What are your all-time favorite superhero movies?

What are your favorites, and what makes them stand out to you?

For me, it’s always been V for Vendetta, Hellboy II, Hellboy, and Batman Begins
along with probably X-Men

The Shadow You totally missed him. He’s definitely underrated, but honestly? A solid watch. As far as the legends go though... you’ve gotta have Superman, Batman (Burton), and The Dark Knight. Oh, and Phantom... just a decent little flick...

I just realized I voted for five films instead of just one 🤦
Anyway, I cast my vote for Watchmen—the graphic novel is top-tier, though the movie is only a decent adaptation. I’d also throw in Batman Begins and Iron Man

See, I was just copying over my superhero movie list (though I did skip a few) and he wasn't on there...
I actually agree, it's a pretty good movie; I watched it a couple of times back when it was still a big hit...

Redom; Watchmen, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Batman (Burton).

Burton's two Batman films, Singer's X2, both Hellboy movies... that would be the extent of it. While the first Superman isn't bad, it still sits a tier below those mentioned above, and Hulk is undoubtedly overrated.
"Spider-Man" stands as the lowest point in Sam Raimi's entire career. Fortunately, he has God on his side, because he managed to pull himself back from the brink with Drag Me to Hell.

I haven't seen Drag Me to Hell yet, but I definitely agree regarding Spider-Man.🤮

A lot of the movies mentioned here are fantastic; I’ve always had a soft spot for superhero flicks.
But if I have to pick one, I’m going with Superman because he’s easily the most powerful 🙂 😬 honestly, I think he’s the coolest hero on this entire list,
and we are talking about an absolute classic here.
In my humble opinion, the movie is nothing short of genius.
Don't get me wrong, the quality of the other films is definitely there, but this was the very first movie in the genre that I was absolutely obsessed with.

Actually, Dr. Manhattan could probably teleport Superman 16 times and take him apart molecule by molecule and put him back together 12 times before the guy even realized what was happening.😛

V for Vendetta isn't really a superhero movie.

Personally, my favorite superhero flick is actually an outlier—The Incredibles. As for the rest, I’d say Batman, Batman Begins, and Iron Man are top tier.

Superman II, X-Men 1 & 2, The Dark Knight, Iron Man

Hellboy, Batman Returns, X-Men, and Blade.
I haven't quite gotten around to watching Watchmen yet, unfortunately.

Watchmen and Batman Returns—no contest. Because of those noir elements, Watchmen is truly something else (especially the graphic novel), and Batman Returns just nails the atmosphere. Honestly, Sin City is probably the best comic book adaptation out there, but you don't have any actual superheroes in that one. 😛

If we’re going by those rules, then neither Batman nor Punisher should even be on the list.

And you completely overlooked The Crow.

What’s even the point of having Unbreakable here? That movie doesn't belong in this conversation at all.

Unbreakable, Hancock, the first Batman, The Dark Knight, and V.

I voted for Superman just because I’m a total seventies kid at heart. Honestly, I’d even give my vote to Spider-Man if he was actually the version from the seventies. This new guy is absolute garbage—he completely trashed the vision of Spider-Man I grew up with reading those old Exxon comics and those vintage imports my buddy used to snag from Italy.
