Moderators—please clean up this thread and remove those who are simply derailing the topic with their nonsense.
It seems you’re having some trouble grasping the nuances of Forum culture—it’s clearly a bit out of your depth. 😍 So, you start a thread, get absolutely shredded by counterarguments, and then decide—with all the grace of a retreating general—to just go silent for twenty days. 🤣 🤣 The idea that most Americans should vote for a specific option—and the subsequent argument that moderators on an online Forum must follow suit—is fundamentally flawed. An online community is not a microcosm of civil society—it isn't, and frankly, it never could be.
Patrick Bailey4, the first flawed assumption here is that our Forum user base is a perfect mirror of the American population—which, frankly, it isn't. Most people here fall into the younger, working-age demographic or student crowd. One has to wonder what the statistical results would look like if we ran a nationwide poll targeting that specific group 😉. You can't pin that on the Forum leadership, nor on rustydrifter10; it’s simply a matter of digital literacy and how much people actually care about this kind of medium.
The second fallacy is the claim that most mods are against us. First off, there are roughly 190 moderators, yet only about 20 cast a vote—so what exactly constitutes a "majority" here? A majority of what? Based on those numbers, it implies the entire moderation team is just indifferent toward the referendum 🤷
Thirdly—and this is the kicker—you want the admin to poll candidates on controversial topics during the mod selection process? Who gets to curate that list of questions? Would you want an employer in the States to grill you on hot-button issues before hiring you—deciding your fate based on whether they like your takes—or would you be screaming about discrimination then?
Joshua Gray75 said:Oh, please... if the transaction was processed (and that's what the record shows), the money will be debited from his account regardless—even if it pushes him into an unauthorized overdraft... the thing is, if a transfer hits a different bank after 3:00 PM, it usually won't be posted until the next business day. In this specific case—given the holiday weekend—that wouldn't be until Monday. As far as I can see, everything is proceeding normally and the order has been executed... 🤷
That's not right. If there isn't enough cash in the account by Monday, nothing will be withdrawn—and they certainly won't trigger an unauthorized overdraft for it. Overdrafts happen because of interest, service fees, or credit card payments, not because of a pending transfer. Even when you schedule a payment in advance, the system explicitly tells you that you need to have sufficient funds available on that date, otherwise, the transaction just fails.
If his account isn't sufficiently funded by Monday, the transfer won't clear—leaving you to decide just how much risk you're willing to stomach. You could tell him to drop the cash off this Saturday and make a direct deposit at your local Chase branch (which guarantees the funds hit your account immediately), or simply wait until Monday afternoon for the Z transfer to settle 🤷
edit: He wasn't playing you. Under US banking regulations, a bank can't pull funds if they can't facilitate the transfer the same day—and since the Fed doesn't process these until Monday morning, he's stuck. Essentially, he set up the instruction to send you the money first thing Monday, but if his balance is empty when the system runs, nothing moves
As far as I'm aware, the answer is no. You can certainly get banned from posting—unless we're talking about the local community board—in which case you might just face a partial restriction on certain sections.
Jacob Cooper5, if you actually had a partial credit score at Chase, you wouldn't even be able to see this thread under your own handle—let alone have the standing to try and reply. Honestly, with how much this insane server is falling apart, we really don't need your brand of conspiracy theories right now. 😉
Steven Chavez2 said:So what you're saying is it doesn't matter if I'm technically in the red for a few hours? Like, if they hit my Mastercard at 12:01 AM on August 20th, but I withdraw the cash and get it back into my checking account by 8:30 AM that same morning, I'm fine?
If I'm following this logic correctly...
Exactly all that matters is that by midnight on the 21st, you aren't overdrawn.
Steven Chavez2 said:That’s the catch—I can't move it from the Mastercard. That's the whole damn issue.
See, my entire credit limit is already tapped out. Right now, my available limit on the card is zero.
The bank clears that limit on September 20th. That's the same day they're supposed to pull the Mastercard fees from my checking account, plus those two other automatic transfers scheduled for my main account.
When they adjust the overdraft, will it reflect that specific amount of $0.50 that I'll be underwater by...? Like, roughly how much are we talking about here?
Look, if your limit clears on the 20th and you pay off the Mastercard on that same day, $500 you won't even hit an overdraft situation. Even if they process the Mastercard payment first and leave you momentarily in the red before your deposit hits, it's a non-issue. They only care about interest if you're sitting in the red—say, you're down $1,500 on the 20th and don't fix it until the 21st—and even then, it's just pennies. They generally only flag the overdraft if you stay in the negative for more than eight days.
If your credit limit is actually available on that same day—honestly, I haven’t checked my Chase Mastercard lately to see when my limit resets—then you won't be hit with any overdraft fees, because technically, you won't even be overdrawn.
Not likely. They generally just slap you with late interest for any delay up to about 6 or 7 days—it’s more of a nuisance than a penalty. I suspect once you hit day 8, they send out a formal notice, which essentially means they'll adjust your overdraft limit for the next cycle. Honestly, if I were you, I'd move that money from the Chase Mastercard to your checking account first thing tomorrow morning—just keep in mind that the cash withdrawal fees on a Mastercard can be pretty steep.
Exactly. The Mastercard bill is covered—that’s a given. But the checking account? That's a different story entirely. Chase treats those as two separate buckets
Steven Chavez2 said:So, I’m using a Chase Mastercard.
The way it works is my statement closes on the 10th of every month, and then on the 20th, they pull whatever balance I racked up on the Mastercard straight from my checking account.
And get this—on that exact same day, they also pull two separate installments for my Maestra payments (which were charged directly to my debit card).
I just checked my checking account balance and realized I am absolutely not going to have enough cash to cover all of this by September 20th.
My first thought was to just transfer some funds from the Mastercard over to my checking to bridge the gap, but I can't even do that because my available credit is sitting at exactly zero right now.
I don't have anyone to borrow money from, period. That option is totally off the table.
So, here is my question. If I can't scrape the money together, what actually happens?
Are they going to throw me into the red? Will they freeze my account entirely? And what happens to those two installment payments on my checking? (Both are set up as automatic transfers).
How does Bank of America actually handle things when you don't have enough in your account to cover the Mastercard bill?
It’ll push you into an overdraft—and simultaneously free up your Mastercard limit. Being overdrawn for just one day isn't the end of the world—they'll just charge you a day's worth of penalty interest. However, if you think you're going to struggle with these Mastercard payments long-term, you should probably head down to the bank and ask about a consolidation loan to get everything squared away.🤷
stormyraven14 said:Ace, you’re honestly just so irritating and arrogant in how you carry yourself—acting like there isn't a single soul around you (which explains why nobody even knows who Paul Morales3 is)—that it’s really no wonder the mods have to read your posts with extra caution. This topic you've brought up is about as relevant as the outskirts of Topeka or Lansing... basically a zone of special government concern. It's not like any woman said anything terrible to you, so I'm assuming you're just making up complaints because you want to be nominated for moderator again.
If you could see past the end of your own nose, you'd realize that's NOT how moderators are chosen—you'd need to be a long-time contributor with thousands of posts like 🤣
Go take a nap, and maybe come back once velvettrucker52 finishes rearranging the kids' room and actually has some free time... perhaps then your little complaint will gain traction and Kate Foster12 will nominate you for mod.😬
Good grief, this is worth watching—honestly, you've been getting on my nerves for a year and a half now... finally, an opportunity.😁
I suspect that student account doesn't actually include free transactions 🤔 :too lazy to bother scouring the JPMorgan Chase website: 😍
$0.67 You're talking about transfers outside the Bank, $0.33 whereas inside—they don't charge for transfers to checking or savings accounts for individuals within JPMorgan Chase.
If you aren't rocking a premium card or taking advantage of those zero-fee accounts, the charge is $0.67. $0.33 is what they’re doing over at JPMorgan Chase
But honestly—there aren't enough emojis available per post to react to everything with a 👍 so, quite frankly, we need an increased emoji quota per post. 🧐

Man, I know what a dropdown menu is. ☕
So, what was it actually supposed to do?
Before they brutally snatched it away from us during one frantic night—it served as a way to jump from one PDF to another without having to go back to the cover page every single time. In other words, it was an elevator, unlike the stairs we’re stuck climbing now.🤷
