Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
copperraven53 said:Wait, so you went to a different gynecologist than your regular one?

Look, something definitely isn't right here. If your periods are irregular, sex hurts, you've got pelvic pain, and then a doctor feels something weird on your ovary... yeah, something is up. My advice? Go get a second opinion. Seriously, go find a private specialist and get another ultrasound. I know they aren't cheap, but if I were you, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I had the exact same thing happen once. One doctor told me there were absolutely no cysts, even though I told him another doctor found one and I was in pain. I didn't buy his story for a second. I trusted my gut, went for another ultrasound elsewhere, and boom—they confirmed the cyst and even gave me the printed images to prove it.

Bottom line: get another ultrasound, and make sure you do it during the first half of your cycle—ideally within the first 10 days. If that comes back "perfect" too (even though they should be looking at that tiny cyst the other lady mentioned), then you really need to check your hormone levels and head back to your primary OBGYN to figure this out. You gotta find the root cause of why you're feeling this way.

The problem is I don't trust her anymore. I actually went to a specialist before for an ultrasound that showed cysts, and she just brushed it off, saying the results weren't even accurate. I don't get it. And I can't afford to pay for all these hormone tests privately, and she's definitely not going to write me a referral for Medicare to cover them. I'm stuck... I don't know whether to keep trying or just find a new gynecologist entirely.😢

And she actually told me it's all psychological... 🤔 which basically means she thinks I'm losing my mind and that my messed-up cycles are all in my head? It's crazy, considering how I managed to get pregnant in the first place with cycles like this...

So, I just finished my ultrasound. Honestly, I can’t tell if everyone there is losing their minds or if that doctor genuinely has no clue what she’s doing. My ovaries and uterus look fine, though there is this tiny, clear spot inside my left ovary... but the doctor insists everything is perfectly normal. On top of all that, I ended up paying $33 at the clinic without even getting a formal receipt. Now I’m starting to wonder if she was just pressuring me to squeeze some extra cash out of me. When I asked about those pills she mentioned earlier, she acted like she had zero idea what I was talking about. Like, wtf? I’m just completely reeling right now...

copperraven53 said:I don't even know, honestly. It’s possible they always call, but it might not even be your endometriosis, it just reminded me since those are some of the symptoms. I know it sucks, but you're probably just gonna have to hang in there until tomorrow. At least then you'll actually know if it's a simple cyst or one of those so-called "chocolate" ones.

Hopefully it's just some harmless cyst that can be cleared up with pills.

I'm terrified it's some kind of tumor that's spread somewhere, I don't know... all kinds of stupid thoughts are racing through my head. I've always been a total panicker by nature...😢

copperraven53 said:Hmm, those symptoms—pelvic pain, painful sex—they kind of sound like endometriosis to me, though I could be wrong. Either way, you won't know much until after the ultrasound. Are you getting a pelvic ultrasound or a general abdominal one?

It's a gynecological one. I already had the abdominal scan and everything came back fine. Is it even possible for endometriosis to show up after giving birth? It was never diagnosed before...

So, I went in for my routine OBGYN checkup today, and she felt this large cyst near my left ovary. It hurt like hell when she touched it. Honestly, I can feel it myself whenever I’m lying down. I’ve got an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow... Since I’m already bracing myself for the absolute worst, I wanted to ask—is it possible for a cyst like that to put pressure on the colon, or could the pain actually be coming from my colon? Also, can a cyst cause localized lower back pain in just one specific spot? My periods have been totally irregular lately. I had a baby about two and a half years ago, and they had to remove some retained placenta after the birth. Lately, I've been dealing with pelvic pressure, needing to pee more often, and painful intercourse, including some stinging during sex. On top of that, for the last six months, I've been getting this brownish discharge about three days before my period starts. My blood work came back fine, and my PAP test from six months ago was normal too. Please, if anyone knows anything, I'm honestly terrified... 😢
How to gain weight? in Health ·
I was wondering if anyone has advice on how to actually gain weight when you're dealing with chronic gastritis and GERD? I'm sitting at only 97 pounds at 5'5"...
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Anyone got a solid gastro recommendation? I tried booking through Mercury but they aren't taking appointments right now, and the clinics over in Brooklyn and the outskirts aren't even picking up the phone. I already faxed over my referral and all my info, but honestly, things are a little tight with money right now so I really need to find someone covered by Medicare...

Can cysts actually pop up again after a pregnancy? And when’s the best time to get an ultrasound on my ovaries if I’m worried about them? I've been feeling this weird discomfort around my left ovary for a while now, and every single time my period ends, the pain starts kicking in hard... It's definitely more on the left side than the right. It's not a bladder infection either; I already had a urine culture done and everything came back clear...
And could those cysts cause swollen lymph nodes in my groin?
Painful urination and low urine output in Women's Health ·
Oh, and I should probably mention—I was only hitting the restroom maybe two or three times max all day, and honestly? I didn't even feel like my bladder was full... 🤷

it'll pass eventually.
I went through the exact same thing and it dragged on forever... ugh... I think it was almost 3 or 4 months after I gave birth.

Laura Jackson56 said:but that whole urethra issue really messed with me for a few months.

did they put a catheter in you?
they did mine.
pretty much everyone getting an epidural gets one, so I figured that was probably why.

oh, yeah. eat some cranberries and make your own cranberry juice.
it could totally be an infection from the catheter.

same story here, I was in pain until just a couple months ago. could be the catheter or the epi... I didn't even start peeing normally until recently, and sitting down comfortably? definitely wasn't happening for at least 2 months postpartum... plus, they actually had to fix my stitches at the hospital (what they call "cleaning things up" 🤣) because they stitched me way too tight and I couldn't even walk. once they fixed it, I felt like a new woman... though I ended up stuck in the hospital for 10 days because of jaundice, and I couldn't even walk until those last 2 days... 🙄

cranberries are definitely worth it, I drank them constantly. but I heard nursing moms shouldn't touch uva ursi 🤷
is it really that hard to just go out and buy a test 🤔
So I picked up some Clearblue and Google tests, and both came back positive... As far as symptoms go, I’ve just got breakouts everywhere like I’m going through puberty all over again, an insane appetite, and I've already put on about 15 pounds and my waist is up by 3 inches. My last period was on June 9th. 😍I'm gonna die tomorrow 😍

George Garcia9 said:You aren't heartless. 😘 If you were, you wouldn't need to be on antidepressants in the first place. 😛

I go through phases where I won't cry for six months straight, and then other times I'm practically weeping every single day. 🤷

I feel pretty numb 😵
🤣

But whatever... 😢
Empty... I don't even know how else to put it... 🤷
So I’ve been scrolling through your posts for a bit, and I can’t help but notice how much everyone here seems to be crying their eyes out. For some reason, I just can't seem to do that—not even before I was on antidepressants, and honestly, not really now that I am either. Is it possible I'm just suppressing everything, or do I actually lack emotions altogether? 😕 While everyone else is having their big emotional breakdowns, I’m just sitting here totally numb 😕 why does it work like this? 🙂
Sometimes I feel like I'm just completely heartless 🤷
Anyone got a smart explanation for this?

Hey there.
I’m 5'5" and barely 100 lbs, currently 23 years old. I’ve always been this thin, and honestly, every time I’ve gone in for blood work, everything comes back totally normal. But man, trying to put on weight is such a struggle... especially now that I'm dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, and gastritis on top of everything else. Does anyone have any actual advice on how to pack on some pounds while juggling all this? thanks 🙏
Douglas King9 said:Look, here’s my situation... I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried to hit the reset button—fighting against all those bad habits, deciding to finally do something for myself, you know?
But every single time, I just quit. I fail. And now, both consciously and subconsciously, the willpower and motivation are just gone. It’s like there's this internal voice telling me I won't make it this time either, and I don't even know how to fight back anymore.
It’s a terrible feeling... 😢

That's exactly where I'm at today too. A panic attack almost took me out again, but I was so exhausted I just crashed. Things were actually looking up for a second, and then out of nowhere today, everything just tanked again. Now I'm just sitting here feeling pathetic and miserable, but angry at the same time 🙂
George Garcia9 said:"FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT"—that's exactly what I do😉 when I'm out at school, out on the town, grabbing coffee... okay, but once I'm home alone...... total depression. 😢 Dammit.

But whatever, I'm not giving up. I'm celebrating my birthday, I'm going to class, and I know I have to work on myself because clearly my therapist isn't doing the trick... so, yeah. Think pink, do your best, and screw the rest. 🙂

You're making progress, seriously. Hang in there! 🙂
Thanks 😍
Honestly, ever since I started posting about all the crap I’m dealing with, I’ve actually been feeling a bit better. You should try hitting up an aerobics class or something where you can just go wild and vent all that negative energy... I'm planning on starting aerobics this Monday 😉
As for any actual expert advice, I don't have much to offer since I'm just starting my own journey of tackling anxiety and panic attacks. There are a few people on here (check out the anxiety thread) who might be able to help you more out—Sweet Child O' Mine and Taylor Swift have both been through the wringer and really know their stuff 😉
That's all I've got for now...
