By twisting the caps, you extend the rod so it presses against the pole, and since it's rubberized, it shouldn't slip at all...

^Thanks, this is exactly what I had in mind. It would be ideal if there were a way to set this up without having to drill holes into the walls or door frames... I know those tension rod systems exist, but I’m not talking about just wedging a bar between the jambs; I'm looking for something more substantial that attaches through some other method entirely...

My dilemma is that I’m itching to get some pull-ups done at home...
Do you have any suggestions on where I might mount a bar? My door frame is about 6'3", which makes me think a standard setup would be far too low for a decent range of motion.

Does anyone know if there’s a specific type of bar designed to hook onto the frame while still allowing your body to hang clear of it?

If I had to pick between a katana, a wakizashi, or a tanto, I’d go with the Paul Chen (Hanwei) setup for my own safety—and honestly, probably yours too, if anyone were actually using them... I'd grab a katana from the Raptor line. Even without the hamon, they're just more durable and have such great balance...

It looks like the manufacturer is Jidai over in Japan... But from what I can tell, they don't really carry bokkens anymore...

You should try reaching out to a local guy we have right here on the forum... He crafts incredible bokkens and does custom saya and tsuka-ito work so they look totally authentic... He can make you a matching set tailored exactly to your specs... Since he basically handcrafts them one by one, he can adjust the sizing to fit you perfectly... It won't be super fast, but trust me, it's worth the wait... I haven't heard of a single one of his blades ever cracking...

All his contact info is right there... Just give him a shout... You can even send him a private message through paart here on the forum...

Well, problem solved!
It turns out the issue was specifically with NFS Carbon, since I tested the steering wheel on other games and everything worked just fine...

I've already tried starting this thread twice...

Please don't roast me here... I finally bit the bullet and bought my first steering wheel, and decided the best way to break it in was by firing up Need for Speed: Carbon while I wait for something better to play.

I got the game running and messed around with the nitro settings and all that, but I've hit a wall because I can't figure out how to actually steer with the wheel! Every single button responds perfectly fine within the game, yet somehow the actual steering input just won't register in the settings...

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it!
