Hey ladies, I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find a decent folk band—maybe something along the lines of TSK—that’s actually versatile enough to play all sorts of music? We're looking for a group that would be willing to perform a full dinner set rather than just playing some background tunes, all while staying within a reasonable budget, I guess.

I don't think Victoria showed up for makeup duty either, so I guess her neighbor had to step in and save the day just enough to get things moving.

rustyjackal26, I guess I’d really recommend checking out the Zelengaj Hall over near Memphis—it’s kind of right halfway between Indianapolis and St. Louis, if that helps at all. We actually had our wedding there last year, and honestly, we had such an amazing time, it was just too good.

Can someone give me the lowdown on The Dave Brubeck Quartet?
From what I’ve been watching in these clips, they look absolutely incredible to me.
What's the vibe like during their sets—do they take many breaks, and how is the overall atmosphere?
Thanks.😉

They are honestly phenomenal, and their only breaks were just for the first and second dinner service; even during the second break, the singer couldn't even sit down because he kept running over to us to jump around and sing along!

Paul Fisher34 said:hey.. I was wondering if anyone here has actually worked with MarMa lighting for weddings out in Columbus?? Also, does anyone know how their pricing usually works? Like, what am I looking at? 🙂

Hey! They actually did the lighting for our wedding last year—they handled everything from the dance floor lights and those cool bubble effects to the fog machines and even the special lighting for the newlyweds' table $667, and they were asking for about $1000
for the whole venue. Honestly, I was pretty happy with how it turned out

I actually picked mine up at Victoria's Secret $30
it was for a wedding too, actually
usually I wear a 95 C, and when I put this on and smoothed out my wedding dress, everything just stayed perfectly in place, you know? 🙂

I mean, the sale at Old Navy is basically over 70 percent off right now, so the prices are honestly amazing—like, you can grab jeans for around $50 and dresses for just 200...

Has anyone here dealt with that Sax band from Des Moines? Have you heard them before?

They actually played at my wedding, and honestly, I can't say anything but the absolute best things about them.
If you're looking for a total blast, you should definitely reach out to them.

Tyler Campbell59, I’d honestly suggest looking into the Zelenkrov venue, since that’s where I actually had my wedding
The restaurant is right off the highway near the entrance to the big state park, maybe about 15 miles outside of Jackson, so it’s super easy for folks traveling from out of town to find, and even easier for locals nearby. They also have a motel right on-site if anyone needs to stay over, and as far as the food and drinks go, you can pretty much work out whatever you want with them.
I really loved how they kept everything with that classic, old-school charm, so here is their link, but if you want to know more about what my experience was actually like, I can definitely send you a private message.

Sex myths: What's actually true? in Women's Health ·
Let me break down some quick math for you...
The average cycle for an American woman usually runs about 28 to 30 days.
If we're looking at a standard 28-day cycle, the fertile window typically spans from day 10 through day 16, though days 15 and 16 are really the peak. We include those earlier days because, let's face it, sperm can hang around for several days, which is honestly kind of wild if you think about it.
Just to be safe, I’d say we should probably round that window out to somewhere between 10 and 20 days—mostly because your girlfriend might not have a perfect 28-day cycle.
Since you mentioned she’s expecting her period this Thursday, which would be day 28, and you guys had sex on Saturday, which was day 22, there really isn't any chance she got pregnant, especially since you pulled out.
Even if her period ends up being a little late, it could totally just be due to things like stress or even catching a cold...

Hey everyone, I just wanted to jump in here and let you all know that it's actually possible to shop pretty smart, even for us "budget-conscious" folks like me.
$160I was just at Target picking up some stuff, and they have a massive 45% off sale going on—it was everything Dorothy Perkins, two pairs of jeans, a dressy top, and a Pin Up dress, all together.

Jacob Grant said:I’ve been seeing quite a few negative comments about Victoria lately, yet she still seems to be in high demand... I wonder, what does she actually charge for bridal makeup? And does she really take on more brides even though she has to travel all over the country to reach them?!

well, she didn't even show up for me on my wedding day, so I can't really speak to her being reliable.

Well, I figured I’d jump into this conversation too, mostly because I feel like I know this topic inside and out, I guess.

When it comes to the whole price issue, I honestly think everyone is exaggerating a little bit.
I mean, I don't make a huge paycheck myself and I don't go out and buy things all the time, but I definitely never drop those insane amounts of money you guys are talking about.
Every single year, I pick up at least two nice dresses from Old Navy over at the local mall—usually around Christmas when they have those sales—and none of them ever cost more than a reasonable amount.$67>
It's the same story with pants, either from there or maybe somewhere like Gap during one of their big promotions, especially since, like you all mentioned, if you have stronger legs, they just seem to wear out eventually regardless of whose brand they are.
I also find myself shopping at thrift stores quite often, and yeah, I have to dig through the racks just like in any other store, but at least I know I'm not blowing a massive fortune.
As for online shopping, I’m totally all for it.
I actually bought my wedding dress online, along with a hundred other smaller things that weren't such a big deal.

Taylor Kelly2 said:I honestly don’t even want to think about my university degree right now... I’m currently taking a complete break from school—I didn't even enroll for this academic year.🤷
Next year, I plan to get back into it once I’ve managed to scrape together whatever bits of strength and willpower I had left at the very beginning...
😢

I haven't even finished paying off my first year yet, but I guess I'm already stuck dealing with two years' worth of back payments that piled up on me because I was too busy playing wedding planner for everyone else.
So I can get a better sense of how everyone is doing... oh man, I just know!

We mostly just lean on each other whenever one of us is feeling totally burnt out on studying 😬
I really should be getting back to my college coursework, but he’s got this big work certification exam coming up, so we’re both just sitting here commiserating about it

I try to pop in and check on everyone here every once in a while just to see if anyone needs a hand, because honestly, I think this forum pretty much saved me when things were rough 😁

I’d say just go ahead and order it now, especially if you’ve got some binding coming up later on—that way you won't have anything to stress about. Maybe ask them to include an extra inch or so of material inside just in case you end up needing to loosen it up or something like that. It'll probably take about a month to arrive, but once it's here, you can just relax and not worry about it anymore.

Hey girls, I thought I'd jump in and help out a little too!
Regarding the photographer, I feel like choosing someone based on just the first option might be a bit tight for you; it's definitely not impossible, but you'll probably end up limiting your choices way more than you should.
It really all comes down to what kind of vibe you're going for, and honestly, most photographers are pretty willing to go the extra mile if you ask them nicely.
I could recommend our usual guy, but he’s actually quite pricey this year—his rate is sitting around $1,000$0.00—and the big question is whether he's even available on your date.

As for the Exclusive crew from El Paso, we actually used them once. They’re pretty expensive because they're so popular, but I have to say, I had quite a few issues with them.
For instance, they did my table arrangements with pink flowers when I specifically asked for purple ones.
The bouquet was this weird lilac color and didn't really have all the specific blooms I requested, plus the ribbon started falling apart right after the wedding ended, and $167 I still had to pay full price for it.
The centerpieces were about $10 per table, and the main one was $300, if I remember correctly. It honestly makes me a little upset because they charged me about $160 in travel fees that were never even mentioned during our initial talks—they only brought it up right when it was time to settle the bill.
I can't help but think they tacked that on because I had a gift voucher worth $167, so I guess it all balanced out in the end anyway.

On a totally different note, I actually made my own church bows using that clear plastic sheeting they use to cover salad greens at the grocery store, and they looked surprisingly great! If my memory serves me right, it cost me about thirty bucks for a 10-meter roll.

If you aren't in a huge rush, I guess you might want to just hang on for the winter sales, then maybe head over to the Old Navy at the Avenue Mall because they usually mark down their pants to somewhere around 100-$67

Since everything is already behind us, I feel like I can actually give you some honest recommendations based on our experience
We held our reception at a big venue in rural Pennsylvania, but since we just rented the hall itself, I can't really speak to the catering menu, though I think the cost started around $60 per person and went up from there
The rental included chair covers and two guest rooms for overnight stays, and the hall rental itself was roughly $33
Personally, I was pretty happy with how everything turned out; the only real downside was that it got incredibly hot inside, but that might have been because we were packed to the rafters with 400 people, so it was tough to keep things cool

As for the music, we had this saxophone band called VK play for us
When we were booking them, their price was 1250 euros without any extra accompaniment, but if you want the full setup, it'll be another 150 euros
They didn't play any old-school country hits—we actually cut out artists like Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson—and honestly, the guys did such an incredible job that it felt more like being at a live concert

Our photographer was Ivan Mijic, who is originally from Pittsburgh but is studying in New York, so if you're in that area, you should definitely try to connect with him
We haven't actually received the photos or the video yet, so I won't go into too much detail, but he definitely has a very modern style
His total fee for both photo and video was $2867, though keep in mind that thank-you gifts are extra

The floral arrangements were done by an exclusive wedding decorator from El Paso, and the girls did a decent enough job, I guess
I wasn't exactly blown away by my bouquet, and to make matters worse, when it came time to settle the bill, they charged me $143 in travel expenses that nobody had even mentioned during the initial pricing discussion. It probably happened because I used a gift voucher they gave me worth $167, so they likely used that as an excuse to charge me. Plus, I actually had to drive to a restaurant about 12 miles away from my house just to pick up the bouquet because they couldn't figure out how to get off the highway when they were supposed to deliver it

The desserts and the cake were from Babina Greda, and I have nothing but praise for them

My hair was done by a stylist from the Midwest, and for makeup, I ended up going to Sujeda because that famous Victoria person didn't respond or show up on the wedding day

So, that's all I have to share! If I can help with anything else, please just send me a private message

I actually tried those cookies myself, and honestly, they were just phenomenal—at least in my opinion—because everything was gone in no time!
