Though, honestly, before some extreme right-wing group takes over or some new Hiccup swoops in to save the day in Germany, I think we're in trouble—those people are hardcore nationalists. Grace Anderson3, would you say Hans is one of those nationalists? You know, the type who claims they're a master race? When I was traveling through Eastern Europe, I met plenty of folks like that. Sure, New York City is a melting pot where you find everything, but I'm terrified that things might finally boil over back in Germany.

It strikes me that this baby will basically be part of a minority in New York City in about 30 years.

Smoking makes hair darken fast. My late grandfather was as blond as a newborn. If I hadn't seen the old photos, I wouldn't believe it, because my memory of him is strictly dark-haired.

I’ve never smoked, though apparently, the baby was spit on when I was an infant, and my kids actually took second and third place in that "Cutest Babies" contest in *Parents* magazine.

They aren't even looking our way because we don't fit the mold—we aren't gorgeous, we aren't twenty, and we haven't spent every waking hour at the gym.

I was actually a blonde kid until about fourth grade. People used to call me "Goldie" back then, but once my hair started darkening up, the nickname died out pretty quickly.

Seriously, Grace Anderson3, you really need to watch what you’re eating. Beans? Are you kidding me? You should probably look up some nutritional guides online specifically for what's safe for the baby. As for that little drill thing, maybe it'll be a fun novelty for a minute, but once they actually grow up, you'll definitely need to invest in a proper set of toy tools.

Some babies just react to things that aren't even music; it's more about a specific frequency or noise that somehow hits the spot. 🤔 I heard about this one woman who recorded the sound of a hairdryer and played it on loop whenever she needed to soothe her infant. 🤔

The more you carry him around, the more he’s going to expect it; before you know it, he won't want to spend a single second alone in his crib. There's a little trick I learned: once he’s finished eating, just rest him against your shoulder with his head tilted back so he can burp. If you don't get that air out, he’ll end up throwing everything back up. Just throw a burp cloth over your shoulder

I honestly think those will be his very first words, oh my god.
