I’m heading over to Peterson’s for a quick couple-day stay—taking the light rail, backpack on my shoulders—and not a single soul thinks to offer me a seat. High schoolers just stare at me while I’m struggling to navigate through the crowd in those ridiculous low-floor streetcars, and the teenagers are exactly the same... It was the same story on the ride back. It isn't like standing up killed me, but honestly, I have to wonder: where did basic manners go?

I had my surgery six years ago with the exact same diagnosis as your wife—thyroid issues plus lymph nodes—and I only went through the radioactive iodine treatment once, about six weeks after the operation. Since then, it’s just been regular checkups and nothing else. So, it isn't a given that she'll have to go back for more iodine treatments in the coming years; it really depends on what the scan shows about six months after the initial dose. In my case, everything came back clear, so they didn't send me back for more.
So, I’ve got these two xanthelasmas sitting right on my lower eyelids. My ophthalmologist is pushing for surgical removal, but honestly? The thought of scarring has me totally spooked. I did some digging and found out they can be treated with lasers too, though there’s surprisingly little actual data out there—which makes deciding anything pretty difficult. I can’t speak to how they’ll hold up over the next year or two, but I happened to pick up some jeans at Gap recently—just basic, slim-fit ones with a little detail on the side. They’re comfortable because of the stretch, yet they don't lose their shape at all. I’ve been wearing them for about two months now and honestly, I'm pretty happy with them. $50 It’s not like you’re breaking the bank here, so it might be worth a look.
