The only horror film that actually works for me is the original Dark Water. I can't remember what the Japanese version was called, and honestly, I don't even care to find out. It isn't even a traditional horror movie; it’s more of a strange, unique blend of genres. arta It’s a psychological thriller.

True. But that also implies we need a clever villain...

It was just some good old-fashioned slaughter. The characters were acting foolish and impulsive, whereas nowadays everyone acts like some kind of genius—you know the type, acting all tough and untouchable like they’ve seen it all, even though they're just asking for trouble.

Personally, I prefer it when the characters actually have some brains. It's frustrating when I find myself rooting for the villain just to end the scene because their stupidity is so grating.
