Everything is being monitored by my gynecologist and all that, . Basically, I’ve noticed I’m becoming incredibly sensitive, prone to crying, and just plain hysterical. For instance, I got into an argument with my boyfriend; normally, I wouldn't give it a second thought because it wasn't anything major, but instead, I spent the entire day overanalyzing everything, teetering on the edge of tears and feeling completely anxious. I know I acted this way when I was on them last time, though back then I just blamed it on having a bad relationship; now I realize it’s more or less due to the pills. And I honestly don't know what to do. I need birth control because without it, my periods are irregular or non-existent, and I can't stand using condoms. On the other hand, if I stay on these pills, I feel like I’m going to alienate everyone in my life and lose my mind in the process. Is there some sort of adjustment period where things settle down, or should I look into other options like the ring, a patch, or something similar? Before switching to Yaz, I was taking Yasmin, but I was in an even worse headspace then, so I felt like I was making progress on Yaz—but now, I just feel.. 😢.
I've been taking Cilest for years. At first, the first few months were terrible, but then I adjusted and things were mostly fine... I didn't gain weight (even though I quit smoking), and my mood and libido were okay.
But now, it feels like I just started all over again. I'm losing my mind—irritable, needy, and constantly craving snacks. :S I've gained a ton of cellulite even though the scale hasn't moved. :S
I don't know whether I should switch pills or just wait it out or what.🤷
A few years ago, in a different relationship, I tried Logest and Triquilar, and they weren't any better; actually, they were just awful.
I'm not entirely sure if this has been discussed before, but I haven't bothered searching through the entire Reddit
Does anyone know how to get rid of these Google ads popping up between posts?
(I logged into a fresh Facebook account today and now it’s just pure chaos.)
When I try to click on one of them, I get this message:

It’s happened to me quite often where I've skipped a dose, and I would never double up because I feel like that's just too much hormone to hit your system all at once; besides, if you already missed a pill, taking that "extra" one later won't actually compensate for what you missed yesterday or a few days ago..
Just letting everyone know how it turned out in the end
Anyway, I ended up taking it since I saw the message later. I shouldn't have, really. I was just about to start a new pack, and honestly, the pain wasn't that bad. Besides, I was happy to finally get my period, so I didn't care much.😁
Everything came normally, just a day late. Not sure if the extra pill caused the delay or not.
I'm sticking to the schedule on the pack now so this doesn't happen again.
And to answer that question above—since I started being on the pill, I haven't used condoms for about a year.🙂
So, here’s the situation Up until now, nothing has happened, even though I’ve been on these pills for quite a while. I actually have one extra pack left over—meaning I either missed a day or just started my next cycle a day later than planned. I haven't exactly been following the schedule strictly; I’ve been taking them somewhat irregularly rather than following the daily sequence. I set alarms on my phone and everything, but somehow, I completely missed one day without realizing it. Well, it is what it is. I’m just hoping I didn't miss a day during that critical first week. :S Anyway, I’m supposed to finish the last one this Saturday. Since I have that extra pack lying around, should I take it now or just leave it? :S
Question, though I’m starting to feel like hope might be a lost cause. :S
I've been on Logest for five months now. Before this, I was on Cilest or Yasmin, and it was always the same story—except these ones felt even worse. The headaches... the insane irritability... the total drop in libido...
Anyway, the Logest seems to suit me slightly better than the previous ones. I still had those moody phases and bouts of crying, though they weren't constant, but it’s definitely more manageable after three months of adjusting.
But here's what I've actually noticed: CELLULITE. :S:S I’m working out a bit more than I used to, trying to watch my diet and avoiding eating too late at night, but it just keeps getting worse.
The scale hasn't moved much, maybe up an extra pound or two—though I did quit smoking about three months ago.
So, here is my question... Does anyone know if cellulite caused by birth control ever actually goes away? If I keep exercising and staying disciplined with my food, will it fade? Or will it at least become less noticeable? It feels like it's becoming more visible to me 😢 and now, if I don't press on it, I can see it right under my glutes.😢
I’ve grown accustomed to being perpetually freezing. I find myself sleeping under heavy duvets and thick blankets, even wearing two layers of shirts, pants, and socks. And winter hasn't even arrived yet. 🙄 My lips turn blue quite regularly.
My thyroid seems fine, but my blood pressure is low.
Exactly the same situation; my blood pressure is perfectly normal.
I recently had extensive hormone testing because of birth control, and everything came back clear.
Even during the summer, I spend most of my time tucked under a comforter. 😁 I actually thrive when it hits 86 degrees.
Anything below 77 feels uncomfortable. 😢
I quit smoking, but nothing changed.
I suspect it's just how I am wired.
Cardio helps warm me up, but the effect is fleeting.
Starting a quest for some relief today since my period just arrived. Does anyone have any intel? I'm looking for a pharmacy in the Chicago area where prices are actually reasonable. If anyone knows, let me know.

Fine. When I go in to drop off my hormone results, I’ll explicitly ask for an ultrasound... I'm already thinking about bringing my mom along for support :S
It sounds irrational, but I'm 25 and have never actually had an ultrasound done. This is my second OBGYN since I turned 18.🤷 And I don't live in some tiny rural town, though I suppose that isn't really a metric for anything.😁
Quick question, maybe a bit silly, but I’m no expert on this stuff so 🙂
I've been feeling this dull, nagging ache down low—can't even pinpoint the exact spot. On top of that, my period was late last month and again this month, so I headed to the clinic to get an ultrasound and some hormone levels checked. (I had a PAP test done recently, but she just glanced at the four targeted swabs and left it at that)
Anyway, she didn't do the ultrasound; it felt like she just brushed me off when I asked... though she did give me the referral for the hormone blood work
What I'm wondering is, if there's something going on with my ovaries, like cysts or whatever, can that show up in the hormone results, or is an ultrasound the only way to see it?
I honestly don't get why she's being so difficult about it... it really should have been done alongside the PAP, but here we are :S
I have a feeling it wasn't actually a bladder infection. I took that pill and everything seemed fine for a moment, but then it came right back. Though, to be fair, it doesn't sting when I go, and I'm not running to the bathroom every five minutes anymore. I told myself I’d just head down to the Mayo Clinic and see what they say.
I just hope they don't misdiagnose me again. If they do, will they just stop treating me altogether?😁
Brenda Cooper3 said:I get this pain in my right ovary sometimes—or at least, I think it’s the ovary, though it could be my kidney. 🤷 It’s hard to pinpoint the exact location. Generally, there's just this dull ache down there. I'm aware it could be a cyst, a bacterial issue, inflammation, or even what I read about an ovary "sticking" to the uterus... and all that other nonsense. But honestly, the thought of seeing a gynecologist makes me physically ill. If I end up pregnant, I suppose I won't have much of a choice, but otherwise, I'd rather avoid it. I don't think that's why my period was late, since this particular spot has been acting up randomly for two or three years now. It comes and goes.
Anyway, your response helped calm me down a bit, rowdyhawk27 👍. It is truly remarkable how our own bodies can play these games with us...
I had those same sharp pains. I went to see my primary care doctor and she thought it was a bladder infection, which is exactly what I dealt with a month ago, and now here we are again. And when they prescribed antibiotics, I took them for the "bladder" issue, and everything seemed fine for a while. But now it's back. It's a stinging sensation. Nothing life-threatening, but definitely there. And it's a bit to the left too... I can't tell if it's the ovary or the kidney. Just a general ache low in the center.🤷
Long story short, I'm heading back to the OBGYN. When I mentioned my missed period last month, I went to see her immediately, and she didn't really say anything to me about it. :S
She did the exam and felt everything around, saying everything looked perfectly normal. :S Right.
@Brenda Cooper3/">@@Brenda Cooper3 My cycle is actually quite regular. Back in January, I was ten days late this year, and I was absolutely terrified I might be pregnant... the symptoms were identical to yours... constant trips to the bathroom, unusual discharge, heavy PMS, feeling incredibly bloated—honestly, it felt like I was about to go into labor. I took a pregnancy test, and it came back negative. As soon as I saw that result, I just broke down and cried. Now, this month, I'm facing another ten-day delay. During those ten days, I kept getting those intense pains you usually feel right before your period starts... it’s just miserable.
Once my period finally arrives, I'm heading straight to my OBGYN to get my hormone levels checked and schedule an ultrasound (I had my Pap smear and a routine exam last month, and everything seemed fine), just to make sure everything is okay with my ovaries and hormones.
