It’s the same dilemma I have with every other thread, but I’m specifically asking about Osijek... does anyone know of a shopping area or plaza with a good selection geared toward younger crowds? We’re heading out to Savannah this weekend and my sister needs some new clothes. She’s a size XXL, roughly a size 12 in US terms. I’d rather not spend the whole trip wandering aimlessly around town like crazy people, so please, do tell.🙂 Thanks.
Eric White10 said:Honestly, you really only have two paths worth taking here:
1. Get out there and find a job.
2. Or just stay put and finish your studies right here.
The sooner you wrap your head around that, the better off you'll be in the long run.
Exactly.
Can I just start now? I mean, I could have gone to Harvard or worked at NASA, but instead, I’m stuck here. Honestly, I feel miserable. I'm just sitting around, not working, not studying—it's exhausting.
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be mean, but that's honestly how you're coming across.
You don't have mental health issues; you're just lazy and ungrateful. Find a decent job, save some money, and move out to study elsewhere. Or try to snag a scholarship for an out-of-state school, or maybe someone could help get you a job abroad so you can enroll in college there.
It’s easy to sit around dreaming and typing about what you would or wouldn't do, but dragging your mother through this is low. All she wants is for you to either work, go to school, or move away.
Maybe you really do have problems, and maybe your mother truly is terrible, but neither of those things is going to fix the situation.

Honestly, I have no idea what you want me to say if you aren't looking for a compliment. 🤷🙂 I'm just reporting how it went. I'll be the first to admit I can be a bit clumsy and awkward sometimes 🤣 whereas you handled everything perfectly fine. 👍

I’m honestly sitting here just crying my eyes out and I can't seem to catch my breath... My heart is absolutely racing and I just feel so incredibly helpless right now. I don't even know if there's something wrong with me, like maybe it's my own self-esteem or something, but I'm spiraling. So, my boyfriend invited me to join Facebook, and even though I usually hate all that social media stuff, I kind of got sucked into it and ended up reconnecting with some old friends from high school. But then, while I was scrolling through his profile, I saw this poll he posted where people could vote on whether they'd go out with him or not... As I'm typing this, my heart is practically jumping out of my chest. I seriously cannot believe this! And the worst part? Two people actually voted yes. I’m assuming it was just his female friends voting, because you can't participate unless you're on his list and added as a friend.😢... I mean, like... wtf??? I have no idea if I should even bring this up to him, or ask him straight out if he did this specifically to make me jealous. Part of me wishes I had never even seen it, wished I hadn't joined Facebook at all, but now this whole thing is just haunting me... Like, someone should just adopt him as a pet or something... and honestly, I get this nagging feeling that he's just desperately fishing for attention from other girls on there... I don't even know what else to think about it all.
How much do you actually have? And how long have you even been using the internet?? ☕

I’m currently over at the local community health clinic, somewhere near the roundabout. A new aesthetic surgery clinic just opened up.
Give it a shot over there. Let me know if you stumble upon anything interesting. 🙂
Personally, I am all for letting my family step up. My family knows where I stand, and I know where they stand, so if the moment ever comes, they’ll be ready. Nowadays, everyone is willing to donate, except for those cardholders who refuse, though even then, people still ask their families. Honestly, there is no point in clinging to a body just for the sake of it; eventually, it all just ends up decaying in the ground anyway. :S If one of my organs could save someone's life, why wouldn't I?

I’m twenty-two years old, and looking back, I can recall these episodes occurring since I was just a child. It always follows the exact same trajectory; I recognize the onset instantly, knowing full well that I am about to embark on this experience again within the next few minutes. It typically strikes when I am exhausted—perhaps during a mid-afternoon nap or just as I’m drifting off to sleep. Suddenly, my perception of the objects surrounding me undergoes a radical shift. Objects seem to gain this immense mass, yet simultaneously, I harbor this bizarre impression that they have shrunk in scale and are hovering right within arm's reach; for instance, if I’m lying in bed, I get this overwhelming sense that I could simply reach out and grab the doorknob across the room.
Inside my mind, things become even more surreal. These aren't hallucinations in the traditional sense, but rather an intense internal sensation—a constant, paradoxical tug-of-war between thoughts of something being gargantuan and something being microscopic. There is this quiet voice that manages to be piercingly loud at the same time, almost as if it’s shouting at me, all underscored by a mounting sense of dread. Then, I experience this sensation of hurtling through something perfectly smooth and level, only to plunge headlong into a chaotic nightmare of jagged edges and sharp protrusions, moving through it all at breakneck speed. None of this manifests physically; it is purely a phenomenon existing within my consciousness. The moment I attempt to focus on one specific sensation, it slips from my grasp, only to reappear in some other part of my periphery that I wasn't attending to. I am perpetually submerged in this medium, unable to truly grasp its nature. It feels as though I am constantly on the precipice of understanding exactly what is happening, but the truth always eludes me by a hair's breadth.
The entire episode lasts about five minutes before vanishing entirely without any lingering physical aftereffects. What infuriates me most is this absolute inability to comprehend the mechanics of it. Once the event concludes, the memory begins to fade immediately, making it incredibly difficult to describe the sheer intensity of those few minutes. It is as if my brain switched into an entirely different operating mode. This doesn't happen often—maybe just a couple of times a year.
In the past, I kept this to myself because the sheer strangeness of it was frightening, but I was stunned last year when, during a conversation with my college roommate, I realized he experiences the exact same thing. He tried to explain his version, but he too found himself stumbling for the right words. However, we are both certain that we are navigating the same type of "disorder"—this strange duality of something being tiny, quiet, and yet massive and deafening, combined with that feeling of passing through a specific medium. He described it somewhat like traveling through a tube that isn't hollow, but is instead completely solid.
I would be immensely grateful if anyone else who experiences such phenomena would share their accounts. Does anyone know what this might be? Is it a recognized condition? Is there any literature or research on this topic? Most importantly, is this something serious, and should I be seeking out a psychiatrist to discuss it?
It’s actually great that you’re graduating soon and can finally make your escape. Like I mentioned earlier, that’s probably your only real way out. Based on what you've described, it doesn't sound like your mother is mentally ill—as in needing a psychiatrist—she just sounds like an exhausting woman. I don't know how to put it, but I've dealt with plenty of people like that, and there isn't much anyone can do to help. People like that are either born that way or they become that way as they age.
My situation is a slightly milder version. Since I don't live under her roof, I can just listen without really processing anything; I'll even nod my head like I agree just to keep her satisfied.
My sister, on the other hand, is a completely different person. She ends up getting into heated arguments with her constantly.😁 Honestly, what can you do?
Honestly, David Palmer5, you’re probably right on the money here. But I can't help but think things might be smoother if his wife just got her act together. I'm just not sure if he's actually considering leaving, or if he simply doesn't have anywhere else to go.
I don't know. But rowdyhawk27, seeing you get pushed around like some teenager is tough to watch. You need to stand your ground and try to help her out if you're able.
Does she have a friend or maybe a sister who could gently point out that she’s dealing with some minor issues and stuff like that?
Besides, you aren't exactly a child anymore. She really needs to realize that on her own.
I know plenty of people in similar situations—exes, old friends, whoever. Everyone I know has dealt with that kind of nonsense. All they ever managed to do was endure it for a while before eventually moving away.
I realize there isn't a quick fix here... but I hope you find some way through it.

signature Maybe a lemon might do something about that heavy meal we just had, though I doubt it. But it certainly won't melt the fat off your stomach or hips without some exercise.
