Urša Raukar provided an excellent high-level overview of recent developments:
- The Prime Minister keeps obsessing over the media coverage favoring Možemo!, but frankly, it would be far more prudent for the Republican Party to ask themselves why they couldn't secure any meaningful ground in Washington, D.C. In my view, the electorate sent them a clear message. The fact that Tomašević has emerged as the most popular political figure right now is merely a byproduct of the local elections and the initial momentum from the mayor's first decisive moves. We aren't getting carried away by the polls; we have three years ahead of us, filled with grueling work and the constant need to prove our worth—said Raukar.
There was this one film that hit me incredibly hard when I first saw it, yet somehow, the details have completely slipped my mind over the years. 🤣 I really ought to give it another viewing.
You’ve completely missed the point by focusing on the technicalities of the game. That isn't what this is about. If you have the financial cushion and the mental fortitude to spend your life essentially shouting into the void of an online forum, then by all means, be my guest. Personally, I don't see any reason why anyone should be forced to tolerate being treated like a second-class citizen 🤷

But that has absolutely nothing to do with depositing funds into an account or withdrawing them in another country.
That rule applies to first-time homebuyers—I assume that legislation is still on the books. Essentially, if you're buying your very first home, you can be exempt from certain transfer taxes on up to about 540 square feet per person. It used to be 5% of the sale price, though I believe they lowered it to 4% recently. The catch is that you aren't allowed to flip that property within three years; if you do, you'll be on the hook for those transfer taxes.

I have a hazy memory of a friend of mine actually being shaken down for cash—it was ages ago, and the specifics have blurred, but it happened.
I find myself agreeing with the sentiment that they lack any legitimate justification for taxing the money used to purchase a home, let alone the savings one has painstakingly set aside for such a purpose. In any logical fiscal system, taxes should be levied on income; what you manage to retain after those obligations are met should rightfully belong to you, not the government.
I don't see why that wouldn't be an issue 🤷 Your money. Generally speaking, banks are notorious for throwing up hurdles when you try to withdraw a massive sum all at once, yet they rarely raise an eyebrow when you're depositing it.
Why not just deposit a significant lump sum all at once? It’s perfectly transparent where the money came from—it was from the sale of a house, so there isn't anything shady about the source. My only hesitation is that if the bank were to collapse, the federal government only guarantees deposits up to a certain limit per person, I believe it's around $250,000.

Congratulations 😬
I actually reached out to Chuck earlier to ask for a week-long ban; I desperately needed some kind of digital rehab. I swear, this will be the only post I make today. 😬
It’s more than just wasting time scrolling through this forum; it’s the endless cycle of falling for every piece of digital clickbait that crosses my screen. The end result is always the same: a completely fractured attention span, a total lack of focus, and a workflow that moves at a snail's pace where nothing actually gets accomplished or even finished. It’s much easier to sit here and vent on a message board than it is to actually face those looming responsibilities and deal with them head-on.
I find myself in agreement; that is certainly a significant issue.
It shows you're active even when you aren't actually doing anything. My tablet stays on while I'm chatting with a friend, and suddenly I see you're active on Messenger—but no, who knows where you really are, and then much later, I finally see a message.
OP, has this jealousy been hanging over you since the very beginning of your relationship with this guy, or did it just start creeping in after some time had passed?
Good grief, are you seriously jealous of a waitress?!? 🤦

Where did our original poster go?
I wouldn't say people have been outright "evil" to me, but I’ve definitely felt that sting of condescension, provocation, or people just trying to flex their power and puff themselves up. That style of communication has always rubbed me the wrong way, and it usually leaves me feeling pretty unsettled. When I’m dealing with people like that, I rarely handle it well in the moment; I usually just stand there totally stunned and react like .
The anger doesn't even kick in until the next day when my brain starts replaying the whole scene like a movie, and suddenly I realize exactly what I should have said or how I should have stood my ground. I'm a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to reacting. 🤔
I find myself wondering about the motivation behind that kind of behavior.
Maybe they grew up in environments where being blunt or harsh was the norm. Maybe they think putting someone else down is a shortcut to feeling superior. Maybe they just lash out at anyone who won't fight back, knowing they can get away with it. Or maybe some people just love dark humor and don't even realize they're crossing a line.
Personally, I love a good dark joke, but I’d never use that kind of humor with someone I don't know well—I'm never sure if they'll actually take it as a joke. You really need a foundation of trust before you start joking like that. Besides, there’s a time and a place for everything, and a joke isn't always appropriate.
I'm wondering the same thing—where did she go? She'll probably resurface tomorrow.
Regardless, you've certainly raised some thought-provoking points here.
A discussion regarding the maritime affairs of the sailor... 🤦 It strikes me that the true driving force behind all this is none other than Mother Teresa.
Thanks—I think a summary will do the trick for me, provided it’s actually any good, which I suspect it is.
I don't think reading those specific books would really suit my temperament; they seem to lean heavily into that whole "law of attraction" philosophy, or whatever they call it these days.
Right now, I'm working my way through Love Story and Darkness by the late Amos Oz, who was quite clearly both a gifted artist and a decent human being.
In cases like this, you go after the leader and ignore the rest. If you manage to take out the head, you risk someone else stepping up to fill the void and inheriting their followers, who are a massive pain in the ass. Honestly, it's probably better to just stay away from all that drama. 🕺
You’re right, as usual. God dammit. It’s great how my authority was handed down by hiddenpuma75. Apparently, that queen is some kind of terminal invalid—critically ill—and now I’m supposed to feel guilty because I attacked her as if she were just any other person. And don't act like you weren't part of this whole mess too.

However, very few people actually take the time to listen to music with true devotion, in an environment specifically prepared for such an experience where one can actually feel the full weight of the sound...
I’m actually heading to Lincoln Center next week 🎉
