gentlerider7 said:You really think these Russian supporters are actually sitting on piles of rubles like it's some kind of treasure, huh?

I honestly hope their bosses are former KGB agents. It would be eye-opening for them to see what happens when dictators actually call the shots.

Russian fans can stick to the rubles, I'll take my dollars

He isn't even thinking in rubles; he's got dollars on his mind.☕

It’s like telling your neighbor, "Hey, if you slash my tires, I'll just buy new ones." 🙂

Why does Russia keep begging to lift those sanctions when they seem to be doing just fine?

bluebison8 said:I agree with you that Russia isn't a perfect nation and their people certainly don't live as well as they could, but things would be significantly worse if they were merely another US vassal. They wouldn't be living like Scandinavia; they'd be living like Ukraine.
And once you stop acting as a US vassal, we see what happens—just look at Libya, Iraq, Iran, and so on.
Or take that whole cluster of South American countries where governments were toppled and lives were ruined simply because someone didn't fit the desired mold.

Why aren't you bringing up European countries that the US squeezes? 🤷 I guess European nations are just so free and democratic that they don't need any help from America.

I don't want to exaggerate too much here, but here are just a handful of actual democracies that were dismantled (following completely legitimate elections!) by the US side:

The 7 Governments the U.S. Has Overthrown
https://foreignpolicy.com/2013/08/20...as-overthrown/

And don't even get me started on those "preventative" interventions meant to interfere with "free and democratic elections" in various other countries...

In America, cops are quick on the trigger, yet nobody seems to want to move to Russia. How does that work?

bluebison8 said:Let me assist you, since you clearly lack understanding.

Every one of those nations has supported US imperialism since World War II. I could almost understand it back when the USSR existed and they were terrified of being nearby, but I haven't seen a single boycott of the USA for anything that has happened since 1990.

What the USA did in Iraq (and Afghanistan) isn't much different from what Russia is doing now in Ukraine. And yet, nobody boycotted the USA.

The US doesn't attack democratic nations. It's always some dictator over there oppressing their own people. Honestly, they should have stepped in sooner.

I truly wish you the best and hope you feel better soon. If you really want to help Ukrainians, maybe try eating less meat and showering once a week? Just send them a little flag 👍

The USA didn't ask for my opinion on Russia's aggression against Ukraine. But if they had, I’d be helping Ukrainians too. It's like they asked me 🙂

The reality is that the Russians have been in someone else's backyard for 100 days now. The USA could have just said, "Fine, go ahead, Russians, roll those tanks into Kyiv, we'll just send the Ukrainians some little flags to wave." And then suddenly, fuel would be $3.75

scruffy mutt said:They slapped sanctions on Russia, so why all the whining? It feels like they basically did this to themselves. Denmark lost their Russian oil, and now the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Poland, and even Finland will probably be facing the same shortage.🤣

The ones complaining the loudest are the Russians. They brag about how strong the ruble is and all that, but then they spend every single opportunity begging for those sanctions to be lifted. So, what's the deal, Russia?

Ronald Chavez2 said:I wish I could share your optimism, but it all feels a bit detached from reality. Given how this started, aren't we just looking at a future where we're stuck buying more expensive American gas while completely severing ties with Russia, which basically sets the stage for stunted economic growth, assuming there's any growth left to speak of?

So, what's the actual price on that American gas? Let's look at the numbers.

Ronald Chavez2 said:Is there really any point in even engaging with this?

Europe is primarily feeling the sting because of the sanctions leveled against Russia, all stemming from this decision to take action in the first place. If nothing had been done at all, wouldn't we be spared these massive complications, leaving us only with the task of managing the Ukrainian refugees, which seems to be holding up reasonably well?

Real change doesn't happen overnight. Sure, things are rough now, but in a few years, you'll see the economy in Europe bounce back fast. By then, nobody will even remember Russia anymore. Well, except for the Russians and their allies.

That’s exactly what happened when they headed toward Germany after World War I—turns out, that wasn't exactly the smartest move.
It’s way better to make sure some kind of actual democracy actually takes root and sticks in Russia.

Exactly. That's why the second war even happened. People just don't learn from their mistakes.🙂

Everything we're dealing with today because of Russia... if they ever want to be part of the European community again, they'll have to pay for the damage they caused.

Pepper said:The calibers and Kinzals are plenty accurate—we've seen that in Ukraine. Look, Russia still sends people into space and they're leading the way in rocket tech.

To a fan like you, that's peak Russian technology. But for a college-educated Russian citizen, it would be much more important to actually produce cars, phones, gaming consoles, or TVs. They'd have Western-style wages. Instead, they're more like Korea. You see wealthy individuals alongside a poor population, just like in Korea. That's what happens when you live in a dictatorship.

Kyle Murphy81 said:If Russia truly possesses its own domestic production for chips, Intel processors, and the software to run them—spanning from raw silicon to finished computers—then one must admit they have talented people and high-quality universities producing the engineers who design and lead these Russian companies.
Not to mention advanced composite materials and such.
If Russia produces all of that independently, then one must give them credit.

It doesn't just fall from the sky, allowing Putin and Kiril (Jesus's priest) to spend the lives of Americans as they please.
After all, someone actually has to invent all that advanced technology.

If the Russians truly have all this, why is it that the Ukrainians choose to align themselves with the West, where they won't exactly have the freedom to experiment, design, and manufacture their own Intel chips and other advanced tech?

With the Russians, they might have had better opportunities—given the shared language and culture—to research, innovate, and develop high-tech products that could benefit the world and foster national growth.

As it stands, in the West, they are left with nothing but speculation and intrigue.

I don't get you. If you're so convinced, just move to Russia. That's where your future lies.😁 As for the rest of us, we'll stick with products from the decaying West.🍿

Pepper said:Russia actually makes its own smartphone called the Ayya T1, if you want to look it up online.

When it comes to chipmakers, they have Micron Technology, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon.

It’s like some people are just choosing to ignore reality—look at Russia or South Korea. They pay their citizens peanuts while dumping all their cash into weapons. And yet, I still see certain people on this forum rooting for them.

Russia hasn't collapsed after three months of war. So what happens ten years down the road? You can't even finish driving school in three months.

With the ruble finally gaining some ground, those pro-Russia folks can head over to Moscow and pick up a new car even cheaper than before the war started.
