Go watch Star Wars: A New Hope from '77, The Empire Strikes Back from '80, and Return of the Jedi from '83. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Don't even bother with the newer stuff unless you absolutely have to—maybe Episode III if you're really feeling it, but honestly? Just skip them. 👎
Akira in Movies ·
Seriously, one of the greatest anime of all time. It was the first anime to really break into the US market, and honestly, its influence on thousands of other shows and series—including The Matrix—is just insane...

Anyone else remember Blood Sport? Honestly, even today, I think it’s a solid flick. Way better than stuff like Lionheart or Hard Target...
Jean-Claude Van Damme in America! in Movies ·
Look, most of his movies don't really hold up for me today, but I’ve gotta give respect to the absolute legend who was my childhood hero.
Jean-Claude Van Damme 🙏 🙏 🙏

He's actually hanging out with Mirko Filipović, who grew up looking up to Van Damme just like I did.

8 for, 22 against, but hey, you guys are such romantics... 😁

I’m honestly dying to know if Liverpool FC actually stands a chance in this Champions League 🤣
I mean, they could probably go out and crush FC Barcelona on their own turf, then turn around and lose to Southampton...
But hey, when the big dogs are playing this well, maybe they’ll actually take home the trophy in this new league.

Lisa Wells65 said:I saw that one a while back and really liked it. Honestly though, I just have a huge soft spot for any of those big historical epics starring Charlton Heston. They just don't make them like that anymore.😁 I picked up the book later on, and honestly, I loved it too.🙂

You got any idea who actually wrote this thing? Like, what's the author's name and the actual title?

Anyone else catch this flick lately? What’d you think, was it actually any good?

Honestly, I don't give a damn about the small clubs. They're pathetic and play such boring, defensive football.
el Cid (1961) in Movies ·
A total historical epic starring Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren—honestly one of the greatest movies ever made.
It’s all about the brave Spanish fight against the Arab invasion, but also dives into the love, hate, and deep friendship between el Cid and an Arab nobleman whose life he actually saved.

I get why NYCFC fans lean right. Honestly, I’d be losing my mind too if people were moving into the suburbs and taking over everything...

blueseal said:Small clubs. That’s what he meant. Honestly, I think it's just plain stupid. This kind of thing had to happen in the US because, let's face it, there isn't much international flair over there anyway (well, maybe if you count those two teams from Canada). What the Champions League actually gives us is that rush of watching the absolute giants battle it out every two weeks. Once we find out who the winner is in May, we just spend the summer counting down the days until the next season starts. And like Ethan Perez97 said, if we had matches like this every single Saturday and Sunday, it would be just as exciting as watching San Francisco vs. Ohio. I'm not saying those aren't good teams—I actually root for Ohio—but the hype is on a whole different level when you've got Real Madrid and Bayern Munich on the pitch. Not to mention how much it would tank the quality of all the other leagues. I mean, where did guys like Shevchenko, Zidane, or Nedved come from? They came from smaller leagues that would become even weaker under this system, while actual young talents would just wither away while a bunch of grandfathers played in the G16.

Look, people tune into the Champions League to see FC Barcelona, Manchester United, or Inter Milan. Nobody is sitting around watching Lille OSC, RSC Anderlecht, or Olympiacos—and they definitely aren't watching teams from
Dinamo Bratislava, Moscow, Bucharest, Tirana, or Chicago...

Lens and Lille are seriously getting on my nerves. If any small-town clubs are going to make a run in Europe, it should be Auxerre or Nantes (though they’re unfortunately stuck in the relegation zone right now)
Zoolander in Movies ·
Such a great film, and I'm especially digging David Duchovny's cameo as Mulder

Doesn't work for soccer in America.

You can't just tell some high school kid, "Hey, you're turning 18 now, so pack your bags for Udinese Calcio because they picked you in the draft." That's not how it works here.

And who’s to say Udinese Calcio wouldn't absolutely crush it in a league like that?

We're talking heavy hitters: FC Barcelona, Juventus FC, Bayern Munich, Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester United, Liverpool FC, and Real Madrid.
Maybe even throw in AS Roma, Ajax Amsterdam, Olympique Lyonnais, or PSV Eindhoven.

Let’s be real, the Champions League is basically just a closed loop for the top 7 or 8 clubs anyway. If every country just bought up the TV rights, we could actually have high-stakes football to watch every single weekend.

The prestige in the game totally died out a long time ago. It vanished the exact moment that Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro snagged the Ballon d'Or.
