Could the moderator in charge of the Mother-in-Law thread over at the IRS explain why my posts keep getting deleted—even when I haven't broken any rules? I honestly don't get what criteria they're using to wipe them out.
Earlier this afternoon, I posted something about lunch at my mother-in-law's—it was pretty polite and lighthearted, so I'm a bit baffled that it was just removed without any explanation or warning.
Sorry, I didn't even notice you guys had messaged me—apologies for the delay 😘
I was at my appointment until about 7:00 and just walked through the door. First off, I have to give a shout-out to Dr. Chikara—he’s phenomenal. He’s incredibly easy to talk to, and we covered everything; I asked him every single thing on my mind, so it actually turned out to be a pretty decent experience.
So, regarding my kidneys—they are honestly massive 😁. You could say I've got actual chunks of kidney in there. Apparently, each one has two renal arteries (from what I gather, they usually only have one), and they're somewhat split—so when I twist (my waist, I mean), they twist too. That might suggest they're connected, but since the baby has made her own space in my abdomen and pushed my intestines up toward my diaphragm, that connection isn't visible. No signs of stones, though. The doctor says my kidneys are certainly unique, but since the function is good and pregnancy prevents any other deep testing, he suggested we touch base again in a year. So, yeah... here I am, the woman with the powerhouse kidneys. 🤣 The baby might eventually press against the ducts and cause some trouble, but if that happens, I can come back in for another checkup—though even then, they won't be able to do much since that's usually only resolved by delivery. After everything, it looks like it's just a congenital anomaly. Since it isn't causing any issues right now, we'll figure out further scans or any potential "radiation" next year.
I guess I really am a freak of nature. 😁
Thanks for the support, ladies; it really meant a lot that you reached out because I was honestly pretty terrified. 🙂
A few months back, I had a similar run-in—a dog bit me right through my clothes, and honestly, I have no clue if it was vaccinated or not. It was just one of those freak accidents where it tried to go for my dog, and I (being the 🙄 genius I am) stepped in with my knee to block it and ended up taking the hit myself. I just washed the scratch with soap and water and slapped some iodine on it. That’s basically what they’d tell you to do at a Community Health Center, too—they usually just suggest getting a tetanus shot if you haven't had one in the last five years. I hadn't, but I didn't bother getting a booster since I'm pregnant, and everything turned out fine, I guess. Anyway, why don't you just call an animal rescue group to come pick the dog up? The folks over at the ASPCA are great and would probably take him in. It’s better if he's actually looked after.
My blood pressure has always been low—usually sitting around 100/60 or maybe 90/60 depending on the weather—and I don't deal with any swelling in my legs or protein in my urine. Honestly, I'm just completely thrown by all this. How are you all managing with your diagnoses? Do you follow specific diets or treatments? Any symptoms at all?
I went for a urine culture after this, and everything came back sterile.
I’ll give my gynecologist a call Monday morning to get her take on things. I have a color Doppler scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, too. I might ask about doing a 24-hour urine collection—can't hurt, I guess. The more I read up on this, the more anxious I get. This Polycystic Kidney Disease stuff... it's probably not nothing.
She sent me over to the Bates Clinic to see either Dr. Chikara or Dr. Brkljacić for a color Doppler—she claims they’re the top experts. From what I can gather, she’s mostly checking to see if I have a horseshoe kidney. Maybe I'm just overthinking things, but that's the vibe I got. They'll decide later if I actually need to be referred to a Urologist. I'll let you know once I hear back from them. Thanks so much for listening and for all the advice. 🙂
I'm not panicking—I have a feeling I'm perfectly healthy, anyway, who knows? 🙂
I had my urine tested and did a culture—it came back sterile. So, I guess I don't really get why she made such a huge deal out of it. 🤷 As for the cervical swab, the doctor concluded I have ureaplasma, so she prescribed antibiotics for both me and my partner. I finished a 10-day course of erythromycin along with Clindamycin cream.
I'm peeing regularly—a bit more often than usual since the placenta is low—but other than that, I honestly don't have any issues at all. 🤷
Had my checkup today and the doctor noted that my left kidney looks larger—specifically the lower pole seems bulky and shifted medially, almost like it's merging with the central echo complex. The right one looks totally fine, though; normal size, shape, and structure, with everything looking standard around the central complex. She mentioned the possibility of a horseshoe kidney, but since I’m pregnant, she didn't want to press on my abdomen to check for a connection. Plus, my scan from two years ago didn't mention anything like this—it just said both kidneys were normal in size and structure. Functionality is fine, though. Honestly, the doctor seemed genuinely worried about me today, which actually scared me more than the kidney itself—especially since I'm not feeling any pain or discomfort. I'm five months pregnant, so I'm wondering what this could mean and if there are any risks for the baby? Could it just be swelling due to the pregnancy, or maybe related to those antibiotics I took two weeks ago for ureaplasma? I'm pretty confused, so if anyone knows what this might imply, please let me know. I have a renal color Doppler scheduled for next week, and then I guess we'll see where they send me from there.
You hit the nail on the head. I had that same sinking feeling in my gut while reading her little rants. Once I decided to just tune it all out—it didn't really matter anymore, I guess. It’s still pretty sad, though—seeing someone carry that much bitterness and constantly hunt for attention by spewing venom.
hiddenhound3 said:I would certainly be happy to do the same, but since I serve as a moderator, I am unable to 😢 Furthermore, she continues to engage in behavior that is utterly irrational; she projects her own animosity or intolerance onto me, claiming that I am the one who cannot stand her, which is a completely distorted perception.
Honestly, I avoid them as much as humanly possible.
That is perfectly reasonable; one has their own interests and gravitates toward the specific topics and subforums they care about, whereas this bizarre fixation on a single individual feels like a parasitic tick.😳 I will admit that I do check profiles occasionally, though I only look at those I find interesting or whose contributions I genuinely enjoy reading.🙂 My motivation for interacting is never to provoke a confrontation, but rather to facilitate a pleasant exchange of ideas.
I'm dealing with something pretty similar with one woman on this forum. And the best part? She refuses to respect my requests to just skip over my posts—she ignores me entirely. She claims she keeps track of my edited posts, and even the ones I've deleted. Honestly, I only deleted one where I called her out (and I did it immediately), mostly because I didn't want her breathing down my neck anymore. But apparently, she spends all day lurking on the site, watching my every move. 🤷For now, ignoring her is working, though sometimes I feel like just laying it all out for her. Then again, I realize her bitterness would probably just bounce back onto me—and I really don't need that kind of drama in my life right now.
Jacob Long said:What I really want to know is if there’s any way to stop banks from digging through everything—like, can we skip the whole process of showing them the entire ownership chain all the way down to the actual humans at the top?
I haven't actually sat down to read the Bank Secrecy Act myself, but the bank keeps waving it in my face to demand all this info.
The parent company is owned by another firm, which is owned by someone else, and so on... it's a massive conglomerate, so things get messy fast.
Is this kind of thing standard practice across the European Union too?
Under that act, the bank isn't allowed to process any payments for a client until they have the ultimate beneficial owner data.
