Kate Taylor59 said:I'm sick right now and couldn't sleep a wink all night because of my nose... (one nostril being totally blocked)... it was driving me so crazy that I kept using nasal drops over and over... I'm just wondering how I'll manage after the surgery... am I really such a 🙄

Ugh, tell me about it. A few days ago, I was waking up multiple times a night—and I mean totally unable to swallow because my mouth was so bone-dry—just to get some water, clear my nose with drops, this, that... plus I had a fever and a cold on top of it. I did it constantly because honestly, the relief afterward was priceless. 🤣
rustygardener172 said:I was thinking about the width of the nose—you know, from swollen bones... the shape of the tip... basically the overall look from the front. You really have to wait at least 6 months for that. And once those 6 months pass, nobody even goes back to see the surgeon unless they aren't happy with the 😁 results... so there won't be any photos to show...

Yeah, true. It doesn't make much sense looking at photos because—well, at least for me—they only took shots before and after the surgery, and now the whole nose just looks different. As for the width, it’s actually the same as before; just right, though in photos it somehow looks too long. He told me maybe it needs to drop 1-2 mm at the bridge and narrow slightly at the tip. He was actually surprised how quickly everything settled and flattened out, especially since my skin is so pale and thin—he thought it would be way worse...😁
rustygardener172 said:That was my experience too.
Maybe it’s because it takes forever for the nose to actually settle into its final shape when you're looking at it head-on—but from the profile view, you can pretty much see the result almost immediately...😁

Not really—mine actually looked super upturned from the side at first, but now it's dropped quite a bit. It's a completely different nose now.
rustygardener172 said:I’ve always had a thing for those straight, pointed noses. Personally, I’m stuck with this little button nose of mine... 😁 Not everyone can handle what they actually like... 😁

Flat and pointy? Are those the ones Miller called "modern" back in the day—the ones that supposedly make a woman's face look masculine?🤣 I don't really care what kind they are—as long as they aren't too small, too tight, or just plain mushy and overdone... 😂 And of course, I'm not into hunched backs—unless we're talking about guys... 😬
Megan Moore76 said:Is this what you call a straight nose? She had surgery because hers was way too wide before...

Angelina's profile is actually super sharp—when you guys were talking about "straight" noses, I thought you meant the side view, not looking at her from the front...
Honestly, only rustygardener172 made one that was actually spicy—but then again, her stuff has always been like that. Most of the ones I’ve seen weren't even close. 🤷
Kate Taylor59 said:As for how he actually looks... I doubt Glušac would ever bother emailing me photos of his "work"... there aren't any straight-on shots on his website, just profile views... and honestly, I couldn't care less about a profile view...

If you actually go in for a consultation, he'll just show you everything on his computer screen right then and there.
Good luck to everyone heading out there. 👍
Kate Taylor59 said:Sorry, I didn't realize you went to see Dr. Glusac... honestly, now I'm a little spooked...🙄

Pro tip: just shove his hand along to speed things up... 🤣 Honestly, it’s really quick—you just gotta grit your teeth and power through it. That’s the only part that actually hurts... I mean, it’s a nasty sensation, sure, but there's really nothing to be afraid of...
Kate Taylor59 said:So, how does Glusac pull out the tampons? Any thoughts?

I already explained it above. 🤷 Honestly, regardless of how the surgeon handles it, you're going to feel it. Or maybe you won't...
Carol Diaz31 said:He just grabbed it with the tweezers and pulled it out all at once—it was done in like a second. It wasn't exactly painful... but yeah, definitely a weird sensation 😳

Must be nice. I was actually in shock. And mind you, I usually have a pretty high pain tolerance...
Kate Taylor59 said:Ugh... :// honestly, isn't that actually pretty bad?

To be real—personally, I think it is. It only lasts a few seconds, but I basically shoved my hand toward him to speed things up. 👍 🤣 It’s not even about how much it hurts, it’s the *type* of pain—it was revolting. My ears started aching and it felt like someone was pulling a hot, long, slimy worm right out of my brain... he actually had to pause for a second so I could catch my breath before he pulled the other one out. Later on, I wouldn't even let him clean my nose because I kept having flashbacks to pulling out tampons, so I'd just instinctively flinch every single time. 😵

Mind you, I see some people here didn't feel a thing at all, so don't go getting offended by my dark sense of humor. 😁
Kate Taylor59 said:Just how deep do those tampons go? Like, all the way up to your sinuses?

Yeah—and when you finally pull them out, it honestly feels like they were lodged in your brain...😱
Nancy Perez74 said:So now you just don't care?! hahaha, I remember when we were messaging and you said—if this doesn't work out, you're ready to just end it all LOL?!

Thanks for taking something I told you in private and dragging it out here on the public Forum. 🙄 That was way before my surgery, back when I was absolutely terrified about everything.

I’m not going to kill myself. I "don't care" because I have zero intention of going in for another (or the 4858345683486th) procedure. It is what it is...
Nancy Perez74 said:Same deal as last time when I sent you those photos.
In short—it sucks.

Dammit. 😢 If it makes you feel any better, I'm not exactly thrilled either—but honestly, I've gotten so used to it that I don't even care anymore...
Nancy Perez74 said:...

Hey, where'd you disappear to? How's that nose looking now?🙂
Kate Taylor59 said:I read in an interview with Dr. Glusac that he inserts tubes through the tampon so you can breathe... did he do that to you guys too?
And regarding that part about waiting two years before you can breathe again—is it really that long?

Uhm, no.🤷 I didn't see any tubes, and honestly, I couldn't breathe at all until he finally took the tampons out—though I was dealing with a nasty cold anyway. From what I can tell, everyone else seems to need a few days or more since the nose clears up gradually...
silentrider31 said:Hey everyone!

So, I had surgery last night with Dr. Glusac—honestly, all I can say is great things about him and his whole crew... definitely recommend him if anyone’s looking... obviously, I can't say I'm 100% satisfied yet since I haven't seen the final results, but even now, things look way better than before... I've had a few health procedures on my nose, and previous doctors never really finished the job properly. From what I can tell, this guy actually knows his stuff... he told me it was tougher than he initially thought because the bone from my previous surgeries had hardened up, which made the procedure run pretty long, but he's happy with how it turned out... I stayed at the Marriott since I was too wiped out to drive back to Los Angeles—the hotel was great, and his patients get a discount, just like everyone else on this forum mentioned... He actually came to pick me up in the morning, spent some extra time helping me get the packing out and just chatting about everything... It's true what people say, he's incredibly professional, maybe even a little arrogant, but I honestly think he has reasons to be... then again, he's a genuinely nice, likable guy and doesn't look down on you the way a lot of doctors do... my parents were thrilled with him...

Anyway, hope I didn't ramble too much and that this helps someone make a decision,
take it easy!

p.s. I think he might have a weird thing for sunglasses... he mentioned several times that you can wear them after a day or two, even though everyone else says that's nonsense... he even told me, "Go out tomorrow night, put your shades on, grab a drink if you want, you'll be fine"... Now I'm just picturing myself walking down the boardwalk at midnight with bandages and sunglasses on... I'm sure people would give me a wide berth during coffee the next morning 🙂

🤣 hihihi. Looks like we had similar experiences. As for you walking the boardwalk in bandages and shades, I just pictured this http://library.thinkquest.org/06aug/...Man%20mage.jpg 😂
Sophia Hill22 said:more fairy tales... 🙄

They aren't. My surgeon was dead serious—no tanning beds, no sports, no working out, nothing strenuous, and stay away from the sun. He literally told me to turn my face away from the sunlight for a few days right after the procedure. 😁

I can't even lie and say I was being that careful—honestly, I haven't been paying much attention at all (well, except for the sun part)... 🤷
wiredmaker24 said:That profile looks just like Liv Tyler... 🙂

👍 Her profile is gorgeous, really—but looking at her from the front? I don't know... It just feels too thin for such a large face...

Just chill out for a second and try to focus on something else—just forget about the nose for a couple of weeks. Once you do that, you'll finally see a massive difference... 😉
