I don’t get how they can’t find any support staff when there are so many people sitting around at the unemployment office. You can't expect me to track down every single contact of an infected person, draft all the paperwork, and manually log everything into the system. If they keep going this way, we're looking at a total meltdown.
Haha...as if I’m actually going to sit there listing contacts and notifying them. Not a chance. It's absolute insanity... What’s even the point of testing if nobody is tracking the contacts?
Lawrence Reed3 said:Self-isolation is actually pretty bad for your health—at least, that's what this kinesiology professor is saying! I mean, it just makes sense, right? Being stuck inside for 14 days straight without any way to get out can't possibly be good for you...
"During isolation periods, people tend to move much less while eating significantly more calories," the professor points out. "Did you know that in just 14 days, your oxygen levels can drop by seven percent? Your strength and muscle mass could dip by five to ten percent. That’s only in two weeks! Plus, the fat buildup around your organs is going to spike quite a bit. People aren't being properly warned about this before they go into isolation, so there will definitely be health consequences"—though he adds that we won't really know the full extent until later.
Personally, I'm one of those people who works out pretty regularly—I usually go for a run about 6 or 7 days a week 6.2 miles—so there is absolutely no way I'm staying cooped up at home for 14 days without being able to at least get a workout in... so, I don't think I'll be agreeing to any kind of isolation or anything like that... for some very obvious, common-sense reasons.
You're acting all rebellious, "oh this, oh that"... yet you still put on the mask at work. I bet if they ordered you into self-isolation, you'd follow suit too, or maybe you'll just happily pay $8,000, $16,000... keep the list going. You're acting like a total kid... basically Charlie Brown.
I stay active too—swimming, cycling—but when life hands you something you have to deal with, you deal with it. I don't play hero for nothing when I know I can't walk away with a win. Besides, you can always work out at home.
Brandon Torres3 said:Alright, I get what you're saying.
But here's the kicker—that "contact" is actually my sister, and we live under the same roof, so things get a little complicated.
It’s not like this was some random coworker or a buddy I can just avoid for a few days; it’s someone I share a home with.
🤔
Based on what I've seen, she basically needs to quarantine from everyone else, stay in her own room, and use a separate bathroom if there's even a chance. Avoid all contact with the rest of the house, go overboard on hygiene, wear a mask. It's honestly pretty rough and exhausting, especially if she thinks she wasn't even in close enough contact to catch anything.
Exactly... just like the user above said... if you start deleting any opinion that doesn't fit, we've got a problem. That's what this whole debate is about.

Everyone wants to read a post that is either comforting or well-reasoned. And that has absolutely nothing to do with creating a false sense of security.
That’s just how it is. There’s massive responsibility behind every single post, especially since everyone—including us—loves reading stuff that makes them feel better... But all you're doing is coddling them into a false sense of security. It makes all the expert advice regarding precautions totally useless when everyone on this forum just dismisses everything as stupid or "unnecessary panic mongering."
mellowstag15 said:The fact that he lacks expertise isn't some minor detail you can just overlook; this subject is far too complex and heavy for someone without actual knowledge to be moderating, deleting posts, and handing out bans. It’s honestly—even more concerning than I initially thought...
I'm with you on this. It’s honestly terrifying how everyone underestimates the situation and peddles this fake sense of security, while others just spread panic and troll for the hell of it. I really wonder where people get the audacity to push such nonsense when we're talking about something this serious. lonebadger6 isn't an expert, so I guess he has a tiny bit of leeway... but you can't really blame a doctor for being out of line.
mellowstag15 said:I've been lurking on this forum for a very long time, and while I write less frequently, I have to say that I have never witnessed such a style of moderation 🤦
If this is happening because the owners of this site ordered it, then it’s a massive disgrace to an otherwise reputable platform, and it might even carry legal implications. However, if a moderator is just unilaterally hijacking the thread like this, then it’s high time the owner stepped in and dealt with them.
The issue here is that the moderator is clearly a complete amateur when it comes to medicine, going so far as to call the warnings from the World Health Organization "horribly stupid." He's being enabled by some doctor on this forum who condescendingly tosses out "absolute truths" and advice without any actual scientific basis—advice that could easily backfire on people later on.
It’s interesting how reality and the way things are actually unfolding continue to debunk both the moderator and this doctor-forum-user, day after day. Over the next few weeks, this is going to be the hottest topic across all the major news outlets and message boards. I highly doubt it serves the interests of the site owner to have a moderator calling the highest health authorities "stupid" while simultaneously banning and deleting posts from people who are simply following the WHO's guidelines. It's deeply concerning...
I honestly don't get how anyone can complain about new arenas being built. It was just great sitting in those creaky wooden chairs, especially when you've got some giant sitting right in front of you blocking the entire screen... truly a nostalgic blast if you enjoy losing your mind... They probably don't even remember all the people scalping tickets back in the day either.

Same here... I’m telling you, next time I’m just gonna wait for the movie to hit streaming. I’m a regular at the local AMC Theatres, honestly. There’s just nothing that compares to the actual experience of being in a theater and being able to fully lock in on the movie—home setups just don't hit the same. I haven't really had any issues with the crowd so far, mostly because I make sure to hit the screenings during the more serious showtimes.
I’m really not buying all this hype about how naive and kind-hearted people from the Kingdom of Sweden are. History shows they can be pretty bloodthirsty when they want to be. The way things are playing out today... if you ask me... it feels more like a sense of racial superiority—this idea that they're somehow more advanced or better than everyone else, so they can just do whatever they want... including forcing integration where it clearly won't work.
Once they stop being so coddled by their own sense of moral superiority and social sensitivity... the reality check is going to hit them hard.
Watching this with a group at the theater... they totally missed the mark on the little kids. This movie is really for the people who saw the first one back when it just hit theaters.
Even though I think the first one had a more refined sense of humor and the voice acting was generally better... Honestly, it’s a letdown... though I will say the sequel is actually great.
I actually liked the movie (caught it in theaters a few days ago). I feel like you need at least some basic historical context about that era to really get the irony and the dark humor the whole thing is built on.
Definitely worth a watch.
Zhukov is easy on the eyes, I won't lie—reminded me why he looked familiar... Captain Lorca from Discovery.
At my kid's school, over 90% of the classes take religion, but for electives like Spanish, French, or Microsoft, you don't even get half the kids showing up...
They end up grouping different grades together, which means those combined classes don't even hit a full roster. So yeah, it’s totally expected that their scheduling looks like a mess because trying to cram a subject for multiple grade levels into a standard period... right in the middle of the regular school day... is basically impossible.
Then you've got the afternoon shift to deal with, whether it's an extra period or the very last slot of the day. Every single year, it's the same headache trying to figure out a schedule that actually works for everyone involved.
I don't really know where to start with this one—it’s kind of a mess in my head—but I just felt like I had to get it out there. It’s funny how some things just hit you out of nowhere, right? Like, you’re just going about your day, maybe grabbing a coffee at Starbucks or something, and suddenly you're thinking about these deep, complicated stuff that you probably shouldn't be worrying about at 10:00 AM. Anyway... it's all just a bit much sometimes. Just a bit much. kaže: I guess I should probably start by saying... well, I don't really know where to begin, honestly—it’s one of those things that feels a bit overwhelming when you actually sit down to type it out—but I figured I’d just jump in and try to share what's on my mind. It’s kind of funny, actually, how these things work—how you just sort of find yourself staring at a blinking cursor for ten minutes before realizing you have something to say—anyway, here goes nothing. I mean, honestly... isn't this just a massive overreaction? It feels like everyone is just totally blowing things way out of proportion—it’s actually kind of wild if you think about it. I mean, honestly—stuff like that probably only happens during the Dark Ages... or maybe just when everyone’s gone back to believing in alchemy and magic instead of actual science.🙄 That’s exactly why it matters so much—you really need to know the specifics. Like, how many kids from class A, B, or C are actually heading off to religion class at any given moment? And you have to account for where everyone is—like if the librarian is tied up, or what the teacher is actually working on right then. It gets so messy. Plus, there's the whole issue of why certain kids aren't getting extra help or tutoring sessions—or why some *are* getting them at that exact time, which honestly feels like it’s just picking favorites and leaving the rest of the class in the dust. It’s all about those little details that make everything feel unfair.🤦 Hey, everyone—just take a breath and relax for a second. Seriously.☕
I mean, honestly—aside from when they’re off at religious studies or whatever—there aren't many times where you see little kids just wandering the hallways for forty-five minutes straight without a single adult keeping an eye on them. It’s one of those things that really sticks in my mind... just sitting there in the hall, totally unsupervised.
....didn't realize school was such a death trap. Whoever survives the first four years will let us know.
They coddle their own kids like they’re precious little teddy bears, then have the nerve to sit there acting all high and mighty about how they’d solve America's problems using someone else's children... meanwhile, looking at the enrollment numbers here, you can see they wouldn't even dare give their own kid a dirty look.
rowdypanther12 said:My main point is just that I’m frustrated with people who refuse to step up and take a stand. It bothers me when people won't shake things up or teach their kids to hold their heads high instead of just blending into the background. I really can't stand how some people lack any backbone, and then they turn around and pass that same passivity down to their children.
You can talk all the crap you want. It's easy to beat someone else's ...eggs when you're sitting comfortably at home running internet revolutions.
There's no way you'd actually put your own kid through the stress of a police interrogation or live with the guilt over some wrongly spoken word. Life has taught me that the ones making the most noise usually have the least to show for it.
If my kid was stuck in a class like that... man... I'd lose it. The principal, all the teachers, the parents, even the cops. There is zero chance I’m letting my child get dragged into this mess just to be put on display.
It's just wrong for kids... seriously...
Idiots are everywhere, whether you're talking about general school life or just some religious ed class... honestly, I can't wrap my head around why people are actually siding with the kid who was filming everything. If I were the teacher, having "Big Brother" watching my every move wouldn't sit well with me either.
