It seems like you don't quite get how movie earnings actually work, because this film is a massive flop. The studio doesn't even see 50% of the money from international distribution, and that percentage drops even further the longer the movie stays in theaters. With a total budget of $150 million, this thing needs to pull in at least $400 million just to break even. Right now, it hasn't even hit $100 million, and it's already been playing for over two weeks.
This whole debate feels a bit pointless because you’re comparing two actors who pick completely different paths. Both guys are top-tier talents. Leo leans more toward the mainstream, so his roles and movies are obviously bigger productions—he pulls in more cash and has a massive fanbase to boot. Did they both deserve an Oscar? I'd say yes without a second thought, and I'm honestly rooting for Edward to grab one soon. Will he win it for his absolute best performance? Probably not, just like Leo, but there are plenty of examples of that happening.
Also, why is the vote limited to 20 people??
I really like both actors. Personally, I lean toward Leo just because his filmography is so much stronger. And honestly, saying none of his roles will stick? That’s total bullshit. His performance in Wolf is definitely going to stay with people, even if just for that scene where he's crawling toward the car while high. I agree that those gritty roles suit him better, so I hope he keeps picking movies like that. It's harder to snag awards with those types of films, but now that he's finally bagged an Academy Award, maybe he can take a break from the depressing stuff for a bit.
It’s been a long time since I sat through something this bad. Honestly, I was just counting down the minutes until it was finally over.
By the way, what’s the deal with the agreement with the Black Knights for the coastal derby? Are we teaming up against the USSF and this whole voucher scheme, or is there no cooperation because of those clashes at Miami Beach during the last matchup?
Such a great comedy. I honestly had such a good laugh. Also, if you can, try not to watch the trailer beforehand—you'll enjoy it way more that way.
Bon Jovi is playing this year, and honestly, they're easily the best live band on the planet right now. They'll be at Yankee Stadium on June 8th.
Check out those guys on the right and that ad!
