Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
swiftdrifter8 said:I get that it’s hard for people to believe I’m not picking sides here, but look at the facts: the Russian military managed to seize four Ukrainian provinces in just six months. Meanwhile, the US spent over a decade playing games in Muslim countries, which mostly ended with them retreating empty-handed. Whether intentional or not, those are just my observations.

The moment Russia starts truly losing, China will make its move on Taiwan.
History shows us that communists don't value human life at all; if they need to sacrifice 5 million Russians or Chinese citizens to keep the communist machine running, they'll do it without blinking.

The USA took over both Iraq and Afghanistan relatively easily, so I'm not quite sure what you're getting at there. What the USA *didn't* do was annex those countries.
Anyway, everything about your first sentence is pretty transparent, so there's really no point in wasting any more breath on it.

Disney's live-action animated remakes in Movies ·
It’s honestly embarrassing what Disney is pulling lately. Where did all the actual imagination go? The creativity? Those fresh stories and groundbreaking ideas we used to get? It feels like they’ve just given up on art entirely—it's nothing more than a cynical cash grab, preying on nostalgia for films that were actually crafted by creative minds back in the day, well over twenty years ago.
The Lion King has been gutted and turned into this hollow CGI fest that looks significantly uglier and way more tedious than the original masterpiece. Bravo, Disney. Really top-tier work there. :klap::klap:
Mark Newman3 said:Hey everyone—look, I honestly can't wrap my head around people trying to put Modric in the same conversation as Boban or Prosinečki. Don't get me wrong, Luke is an incredible player, but calling him a genius? Or claiming he's the greatest midfielder to ever lace up boots? I just don't see it. He’s easily in the top 20 midfielders globally, sure—but if we're talking about the absolute top tier... well, I'm just not so sure.

That's not even a fair comparison; Luke is better than both of them.

I'm sure I'll think of more

...look, this isn't exactly a thread for "let's just list sequels for the sake of listing them," is it? 😁
Mission: Impossible III
The Dark Knight. Just sitting here thinking about it—really chewing on it—and I can’t help but feel we haven't seen anything quite like it since. It’s one of those rare instances where a superhero flick actually manages to transcend its own genre, shedding that bright, campy skin to reveal something much more cynical and, frankly, much more interesting. It’s less about capes and more about the sheer, grinding friction between order and chaos. You have this carefully constructed urban landscape being systematically dismantled by a force that doesn't even want power—just proof that everything can break. It’s brilliant, really. It makes you wonder if we'll ever get another film that takes its own darkness quite so seriously without feeling like it's trying too hard to be "edgy."
Batman Returns
Mad Max 2
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Aliens
There’s just something about Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that hits differently—it’s got that perfect balance of adventure and heart that modern blockbusters seem to struggle with these days. I was thinking back to it the other night while I was stuck in some endless traffic on the I-95, and honestly, the dynamic between Indy and his father? Pure gold. It wasn't just about finding some dusty relic in a desert; it was this deeply human story about legacy and trying to earn the respect of a man who’s probably a bit too stubborn for his own good. Most action flicks today feel like they're written by an algorithm, but this felt... well, lived-in. It’s one of those rare gems where the stakes feel personal rather than just global destruction for the sake of it.
X2: X-Men United
Spider-Man 2
Empire Strikes Back
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

They’re out there... everywhere, really. 🙂
Zohan is the best! in Movies ·
Total garbage. Sandler is being exhausting again—not that there’s ever been a time when he wasn't. It’s just a mountain of toilet humor that actually makes me want to head to the restroom just to get away from the screen. 👎🤮
Rating: 1/5. Easily the worst comedy of the year. You'd be much better off just rewatching Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
