My suggestion has absolutely nothing to do with Facebook, Google Circles, or any similar social media platforms. It is quite simple: instead of quoting a post just to say "I agree" or "that's it," I should be able to just click a button.
I explicitly stated that this would be an "option during viewing THAT EVERYONE CAN CHANGE FOR THEMSELVES." If you want to follow the flow of a conversation, you sort chronologically. If you want to see the "top" content, you sort by votes.
Both chronological and qualitative sorting have their respective advantages and drawbacks. The fundamental flaw in our current system is that high-quality contributions buried at the bottom of a page or in the middle of a massive discussion become completely invisible, which leads to repetitive arguments and causes threads to die out whenever a heated political flame war breaks out between opposing factions.
On this subreddit, posting nothing but a quote followed by a smiley face or a mindless "I agree" is considered pure spam—it's practically forbidden. This community is built for actual discourse, deep dives, and genuine debate... not just empty noise.
Whether you call it a finger wiggle or whatever—it’s nothing more than a cheap Facebook like; trying to frame it as actual news in a medium like this is just completely pointless.
Are you listening to Anderson??? Pure nonsense! — Get rid of that "like" button on the help forums and bring back the dropdown menu; unlike a useless "like," a dropdown actually serves a purpose and provides utility. 🙂

Great, but how exactly do you plan to stop a swarm of clones from upvoting their own posts? I was there—I saw it all—and I bailed from Reddit the second they opened moderator applications and the clone army started growing even faster than before. This would be an exact carbon copy of that mess.
