Regarding the question in the opening post, my first thought was definitely about those parents who do everything for their kids, eventually leaving them completely helpless. But as I kept reading, I started wondering if my own way of doing things might actually lean toward neglect, so I'm honestly not quite sure. 😁
I guess I'm much more inclined toward letting them figure it out themselves rather than stepping in to do the work for them.
Plus, when you combine that with overprotective parenting, you end up with someone who grows up to be incredibly insecure about themselves...
It’s funny how life works out, because in the city where I actually live and put in all my work, my social circle isn't exactly huge... it’s pretty thin, really. But whenever I head back to my hometown, which happens a few times a month, that's when I truly reconnect with the people who actually mean something to me.
I don't know, I think I just moved past that stage of life where you feel this intense pressure to be out every single weekend trying to socialize, so honestly, the amount of company I have right now feels perfectly balanced.
I've never been the kind of person who will force a connection or hang out with someone just for the sake of having something to do, because at the end of the day, I'd much rather just enjoy my own company than waste precious time with people I don't actually click with...
I was just sitting here thinking about how much easier life used to be when you didn't have to hunt things down, like where on earth you can actually buy a decent little measuring cup for laundry detergent these days, because I remember back in the day they used to just tuck one right inside the box with the powder, but apparently that hasn't been the standard practice for quite some time now...

I honestly feel like this applies to pretty much any dish you make, because everything just tastes so much more delicious when you actually cook with love... 😁

I can’t say I recall ever having a truly terrible slice, with one notable exception involving an overly pretentious place that served a crust so thin and brittle it felt more like a cracker than dough, leaving nothing but a shallow pool of olive oil in the center for some wilted greens to drown in.🤦 Naturally, I left feeling quite hungry and simply ordered a delivery from home instead.🤣

Yeah, that’s the one... I actually pass by the memorial cross they put up right where it all happened every single day on my commute to work, so I see it all the time...
I've actually been following them for a little while now... 👍
The thing is, I can go days, weeks, or even a whole month without touching a drop, but my real issue is that I tend to drink all by myself, mostly just because I'm bored or maybe it's just become one of those mindless habits, and once I actually get started, I just don't know how to pull the brakes, so almost every single time I end up drinking until I'm completely wasted...
That was pretty much my experience too, where I spent several days just waiting on the results, and then once Monday rolled around and I found out I had to quarantine, I didn't really step foot outside at all, except for that one trip to get tested...
The whole concept of isolation feels like it’s defined in such a weird, fuzzy way... For me, personally, I started feeling those first symptoms last Saturday, and then on Monday, I finally got a hold of my doctor, who told me I needed to be isolating and that the clock actually starts counting from Saturday... So, basically, for those first two days, I didn't even realize I was technically supposed to be isolating, and I was just going about my business like nothing was wrong, popping down to the local CVS or hitting up the bakery nearby... It wasn't until Friday that I actually went to get tested, and then yesterday I found out the result was positive, but regardless of all that, my isolation period still officially wraps up ten days after those initial symptoms showed up.
