Mosquito bites and stings in Health ·
Oh yeah, I actually rubbed some Synopen on those fresh bites to take the edge off the itching, which helps a bit, but man, those older ones from before totally wrecked me
Mosquito bites and stings in Health ·
I am seriously on the verge of losing my mind here—honestly, something has been getting under my skin for days now and I just couldn't catch the little beast, but then today, out of nowhere, it decided to go absolutely wild and bit me about ten different times all over my legs, though I did manage to squash four of those striped little monsters in the process. Now I’m just sitting here fuming because the regular mosquitoes haven't even looked my way in years, I can't even remember the last time one bothered me, but apparently, I'm basically a walking buffet for these specific ones. And of course, because I can't help myself, I’ve been scratching like a maniac until my legs are covered in sores, so now I'm just sitting here being incredibly annoyed, grrrrrrr...
Dealing with hemorrhoids in Health ·
So, here I am, clearing my throat for a second because I’ve got a bit of a situation on my hands, and honestly, it’s starting to bug me since it’s the second time in just the last month that I’ve noticed a few drops of blood on my underwear right around the rear area, clearly after passing some gas. 🙂 I’ve got maybe two hemorrhoids going on, but I usually don't give them a second thought because they don't actually cause me any pain or anything—except for this little mess right now.
Anyway, I wanted to pick the brains of the experts here—does anyone have a solid recommendation for a good cream or something similar that actually works?
Thanks!
Ugh, seriously, what on earth were you thinking when you bought that product? Just yuck.
I mean, maybe it’ll help with some clarity or give your digestion a little nudge, but honestly? I highly doubt it.

Jose Sanchez12 said:Seriously, how is Denmark even better? It’s not happening—if they didn't have a world-class goalie keeping them alive, they wouldn't have even made it to the finals in the first place.

Exactly, if it weren't for Casper, they wouldn't even be in the conversation.👍

So, they walked away with the gold... I mean, it’s obvious this squad is in way better physical shape, though I wouldn't go so far as to say they actually played better. Honestly, the whole thing felt kind of messy, but looking back at those few calls—those two goals that definitely should have counted—I truly believe we would've been tied up until the final buzzer, and it would've come down to whoever wanted it more in those last few seconds, whether it was the Americans or the team from Denmark. It doesn't even matter though, because it’s going to taste so much sweeter when we absolutely crush everyone right here on home soil!

So here’s my take on this whole food thing—I basically just eat whatever hits my plate first and go through it in order, like, I'll tackle the potatoes, then move on to the meat, grab some sauce... and then finally get to the salad or whatever side dishes happen to be there, no matter how much is on the table. I guess you could say I’m lucky enough that I don't get super nitpicky about keeping everything separate, like making sure one grain of rice doesn't touch anything else or anything like that.

Honestly, I feel like the real issue with being in the Democratic Party is just how much it actually bothers the individual, like how much it drags them out of their groove and how much mental energy and time it ends up draining... so personally, I’m not losing any sleep over it. ;-)

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing great!

Donna Sullivan7 said:Hey, regarding Felis 23... You mentioned you’re working in a lab with bacteria, so you have to wash your hands constantly, even though washing wouldn't really help against most of those microbes—or maybe you wouldn't even be here if they got to you. Are you honestly being able to admit to yourself that you actually need some help? You keep pushing it away, but sometimes the truth just hits the hardest...

Hey, don't sweat it, I totally handle my hygiene, I just wait until I'm done with my lab work at the university and get back home... trust me, there are way worse cases out there where people obsess over antibacterial gels and all that nonsense just because they're paranoid... I'm studying veterinary medicine so I'm constantly around all sorts of critters, and on top of the usual household germs, we run into all kinds of zoonotic stuff and who knows what else... so honestly, I'm much more worried about people being obsessed with sanitizing clothespins or getting grossed out by other people's lack of cleanliness than I am about simple hand washing.

And you definitely wash your hands after touching a dog or a cat, right?! Not to mention when you're dealing with cows and all that... you gotta wash up, man, you gotta wash up! ;-)
That feeling of falling in your sleep? in Psychology ·
Thomas Ward2 said:Ever get that weird sensation in a dream where you’re just... falling? Like the ground suddenly disappears from under you? And then—BAM—your whole body jerks so hard you snap wide awake. Did you actually feel like you were falling while it was happening?

If anyone knows what's actually going on with this phenomenon, I'd love an explanation!

Thanks

Oh yeah, this happens to me all the time, though I’ve never really looked into the science behind it or anything... but basically, I constantly dream about falling and then I jerk so hard that I wake up feeling totally startled...
plus, I honestly have a huge phobia of heights, like climbing anything at all—whether it's a ladder or the top of a skyscraper or something. 😕

Checking up on things?! Well, I mean, I always have to make sure my wallet is actually where I left it... which is exactly why I can't stand them... they’re just too bulky and awkward, and I’m constantly paranoid that I've misplaced it... but once I know my cash and ID are tucked safely in my pocket, I feel way more relaxed. Since I don't have a car yet, I find myself double-checking that my bike is properly locked up too...

Anyway, here is a little quirk of mine—I realized recently that whenever I set my alarm, the second and fourth digits have to be identical, and I've been doing this for like 5 or 6 years now... for example, setting it for 06:26 or 15:35... and that's just how I roll! ;-)

So, basically everyone is telling me to go with Opti-Free, right?
Dangerous contact lens solutions! in Health ·
Ugh, seriously... I am not feeling this one bit. Like, what kind of mess am I even looking at right now? I have been using their lenses and their solution for years and honestly, they’ve always been my absolute favorite, so the thought of just tossing a brand-new, unopened bottle... man, I just can't bring myself to do it. It feels such a massive waste to just dump it, but then I have to go out and hunt down a replacement, and ugh, what am I even supposed to grab instead?! This is such a total headache.

I don't even get why everyone is constantly hunting for "flaws"... I mean, sure, asymmetry totally bugs me when it comes to stuff like posters or wall art, but that's pretty much where my obsession ends.
I actually found out from a long-time friend recently that she used to think I actually disliked her or something, mostly because I’d head over to her place a million times and immediately start putting everything back exactly where it belonged... like, if I left a ring from a glass on the table, I’d wipe it away right away, just little things like that. At first, I just burst out laughing, but then it hit me that it's just how I am, because even today, whenever someone touches something of mine, I instinctively put it right back in its place...
Hey everyone!

Honestly, I’m convinced that scent is the absolute dealbreaker here!

And yeah, looking at the whole situation, it isn't even the hand washing part that gets under my skin... what actually rattles me is just pure disgust toward other people, you know? Like, seeing someone with unwashed hands, or dealing with sweat, or being all damp and gross... ugh... and if I catch even a tiny bit of grime under someone's fingernails... ugh... not to mention stray hairs or anything like that... ugh... all of that stuff just hits me instantly and makes me want to gag...

So yeah, that's really the only thing that truly bothers me.
OCD: General Discussion Thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
Yeah, I was actually scrolling back through some old posts from a while ago... look, I’ve got enough medical knowledge to know that bacteria are basically everywhere you turn, and honestly, being in my line of work means I’m exposed to way more microorganisms than the average person—especially the contagious kind—but obsessively washing my hands isn't even my main motivation here. It's really just that I genuinely love the feeling of them being clean and smelling fresh, because trust me, some scents just stay with you and really get under your skin.
OCD: General Discussion Thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
Hey hey everyone, just wanted to clear things up and reiterate—I ONLY scrub my hands with a brush OCCASIONALLY—and I mean occasionally! I guess it's because I'm stuck at this awful university where I end up seeing absolutely everything and touching all sorts of gross stuff constantly, so that's why...

But no, I don't think my level of OCD is actually a problem; sure, I have my little quirks, but I've got totally different sides to me too... and honestly... I feel like I'm actually plateauing, or even getting better... I'm doing certain things less often, and some things altogether... but yeah, the habits I do have are totally fine by me and they don't worry me since I feel like they stay within reasonable bounds... personally, I truly believe everyone has a little bit of OCD tucked away inside them somewhere. There,

That’s actually super interesting, thanks for all the input.

Regarding that whole spinal issue, I’ve definitely come across some info about that online too... I was wondering if you ever dealt with any actual injuries around your neck area, or maybe just bad posture or something else that might have caused those discs to start degenerating?

Back when I was a kid, I used to struggle with being a bit anemic, but I haven't really dealt with that in recent years, and I make sure to stay on top of my B vitamins now...
As for anxiety, that’s just not in my vocabulary—I'm genuinely happy and totally content with how my life is going.
OCD: General Discussion Thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
Oh man, honestly, it’s pretty great while we can just sit back and be entertained by 🙂 🙂 🙂

The only thing that actually gets under my skin is that sudden, intense urge to gag—like if I catch a glimpse of something gross like dirt under a fingernail or someone's stray hair or something 🙂 🙂
OCD: General Discussion Thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
Just to set the record straight—when I was a little kid, I used to obsess over not stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk, but nowadays I don't even look where I'm going! ;-)

There’s probably more to it too, just a bunch of unconscious habits I've picked up over the years...

But honestly, my favorite little rituals are washing my hands, counting out pieces of candy, lining up my receipts, and making sure the dishes go "to dry" in one specific order before they get tucked away in the cabinets in their own perfect sequence...

Though, I hate to admit it, I don't have those super organized planners like you do—man, that would actually be pretty useful, since I can barely even read my own handwriting most days...
