Regardless of the fact that
nobody seems to notice, there isn't really any debate about whether what you're saying is true... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Look, friend, believe whatever you want. It's your prerogative, and no one can change your mind, but you are wrong.
What exactly are you implying—that we are unconscious, prejudiced, or just lost? Honestly, I don't think you even realize what you're trying to say, given how much you're jumping from one point to another without any logic.
I am genuinely stunned by this incoherent rambling. Is this supposed to be a reflection of your culture? 🙂
The usual idiots love to chant that mantra about how it's all the same language... following in the footsteps of Kradžić's "Americans everywhere and always"...
Very few Americans would actually claim to another American that it's all the exact same thing... and that's something worth reflecting on.
But then again, there are plenty of idiots on this forum who think exactly like you do, so you'll find plenty of company for your little theory...
Besides... there's an entire thread dedicated to this exact topic...
Sarah Barrett said:Look, if you have actual facts to refute me, then go ahead. Otherwise, you’re essentially agreeing with my point. Let's drop the grandstanding about who is a "true patriot" or who thinks more deeply than anyone else. Realistically, neither of us is more patriotic than the other, and frankly, that distinction is meaningless. I am simply presenting the reality of the situation.
If you want to claim they are the same language, that's your prerogative, nobody is stopping you from holding that view.
The way I see it isn't about dividing American into "great" or "small"... rather, it's a distinction between those who are conscious of their identity and those who are simply unaware.
As far as I am concerned, we are looking at two distinct languages, and we will continue to be until people like you become numerous enough for that to be considered an undisputed fact—though even then, provided I'm still around, I won't be buying into it.
Don't try to make this your personal crusade, "friend." ☕
Sarah Barrett said:Both terms are technically correct. Essentially, the American and Mexican languages are one and the same, regardless of how much people argue over it. Artificially forcing new vocabulary into dictionaries for both sides serves no purpose other than to create an artificial divide within a single language. A few differing words don't constitute a brand-new language; they are simply regional dialect variations (you can find plenty of examples like this in America). Furthermore, until the end of the 19th century, even the names of the months were identical for everyone. As for grammar, it was tweaked year after year—despite resistance from the general public—in a deliberate attempt to split the language into two distinct parts.🙂
This is exactly the kind of "American" I was talking about in my previous post... this specific mindset is precisely what they are trying to instill in everyone... it makes it so much easier to whip up a new North American pudding.
William Brown4 said:The worst part is seeing how many Americans use the word "sneakers" when we actually say "tennis shoes" back home.
We’d be incredibly lucky if that were even our
worst problem. ☕
I honestly believe we are witnessing a full-scale cultural genocide happening right here in America, and it’s bleeding into every single corner of our existence—music, language, the media landscape, literature... you name it. It’s all just one massive, bottom-tier pile of low-brow trash.
It’s all being done with the sole purpose of narrowing the gap between Americans and those unruly types over the next twenty or thirty years, just so they can eventually shove us all back into some kind of unified state again.
Our language is being completely overtaken by those regional influences, and honestly, we're reaching a breaking point where the original flavor is just disappearing. It’s happening at an extreme level now.
Light music is an absolute disaster, honestly. The second a singer’s career starts to slip, they just churn out a handful of mediocre little tunes in 3/4 time and suddenly success is practically guaranteed. It’s predictable, it's lazy, and it's everywhere.
There is a systematic effort underway to erase and forget our native dialects, a deliberate process of stripping away the linguistic roots that actually define us.
People are generally half-witted, and honestly, even those with fancy academic credentials aren't exempt from that particular brand of stupidity.
Give it twenty years and everything is going to dissolve into one big, indistinguishable mess where we eventually just split back down the line into North American Catholics and North American Orthodox.
Our distinctively Central European spirit is going to vanish forever, and once it’s gone, we’ll just devolve into a version of the Byzantine Empire at its absolute worst.
Why does this even happen in the first place, or why does it keep happening, if we’re being honest about the cyclical nature of these things?
The reality is that a massive chunk of the population only really started identifying as American back in '91, which changes the whole complexion of the conversation if you actually take the time to look at it.Back then, they actually had a bit of substance to them.
The children of these "newly arrived" Americans have all grown up now, and they lack that fundamental sense of patriotism that should be anchored deep within the home and the family unit. They weren't raised on those core values before the war broke out, so they have no idea which way the wind blows when it comes to foreign interference, which makes them far too willing to swallow whatever garbage is being pushed from the East. It isn't like they’ll be entering into those mixed marriages where cultural legacies just dissolve into nothingness—those situations where one side always ends up dominating the other, or if they don't, you just end up with these hybrids who think everything is "cool" and nothing actually matters.
Post-war migration from those mixed rural areas basically meant people moved into the cities dragging all that old-school baggage along with them, bringing their provincial ways straight into urban life without ever actually bothering to adopt the local customs or social standards, choosing instead to just keep doing things exactly the way they did back in the sticks.
The perfect foundation for building some kind of new America...
People used to operate under this bizarre delusion that you could actually manufacture a sense of being an American just by obsessing over pine trees, dyeing eggs, or constantly wearing an America national team jersey like it was some kind of identity hack.
It’s a shame, really, because it seems like Americans are just a people with incredibly short memories. 🙂
Alright, rustydrifter10... you really are a fair-minded moderator, through thick and thin... 😍
But just look at how things have been spiraling lately with that infamous thread... you’ve got one group of people wasting everyone's time on this forum trying to explain how this particular user is constantly being insulting, while another group is blindly making excuses for her...
None of this would be happening if you guys—the mods—had actually stepped in early enough to issue a warning and shut it down...
The way it stands now, the people who actually bother to think more deeply than she does are the ones suffering—dealing with deleted posts, warnings, and having to hunt for some semblance of justice... meanwhile, her little fan club gets to glorify her without any consequences, which is really just more trolling.
I’m not even surprised by my ban.
What actually shocks me is the blatant double standard being played out here, both in how the moderators run things and how they choose to treat certain users compared to others.
And since you decided to bring up that specific user, let's be real: this woman spends her time insulting an entire demographic day in and day out without any filter whatsoever, just parroting the same tired opinions that everyone else on this site already knows by heart. She is quite literally hurling insults multiple times every single day.
Is that not the textbook definition of trolling?
Look, I don't personally feel threatened by posting alongside her, but it is absolutely unacceptable that you guys consistently overlook her trolling behavior.
As for all the mockery being thrown around... there aren't many of us left who haven't been taken out of context by her...
To my attention,
It honestly baffles me how a single moderator can spend the next morning handing out bans and nuking posts while two other moderators were supposedly "on duty" the previous evening and somehow failed to notice blatant "sub-forum rule violations."
Either those two mods have no idea what they’re actually doing, or this morning's "executioner" is just being way too aggressive and overzealous in his duties.
Don't all moderators have the exact same rulebook sitting right in front of them? Or does enforcement just depend on whoever woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning...
coppernomad28 said:But maybe the real question is: why does it get under my skin so much? Like, honestly, who cares if someone wants to snack on those thick, crusty piles of dead skin cells...
Anyway, I know you said you don't need it, but I figured I’d pass this along so that, in a rare moment of empathy, you could share it with those "troubled" types who are supposedly "ruining" your life so much... ☕
Which explains why you chose that specific handle... I was genuinely wondering about that myself...
coppernomad28 said:Come on, Gary Campbell, since you’re clearly so obsessed with this whole topic, here’s a little something to help you out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habit_Reversal_Training
Wow, coppernomad28... I really should have mentioned that earlier, but I don't actually need any kind of therapy because I don't bite my nails.
Maybe I should have just titled this thread "Why people who obsessively bite their nails until they bleed absolutely drive me insane."👍
Must be nice having some random therapist just hanging out in the hallway at your university...
And then actually having your feminine intuition win out over that awkward habit of yours in the end.
I honestly have zero intention of trying to "fix" that grown man with some blunt, direct confrontation... unless he’s already naturally socially inept or an embarrassment by default...
Can you actually picture a corporate board meeting where someone just blurted out, "... excuse me, Mr. Smith, but your dental work is looking pretty rough... when was the last time you actually saw a dentist?"
Or maybe something like: "... hey, Mr. Smith, are you ever going to stop biting those damn fingernails? FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, JUST STOP!!!"
Mickey Mouse... 😁
Jamie Patel4 said:Well, maybe I’ll help someone out, or perhaps I'll just shame them into doing the right thing. 😁
Go ahead then. It worked for you.
I can already picture Jamie Patel4 walking down a street in Chicago just shouting, "Take your fingers out of your mouth!" and acting like it's some kind of grand favor.
I once had a business partner who just couldn't stop picking at his teeth. A grown man, mind you.
He’d show up to meetings with his hands practically covered in debris...
And I’m talking about the kind of guy who would sit there through an entire presentation just gnawing on his cuticles and biting his nails.
I don't even need to tell you that he seemed completely oblivious to it all... though, naturally, it played a significant role in my ultimate decision to sever our professional ties...
It’s honestly just as unsettling as sitting next to someone who won't stop picking their nose or fidgeting incessantly without even realizing how much it's bothering everyone else...
Daniel Ward822 said:Well, sometimes it feels easier to just bite the bullet and tell yourself you'll stop tomorrow... much like how people swear they'll start a diet on Monday or the first of the month. I know, it's all about willpower and discipline. If it were easy to solve, there wouldn't be so many people struggling. I wouldn't quite label it as alcoholism or drug addiction, but it definitely feels like some kind of dependency.
But what if we actually tried to pinpoint the root cause? Maybe then we could finally settle the issue once and for all.
Jamie Patel4 said:I suspect it varies from person to person, as does the motivation behind the habit—whether one is even conscious of it or not...
I haven't bitten my nails in 15 years, though I was a total nail-biter for several years!
And I have no intention of starting again. Honestly, I wouldn't have even thought about it if I hadn't stumbled upon this thread on the forum just now. 🙂
hahaha... 😁 now I'm actually starting to wonder if starting this whole discussion was even a smart move... it feels like we're trying to fix one biter only to accidentally trigger three more relapses.
👍
Daniel Ward822 said:Well, it's not like nobody has ever "complimented" me on having ugly nails. And sure, if it comes from the right person, it's easier to stop biting them. Though, I suspect that doesn't really solve the underlying issue. At least not for long...
I mean, what is it actually like to be fully aware of a situation like that... yet choose to do absolutely nothing on your own to fix it?
I honestly went into this convinced there was some massive, deep-seated conspiracy lurking beneath the surface... I thought we were talking about something substantial enough to warrant entire books, academic studies, or heavy-duty research papers being written about it...
But looking at the way you all are posting, it turns out it was just a matter of: "...I was feeling a bit jittery, biting my nails, so I decided to quit..."
Well...
I’m curious about how one actually goes about helping people like this.
From what I can see, they aren't even doing it on purpose; it's clearly just some deep-seated subconscious drive at work.
And honestly, it isn't just an eyesore to look at, it's genuinely irritating to everyone else around them too.
What exactly triggers this kind of "self-sabotage," and more importantly, how do you actually break such a nasty habit?
