Oh, absolutely..🙂
Northern Exposure (1990-1995) in TV Series ·
redowl90 said:I picked up the first season, and I’m planning on grabbing the rest soon...

It’s easily one of the top five series ever made, though it’s really more of a one-time watch...

NEVER. It isn't worth constant rewatching. You just need to put on whatever else is on to forget those tiny little flaws...

Born.
July 3, 1962.

Someone has clearly been watching too much outlaw country...

Perhaps it was because the women were the primary fighters?

Does anyone actually use VLC Media Player to listen to high-fidelity audio files?

I usually stick to Winamp or iTunes..
Love Actually (2003)
Bill Nighy, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman, Billy Bob Thornton, Rowan Atkinson, ......
What is your take on the theme ''great cast, terrible movie''?
Amanda Lopez50 said:...so, that same holy trinity is just as flawless in Boogie Nights 😍

I know 😍...there's also the dark side to it all.
...and while Steve Buscemi is a genius, he’s part of that other trio: Buscemi - Goodman - John Turturro.😍

I honestly wonder why Steve Buscemi wasn't in O Brother, Where Art Thou?..he was the only one missing.
Great casting, terrible movie in Movies ·
Amanda Lopez50 said:Unfortunately, that was the exact movie that made me lose all respect for—the recent Oscar winner—Forest Whitaker, and nothing has been able to win me back (mind you, I haven't seen The Last King of Scotland yet)...

In that case, you absolutely have to watch Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999)
. It’ll restore your faith in him..
Great casting, terrible movie in Movies ·
Species (1995)—Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Alfred Molina, Forest Whitaker, Marg Helgenberger... honestly, it feels like trash all over again. The only decent reason to sit through this one is, of course, Natasha Henstridge.
wearygardener13 said:Man, I couldn't even get through five minutes of The Royal Tenenbaums. Wes Anderson just isn't my style. 🤮

That was actually the only one of his films I've seen. I really need to track down Rushmore and The Life Aquatic before I can give a proper opinion on him.
wearygardener13 said:I am not suggesting he lacks good films; I am simply stating he is a poor actor.😁 😁

I rarely judge an actor based solely on their roles. The quality of the acting usually mirrors the quality of the film itself.

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
Gene Hackman, Anjelica Huston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bill Murray, Alec Baldwin, and of course, the comedic trio of Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, and Owen Wilson.

Interestingly, Wes Anderson's films always seem to feature the best casts.
wearygardener13 said:It isn't actually about the films themselves; rather, it is about labeling him such a talented actor. 😬

There are some truly excellent films on this list. The Usual Suspects, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Snatch, Traffic, 21 Grams, and Sin City—they are all wonderful.
wearygardener13 said:Well, you have certainly let me down now. 👎

I understand. However, he does have a few interesting films under his belt, such as your favorite, The Usual Suspects. 😬
Magnolia (1999)
- William H. Macy, John C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman (this trio really needs Steve Buscemi to be complete), Julianna Moore, Tom Cruise, Alfred Molina, Luis Guzmán
Sin City
- Benicio Del Toro, Michael Clarke Duncan, Rutger Hauer, Michael Madsen, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis... and what an all-male cast this is!

I'm being a bit soft on him... damn... I forgot his last name is actually Aja... though I suppose you can tease someone by their surname too.

cosmicraven2 said:True, though it was a bit clumsy. That scene where they shove the American flag down someone's throat while patriotic music plays came off as "unintentionally funny," as Americans might say. Otherwise, Aja did an excellent job, and I am eagerly anticipating his next film. The sequel looks promising, though it seems much more action-heavy.

Yeah... but he isn't directing it..

Nicholas Walker3 said:Don't tell me the original was worse!
I actually own both versions at home, but I decided to check out the remake since my wife isn't really into black-and-white films. After seeing this one, I don't even feel like revisiting the original anymore. Honestly, I just don't see how you could make a truly great movie out of a story like this. And after reading your comment, I think my interest is officially gone.

Don't take my word for it. I saw the original ages ago—way back before the war. But if my memory serves me right, the first one was really just a standard slasher.

Nicholas Walker3 said:I honestly found it a disaster, especially compared to Silent Hill. It’s been ages since I sat through something so shallow and tedious.

I thought the gore scenes were solid, and it actually had a slightly deeper plot than the first one... though I'm still skeptical about whether a sequel will hold up.
