'd notice an unusual amount of consistency 😍
you aren't your average users!!!!
you are the moderators tasked with upholding the standards of this forum, not making a mockery of them!
I am still genuinely stunned by your attitude—and I hope your admins are too.

shadowpilot8 said:The sheer amount of grinding you people do never ceases to amaze me. 🤣

Listen, fellow moderators, I believe this is what the rest of the commenters are actually looking for:

Yes, people were chatting on the KZB, which isn't permitted, and it turned into a tasteless joke.
Yes, the KZB mods messed up by not closing the thread immediately with a warning and some bans.

But those are the only mistakes. As for everything else, IMHO, the penalties were appropriate. Though I suspect you’d much rather see Steven Ruiz's ban extended and everyone else banned too. 🤷

I'm from the South—it's just how I'm wired. 🤣
Not quite, shadowpilot8—as far as I'm concerned, I just wanted an admission that they messed up with all that chatting. That's it. 🤷
Exactly—the thread should have been closed, people punished, and that should have been the end of it. Instead, Steven Ruiz gets his Ban lifted, while Daniel Ward87 insists that a single post doesn't count as chatting...

Daniel Ward87 said:🙄 Come on, don't be a hypocrite... How many times have you broken the Lions Club rules without getting slapped with an instant three-day ban? Nobody is disputing what we did, but when the moderators mess up, there should be an immediate 3-day ban—no questions asked. When "regular" users screw up, well, that's where the debate starts.

Daniel Ward87

Exactly 😍
because the moderators are supposed to uphold the rules, not break them and turn them into a joke.
It's pathetic that you don't see it that way.

Johnny, idiots exist both in real life and on Reddit. Doing things the right way actually pays off in the long run 😉

Steven Ruiz said:I honestly have no clue why you ended up with 100 points since I can't see into the backend, but let's be real, not every violation is created equal.
It's like if I'm grading my students' PDFs; I'm certainly not going to give the same failing grade to someone who sends a mother back to her hometown as I would to someone just hitting the caps lock key. One thing is much more serious than the other.

My ban actually would have been extended if it hadn't been lifted, and it wasn't just me getting an amnesty, but that third person was also given a break...
And regarding the whole business of posting a private message (though, frankly, I'm not sure what was "private" about someone insulting me, other than their own lack of manners), everything has already been addressed, the penalties were handed out, and the rule is clearly stated.

Even moderators make mistakes sometimes, and we all learn from them...

So I'll ask one more time, what is the actual problem here? Because from where I'm sitting, I just don't see one...

I can tell you firsthand that I received 100 points for a much smaller infraction than what some of the other moderators pulled.
I agree that people make mistakes, and it’s good that you admitted it. Honestly, I wouldn't even be engaging with you if your local sycophants hadn't started jumping to your defense for actions you've already labeled as errors.
Let me repeat: you guys are supposed to be the role models, not the textbook example of how *not* to behave!

Regarding the private messages, you should have handled that differently—the way everyone else does.
Several days passed after you posted it before any sanctions actually kicked in. And then, suddenly, you're granted amnesty (along with Slafko and that other guy)...
I'm fairly certain this wouldn't have ended this way if you hadn't been personally involved. There you have it.

Kyle King4 said:Look, at this point, it’s all about the color of the font. No matter how hard they try to spin it otherwise, that's just the reality of it. 🙂

Even if there is—it should be the exact opposite. Those people (the ones with the black, red, and purple lettering) are supposed to be the ones showing us how to follow the rules, not breaking them through deliberate, calculated design. 🤷

Steven Ruiz said:So, we went ahead and set up the chat, but then we ended up getting slapped with the exact same penalties—you know, those red cards—and now the thread is locked too. It feels like we're being treated just like any other regular forum user, so I'm honestly wondering what the actual issue is here...🤷

The issue is that when I broke the subforum rules, I was hit with a hundred days instead of thirty. 😉
And there's also the fact that if users start chatting in the ban corner, their Ban gets extended. 😉
Not to mention you posting a private message—which, even if it wasn't explicitly forbidden by the site rules, was incredibly tacky (and that's me being polite here).
Steven Ruiz, I don't care what color your font is—it's just wrong for one set of rules to apply to some people while others get a pass.
That—right there—is the problem!
